Located in the middle of untouched nature on Lamu Atoll, not far from the equator. The resort is in a well-kept, very pristine condition and offers a lot of tranquillity and, above all, direct proximity to the indescribably beautiful nature of the Maldives.
It is a 4-star resort, which is particularly noticeable in the food. We had a great stay and I would recommend the hotel to anyone who just wants to take a deep breath, but I would definitely not recommend this place as a honeymoon destination.
Location & surroundings
From Male Airport it takes another 1 hour by domestic flight, from there it is about 45 minutes by speedboat to the resort. The surroundings are simply fantastic!
Rooms
The rooms are clean, functionally equipped and very spacious. We booked a Langoon villa and really enjoyed our stay.
Service
The service is great! Everyone at the hotel is in a positive mood and extremely courteous. Our special thanks go to our room service Surendra and the bar keeper Rana, who made our stay extra special with good humor and nice
conversations!5****!!!
Gastronomy
The choice of food is unfortunately very limited. Also, a lot of things tend to be repeated from day to day. I would generally describe the cuisine as rather local. We were always served enough and the food was fresh, but people who eat very selectively will not be happy here.
Sport & entertainment
- Massage - The massage was absolutely amazing!
The therapists know exactly what they are doing and are super friendly and courteous! The value for money is TOP! - Diving - The diving center and both diving instructors are great! Thank you for giving us such a great time with you!

Actually, a few things should be clear when you book a trip like this. However, the reviews here and experiences on site show that this is apparently not the case.
- You fly to an island in the Indian Ocean. There is no way to drive to the nearest supermarket. Neither as a guest, nor for the resort. As a result, the selection of food and the supply of it is quite limited. In our case, we ran out of CokeLight after 4/5 days, but the supply ship never came. You can now spend the rest of your vacation getting upset about it, or you can drink something else. There is a choice.
- It's quite surprising that people fly halfway around the world and then complain about the lack of fast food when they get there. Most of these complaints come from a nation which, apart from "fish fillet deep-fried in batter and thick deep-fried potato sticks", has no food culture worth mentioning. The average number of guests unfortunately corresponds to at least 3/4 of this nation. Accordingly, there were constant and regular complaints about the food, just because the food served in the Maldives is largely based on Indian, Sri Lankan and Maldivian cuisine. In the end, the resort gave in and from then on they served delicious dishes such as shepherd's pie, burgers and pizza. Of course, from then on everything had to be drowned in sauce. In the Maldives... After a conversation with the kitchen staff, they told us that they simply had to give up due to the complaints and the demand for fast food, mayo and ketchup. We then remarked that we hadn't flown 27 hours for fast food, but to enjoy authentic, local cuisine. We were then rewarded with Indian cuisine, which was absolutely delicious. What's more, the kitchen staff are of course also happy when they can do the real thing and not just any fast food.
- There were complaints that drinks and food should only be consumed in the bar/restaurant area. The reason for this is actually quite obvious and became apparent in the evening: some people don't even manage to bring the glasses they have taken with them back to their room so that the room boy can take them back to the bar/restaurant, but leave them where they fall out of their hands. This is of course cleaned up by the staff the following morning, but it doesn't have to be. Just as there doesn't have to be any leftover food on the beach. This is of course also cleaned up by the staff. However, ants and other animals are still attracted to it. And then you complain when you have ants on your doorstep.
- There's not a great deal to do on an island like this. You can swim, snorkel, dive, fish, hire equipment for stand-up paddling and kayaks, there's a pool table, table tennis table and table football. But that's about it. If you need more, you're probably in the wrong place on an island like this and should go to an entertainment club.
- Perhaps the staff should also be mentioned here. The girls and boys do an absolutely great job. Always with a smile on their faces, friendly and helpful. You are welcome to leave a tip here. Our roomboy (#220) always got something from time to time, the minibar was always full of props, the bed was made up every day and cleaned to the devil's end. The staff work there for a few hundred dollars and I hardly think that a little more tip would ruin a guest financially. By the way, slavery is long gone, so you can treat the staff with respect, greet them or say thank you.
- The massages in the spa are great. We had the Balinese massage, which was fantastic.
- There are daily evening events in the bar, disco evenings, karaoke, movies, etc...
I would especially like to thank:
- Vamshi, the restaurant manager who took great care of us
- Roshan at the cooking station for the best omelette
- our chef, Avishka, who provided us with authentic Indian cuisine
- Chiranjeevi who took care of our drinks
- our Roomboy (#220) who kept our room super clean

Absolutely stunning island with superb staff always happy to assist you especially Indri. The food is fine if you're creative and the chef in the main dining area is happy to assist with your preferences. The ocean view rooms are fantastic with outdoor bathroom and the Aircon in the bedroom is super chilled.. the cleaners are also very regular and efficient at cleaning the sand from the rooms. The whole experience was very relaxing with stunning scenery.. my only disappointment was no jet ski hire.. The canoes were great for a visit to small islands around it.. A huge thanks to Maafu who did me a Hugh favour whilst out on the turtle excursion..
In whole I did enjoy my stay here and would recommend them if you're looking for a relaxing break.. thanks very much all at Raaha Resort.

We spent a week at Rahaa Resort at the end of July. We had hot sunny weather everyday of our trip which was lovely, as this is typically the rainy season in the Maldives.
The facilities at Rahaa are very clean and modern. We loved the food at the buffet and loved spending time under the beach umbrellas and Ko Bar.
Rahaa is perfect for a relaxing escape. The island is beautiful and clean, lots of places you hang out by the beach.
I did diving for the first time with Rahaa, initially I was scared and almost did not do it, however, the diving instructor Mamdhooh was incredible and helped me stay calm throughout the whole dive. Definitely recommend if you're a beginner!
Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Rahaa and would definitely come back in the future. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating which made the experience even more special. The rooms are very spacious, we had a sea view and loved our little patio bit outside our room.

Will and I stayed at this resort from 9th-22nd September 23.
Beautiful, peace and quiet, just relaxing and snorkelling.
The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble, they're very attentive, polite and respectful.
We had an ocean view room, WOW!! you looked straight out of the patio doors, through your own walkway and straight into the beautiful Indian Ocean.
We saw stingrays, eagle rays and swam in the water with the black tipped sharks... Amazing!!!
Vamshi, was just brilliant at his job... Kavinder was brilliant on the reception desk... all the staff are brilliant and a credit to their General Manager, Manager, the wonderful Ricca.
The chefs were great and we enjoyed the food.. thank you chefs.
Nagendra, from housekeeping was great, the room was always clean, but I have to mention that he's also very talented when making special messages on our bed for our anniversary and my birthday.. the art work was beautiful.
Vamshi is going to make a great manager some day if he carries on with his training. Vamshi, the nickname you gave Will has stuck with him....as you called him, the Professor!!!! :)
Ricca, you are an absolute gem and a lovely person, it was a pleasure meeting you and would love for us to keep in touch.
Finally, I would like to say thank you for making our holiday so wonderful, you are all amazing!!!!!
The only downside we had was the trip to another island, it was nothing like the trip had been described.
We would definitely visit again and would highly recommend this resort.
Photo's will be posted later.
Missing the island already
