The Royal Island Resort & Spa All-Inclusive programme includes the following:
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant
- Snacks served at selected outlets (10am to 6pm)
- Selected ice creams served in the main restaurant (during mealtimes) and at the main bar (10am to 1am) and pool terrace (10am to 1am)
- Beverages served by the glass, including island brand water, tea, coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, macchiato, soft drinks, fruit juices (canned or bottled), selected milk shakes, selected smoothies, selected fresh juices, selected wines, beer, spirits, selected cocktails and selected mocktails served in the main restaurant (during mealtimes) and at the main bar (10am to 1am) and pool terrace (10am to 1am)
- Minibar filled with 2 soft drinks, 2 juices, 2 beers and 2 wines and 2 assorted snack items (refilled once per day)
- One a la carte meal per person, per stay, for a minimum 5 nights’ stay (reservations required, special events at a la carte restaurants are not included, only selected beverages from the special all-inclusive drinks menu can be consumed in a la carte restaurants as part of the all-inclusive concept)

It is a very nice hotel and a great value for money! They have everything you need. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Spa is good and beautiful. The food buffet is delicious and they have a la carte restaurant on the beach too. They have a kids club with different craft activities for kids. A lot of experiences and water sports activities may be arranged if needed. The reef is good: sharks, rays, many fishes. The staff is friendly. And I repeat it is all you can wish with a great price!

Recently visited Royal Island resort in Baa Atoll for our honeymoon. This resort is really great value for money and we can’t fault it. The hospitality from staff was outstanding, rooms were clean and spacious, onsite facilities were amazing and the snorkelling around the island is unbelievable! On the one day we had rain and there was plenty of indoor activities available to keep us entertained.
Any couples considering this destination should we mindful that this is popular with families so there will be a lot of children. This did not affect us and actually think it would be a great holiday destination when we have our own family as they have an itinerary for kids club everyday.
We stayed 6 nights in total which was the perfect amount of time for us. We did the Manta Ray experience booked onsite, luckily we saw the manta rays which was a dream for us and ticked off a bucket list item. The only thing I would say is perhaps considering cost high cost for the excursion, the resort should consider a partial refund/chance to go back out at no cost for any group that goes out and does not see the manta rays.
The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner is wonderful and there are options for everyone! Staff were so kind, helpful and friendly.
Looking forward to revisiting this beautiful place again soon 😊

My partner and I spent 10 nights in August 2024. The resort is really looked after and clean. The food quality is good, some days better than other but overall we were happy with the offer. There are several options for different dietary requirements. The staff is really kind and available to help. The rooms are a bit old and dated but they are kept clean and overall they are spacious and cozy.
I don’t score it 5 stars because the “butler service” was not always attentive to customer’s request and sometimes was really hard to get hold of the person in charge of the concierge.

Well, it is cheap compared with top hotels. (Sometimes it is sadly cheap - we were not very happy to discover that prices became two times lower two weeks after our stay).
Good snorkeling (rich sea life - possible to see all main species of Maldives without diving).
Food is the same for at least five years when we visit and it is quite average (a lot of spicy food while 90% of travellers are europeans).
Bar is average, drinks are weak, the same singers for several years, guys from the diving center perform weak presentations, boring.
Rooms are old. AC located above your bed, termites in wood panels. Overall ok, but not perfect.
Staff looks not very happy (but smiling). Overall culture is average - below high standards (one room cleaner was perfect, another one was lazy etc.)
There were a lot of western europeans during previous years, currently most of the guests are eastern europeans.
My 7yo daughter forgot sunglasses (not cheap but not very expensive Swiss made) at the buffet table for 15 minutes, it is gone. I am not believing that it is staff, but just to note what kind of people could be among guests. No cameras, anything. It was sad.
As for me, I love Maldives for sea life and snorkelling, but my wife loves comfort. There is better snorkelling for less money, there is better comfort for much money. Which means (as far as I am travelling with my wife) the next hotel will be not far from Royal Island (easy to find) (but it will never be Royal Island again).

We went to 2 different islands in Maldives. When we arrived at the Royal Island Spa, we realized that we made the wrong decision. The rooms were old, the food was not hygienic, and no taste The worst part was that there were mosquitoes everywhere, we were very uncomfortable. It could be scary for families with small children. The staff was good and the beach was very good.
