Having been to Maldives several times, but only the first time as a couple, I couldn't have been happier with what Angsana Velavaru and its team offered us in terms of location, quality, activities and overall experience.
Great communication right from the start, followed by excellent organisation for our stay, and, thereafter, by fantastic experience at the island.
We have stayed at the infinity pool villa at the sunset side - newly renovated, spacious, thoughtful design are just a few things to mention. I would choose these villas again any time of the day over ocean villas. A bit of an issue with soundproofing, maybe, but then, how much time do you spend inside when you are in paradise?
The local reef was just around the corner, and with a number of free intro activities, we could snorkel and kayak to explore.
Drinks and beverage menu was extensive and impressive. Bar and restaurant service was kind and attentive. Food was better than expected for the islands, with themed nights and live stations. Yes, maybe we could see more seafood or local flavours, but it was still very very good overall. Unfortunately, Azzurro restaurant didn't quite manage to deliver based on all the hoopla surrounding it, but it was still nice to visit for lunch/drinks. Seafood pizza with cheese, however, may bring a heartattack to some hard-core Italians :)
Finally, reception and housekeeping team did wonders in terms of personalised service and doing that extra step to make things special.
Our big big thanks to Alina, Sophie, Ijlal, Ajija and Trimal who brought us smiles every single day. We will certainly miss you!

I recently had the pleasure of spending four incredible days with my family at Angsana Maldives Velaveru, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality that set the tone for our stay.
The resort itself is nothing short of paradise. The stunning overwater villas provided breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life. We loved waking up to the sound of waves and the sight of the sun rising over the ocean. The spacious accommodations were beautifully designed, combining luxury with comfort, making it a perfect retreat for families.
One of the highlights of our stay was the variety of activities available. We enjoyed snorkeling in the nearby coral reefs, where we encountered colorful fish and even a few friendly turtles. The resort also offered excellent water sports options, and we had a blast kayaking and paddleboarding together as a family.
Dining at Angsana was a delight. The restaurants offered a fantastic selection of cuisine, from local Maldivian dishes to international favorites. We particularly enjoyed the beachfront dining experience, where we savored delicious meals while listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. Their attentiveness and genuine smiles made us feel at home. They were always ready to assist with anything we needed, whether it was arranging activities or providing recommendations.
Overall, our four days at Angsana Maldives Velaveru were filled with relaxation, adventure, and cherished family moments. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a dreamy getaway in the Maldives. We can't wait to return!

Stayed there for 6 nights and for me and for the price I paid, wasn’t ideal ( expected way more ) I travel often and the place wasn’t the best for me, Maldives are very nice in general but the resort is not ( for me ).
1. Didnt like that the private pool didn’t have heater in the water and the water was almost impossible to swim in it.
2. The staff at the restaurant ( Hathim ) told me ur not allowed to have breakfast twice when I only went to the beach to take a picture and came back ( it was cloudy that day and when the sun came out I went to take a picture and they removed my food and cleaned the table, and the fact he was loud and it embarrassed me infront of people.
3. The buffet in general, doesn’t have variety, compare to Bali resorts and Mauritius.
4. Lack of activities in general. I understand that it’s a place for relaxing and stuff but don’t forget ur on an island and nowhere u can go besides doing what they have.
5. Boat rides between the villas and the main island that have the main reception is so long that basically I lost almost 6 to 7 hours in 6 days saying there waiting for the next boat to go back to my room… ( the island and the rooms are separated unlike other resorts).
There is way issues but am too tired to explain them, after all, never going to Maldives again, I
Have been to Seychelles and Mauritius in the past, but I left Maldives for the end hopping. It’s the best option unfortunately was very disappointing experience from this resort.
After all, thats just my opinion and it might be ideal for everyone.

I have been to Maldives thrice but this property has an edge over the other two… The rooms are beautiful. The service was up to the mark, even though they don’t have an Indian chef, they managed to give us Indian food. According to the way we liked it. Snorkelling is amazing with sights of stringray, baby shark and all sorts of corals.
