My wife and I were completely blown away by our stay at the Tamarina this time last year. We felt compelled to return (this time with our very best friends of some 40 years), always with the thought if would be as good as last time ….. well is was not as good ….. it was even better. All the things we already knew to be true about this place (see our previous Trip Adviser report from a year ago) and more, made even better by being able to share our unbelievably marvellous experience, unashamedly with another couple with whom we are so close.
The entire experience of the vacation orchestrated from the very start to the very end did not at all disappoint. But let us focus at least on the Tamarina, the main star of the event, Paradise indeed. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were completely relaxed, everything had been taken care of; cocktails on the bar veranda whilst the finishing touches were made to our room, Tania welcoming and refreshing our minds of the facilities available, reminding us of the pleasures to come and suggesting things we might like to do during our stay. This hotel is simply mellifluous, harmonious, comfortable and friendly.
The rooms are extremely capacious, we had opted for top floor garden view, quiet and peaceful. We were genuinely spoiled for space with all you need for a vacation such as this. The restaurant is open air with magnificent views of the hills and the bay, quite idyllic.
We opted for half board, the breakfast lacks for nothing with whatever variety to start your day you can imagine and more. The evening buffet selection is simply too much, the choice and mouth-watering feast on offer every night different, interesting, tasty and very well prepared.
Tania questioned whether we had tried the local Creole cuisine, we had not and for our final evening despite the hotel providing yet another glorious culinary spread, the Chef Luciano treated us to our very own entire dinner of Creole dishes, an amazing treat.
The whole set up of the hotel is matched and supported by an army of staff ranging from garden and maintenance, through room cleaners, waiters, waitresses, kitchen staff, chefs, drivers, security, the works. Guest facing staff are always recipients of applause such as Tania and her team of the front office, Emilie and Melanie ready to greet you at the bar and restaurant, the effervescent Jenice who seems to be everywhere all the time with her happy face, Arnaud the very accommodating driver, Bhowan the tall and engaging security gentleman in the reception area. We will not forget the contribution made by the invisible, back of house staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the front of house shine. They all contribute with a cheery smile and greeting.
For our final breakfast morning Jenice pulled out all the stops, a personally decorated table, discretely solitary with view to remember that you just cannot tire of.
This truly is the most wonderful place to stay, relax, enjoy the weather, the rest, the sea and the views enhanced by the cocoon of warmth and friendliness.
As I stated last time and will repeat myself “This hotel shines not just because of its beautiful location and fabulous layout and design but because it is complemented and completed by an amazing team of people. A hidden gem, a quality hotel delivering way above its 4-star rating.”

I stayed at Tamarina in January of 2024 and had a wonderful stay. The staff were absolutely amazing!
The food was good and plentiful and beautiful areas to relax in.
The rooms could do with a bit of an update (I believe this is in progress) and some of the loungers as well. Lovely access to walks on the beach and gorgeous opportunities to watch the sunset!

The staff are lovely and extremely attentive . Beautiful location you can walk right out of the hotel and onto the beach. Shopping centre located right down the road as well as Casela parks. Place is safe with security on the beach and a gate house. The hotel will also organise day trips to anywhere on the island with trusted drivers. Would recommend to anyone visiting Mauritius. Few people mention the cleanliness of the beach, the island is prone to cyclones which can obviously effect the beach however the hotel has a staff dedicated to the cleaning of the beach and the gardens of the hotel.
