We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Anantara Banana Island Resort, and it was truly a memorable experience for our entire family. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a very pleasant and warm welcome by Ms. Thiru, which set the tone for a fantastic stay. The rooms were excellent—spacious, beautifully maintained, and extremely comfortable. The adventure park was a great highlight, and the water park provided lovely moments of fun and excitement for our kids. They had an amazing time, which made our stay even more special. The beach is stunning—clean, serene, and perfect for relaxing. A special mention to the extraordinarily polite and courteous staff throughout the resort. Everyone was consistently helpful and welcoming. The buggy service was super efficient and prompt, making movement around the island very convenient. We would also like to specially thank Mr. Sharukh, the chef at Q Lounge, for the excellent food. The quality, taste, and presentation were outstanding and truly elevated our dining experience. Overall, Anantara Banana Island offers luxury, comfort, exceptional hospitality, and fantastic activities for both adults and children. Highly recommended, and we look forward to visiting again!

One of the best all inclusive resorts I have ever stayed at. We spent a full week here over New Year’s and it was genuinely amazing. It is perfect if you like to stay active while still having a relaxed, fun time with your family. The sports facilities are excellent, with tennis courts, padel, a gym, and plenty of activities throughout the day. Getting into the city was also very easy. Boats were simple to book and made day trips effortless. New Year’s Eve was a highlight. The party was super fun, even though there were no fireworks. What really sets this place apart is the all inclusive offering. It is not limited to buffet dining. The package includes multiple à la carte restaurants around the island, and they feel like real standalone restaurants with a huge selection of dishes. Everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommended if you want a true all inclusive experience with great food, strong sports options, and an easy, stress free stay.

The hotel itself is large and visually impressive. The rooms are very spacious; we booked the Premium Sea View, which offered beautiful views and plenty of comfort. Housekeeping was excellent, with the room being cleaned twice a day, which we really appreciated. The hotel staff were genuinely friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. However, when it comes to the overall experience, things become less impressive. There isn’t much to do on the island itself, and many of the available activities require additional payment, which quickly adds up. There isn’t even any entertainment in the evenings, which made the stay feel quite quiet and, at times, a bit boring. There are two swimming pools, one for children and one adults-only pool. The adults pool, however, is quite small. The adventure park was actually a positive highlight and something we would definitely recommend. Another surprising point is that you can purchase a day pass for approximately €90. With this pass, you basically get access to almost all the same facilities as hotel guests. On top of that, you even receive 200 QAR in credit to spend on food and drinks. Considering this, taking a day pass actually seems like a much better option. It really makes you question what is so special about paying a significantly higher amount to stay overnight, apart from breakfast and the room itself. Honestly, I cannot help but feel that many of the 4- and 5-star reviews are likely from guests who visited with a day pass rather than stayed overnight. If you only come for a few hours and receive credits to spend, the experience will naturally feel different compared to paying a premium rate for a full stay. The biggest downside for us was the extremely high cost of food and drinks in the restaurants. The prices are simply not justified by the quality. When you are already paying a significant amount for your stay, you would at least expect lunch or dinner to be included. It genuinely makes you wonder what exactly you are paying for. If you are mainly visiting for the beach, I would honestly recommend going to a beach in Doha instead. I have experienced many resorts over the years, and unfortunately, this one does not offer good value for money. Overall, it is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff and spacious rooms, but in terms of overall experience and value, it is simply not worth the high price.

My family of 3 are residents of Qatar. We stayed at banana island for 2 nights during our daughter’s mid-winter school break. The weather was amazing during this time of year (February). The hospitality on the entire island was second to none, everyone from the doorman Luqman to the servers at the restaurants were so friendly. Whether you’re a local in Qatar or foreigner passing through, Banana Island resort is highly recommended.
