The hotel has all the right ingredients; fantastic private beach, lush gardens with palm trees and fantastic views from sea-view rooms. The implementation is not there however. Our room was laid out really well, but was a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. The long balcony and view made up for this though. The all-inclusive option of one drink a day is stingy in this day and age. The cost of drinks and even water meant a trip to the shops every couple of days to stock up on water and beer/wine. We could only use one restaurant for our breakfast and lunch which became repetitive very quickly. I would like to call out Maggie from Customer Relations, as she was really helpful! Communication within the hotel was quite bad. We never knew what was happening or when. The mini train down to the beach was undergoing repairs and the spa was being refurbished (we had our included massage in a converted hotel room). We missed out on happy hours due to conflicting signs and our anniversary dinner booking was overwritten with a private function. I'd say our trip was average, and I wish we'd gone somewhere else for our 10-year wedding anniversary.

Hotel is beautiful, the most amazing welcome from staff. Rooms were very clean and modern. The view from the balcony... beautiful. The staff couldnt do anymore for you, room service was always quick and top quality. Location is very private and quiet, perfect if you want to stay away from the crowds but also not too far from anything you need.

Whilst the overall appearance outside is a bit dated, the rooms were stunning and modern, we had a huge suite with balcony and ocean view. The staff were lovely, respectful and very helpful. Our rooms were cleaned every day without hassle. There is plenty of choice for food options with three on site restaurants and a couple bars as well. The pool and beach are amazing to relax with a book and drink and swim. The only thing is location wise it’s a bit far from some things but not impossible to get to by taxi or Uber. There is a free shuttle to take you to the town as well which runs every fifteen min. Loved our stay here and would come back again.

My family and I had a great time here, staying in the Absolute suite, which is away from the main hotel and felt more like a home than a hotel room. I can appreciate other reviews on unremarkable service and being away from any of the tourist centre activities - some staff try, with limited English, to help, some don't think about service levels at all. We enjoyed being in this quiet area and private family-friendly beach with golden sand and clear waters and never felt isolated as we used the grab app to get around. We loved the suite so much that we will definitely keep this on the radar for a revisit!

This is a hard review. Did I have a good time. Yes. Were aspects infuriating. Yes. Would I come again. No. We booked through luxury escapes but did the hotel feel luxury. No. Pros Food is nice (if abit bland). Pools are lovely and warm. With great vistas. Beach is gorge with plenty of loungers. Bamboo Bar was fun and had a great lady working there. Easy to book excursions. Coral Island excursion was great. Good for children with an area of the pool specifically for them. And a playground area by the beach. Shuttle to get over the hill to the local shops was regular. Room is spacious. Showers have good pressure and heat. The staff are friendly. The resort is quiet if you like quiet. Cons No mention of 'coupon' menus at checkin which meant we had special menus. Friend had to stay in a weird annex building that had less than desirable views and a horrid hill to go up and down (there was an offer of a shuttle however) 7 days ordering from a small vegetarian menu can get repetitive. Cleaning carts left in hallways for extended periods of time. First dinner, it was 30 minutes before we were given water (despite repeat askings). No pool service. Lack of service at main restaurant. For instance, I went to the bar to order a poolside snack, noone served me despite 6 staff members standing around watching me (in the end the chef came out and served me). No real atmosphere. No pool music, just drilling. Spa closed for maintenance, long walk to the rooms they are using for treatments Cable car to beach closed for maintenance. The drilling really takes away from the relaxing atmosphere. 6 improvements needed 1. Change the name of the 'coupon menu'. Maybe the 'all inclusive menu'. Booked through Luxury Escapes - there is  nothing luxury about being given a coupon for food. 2. Add some pool muwsic. This will add some vibe and life around pool. 3. Add pool service, even if its a QR code. 4. Give the rooms some love - balconies really need a sand and paint. 4. Add vegetarian food to the 'coupon'menu at main restaurant or train staff better about accomodating vegetarians. 5. Staff need more training, for instance, dont bicker over who has to serve someone.
