We enjoyed our honeymoon at Cinammon Dhonveli. We spent 10 nights in an over-water suite and upgraded to premium all-inclusive, which the main attraction for us was enjoying the excursions. We enjoyed excursions (sunset cruise, sunset fishing, dolphin watching, snorkelling), couples massage, meal on the beach, beach party, crab racing.
The room was gorgeous, spacious, and plenty of the usual toiletries provided, as well as a shaving kit and toothbrushes and toothpaste. Daily cleans were carried out to a high standard.
We needed to access the on-site doctor whilst on holiday, and he was effective, professional, and approachable - the cost was affordable, too.
The on-site shop is expensive, so be sure to pack plenty of sun cream and snorkelling equipment if you plan on checking out the sea life.
Special mentions to Ram and Crab Master at the rehendhi bar, Khair in the restaurant (best pizza and pasta chef!), and Sattar at the pool. They really looked after us and enhanced our experience at Dhonveli 🥰 The island, the staff, the food, the animals, the sunsets - all of it is just amazing! We are definitely hoping to return in the future!

Incredible resort, highly recommend. We stayed in a water bungalow with 3 adults so the staff ensured to add another bed. The room opens up to the surrounding water. Facilities are new and modern. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Food options are great and amazing dinning area. The entertainment options could be improved to cater for wider audience and better quality artist perhaps. They made my bday extra special with a bday cake at dinner and made up the bed with bamboo "happy bday" sign. There is also a waiting area for before and after check out as flight times are not frequent. Would be great to service coffee and tea in the room instead of just water and the TV did not work in the waiting room so have your own entertainment.

I stayed at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives from June 18 to June 24, 2024, and it was an incredible experience! The staff's hospitality and the resort's beauty made my stay unforgettable.
Reception: Meera welcomed me warmly and handled my check-in efficiently. She escorted me to my villa, providing a resort tour along the way. Her friendliness and the sight of rays and a reef shark during our walk were delightful!
Housekeeping: Mohammed provided excellent housekeeping services, ensuring my stay was comfortable. He was always polite, friendly, and took the time to learn about me and share his story.
Dining: Judy, the Rehendhi restaurant hostess, went above and beyond to make every dining experience exceptional. She consistently welcomed me with genuine warmth and attention to detail. Judy took the time to stop by my table to check in, offering personalized recommendations and remembering my preferences, which made each meal feel uniquely catered to me. Her exceptional service and caring nature turned every visit to the restaurant into a memorable experience. Sharif, a server, provided outstanding service and explained interesting facts about the Maldives and tidal levels.
The combination of breathtaking surroundings and exceptional service from Meera, Mohammed, Judy, and Sharif made my stay perfect. I highly recommend Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives for an exceptional vacation experience!

Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives: A Perfect Anniversary Getaway
Our Experience
My wife, daughter and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the stunning Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives. This was our second visit, and it exceeded our expectations once again.
The Resort
The resort itself is breathtaking, with pristine white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush tropical greenery. The water bungalows and villas are truly next-level, offering unparalleled comfort and luxury.
The Staff
The staff at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives are incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. From the general manager, Mr. Malan Fernando, to the assistant manager, Mr. Kansun Samarakoon, and the F&B manager, Mr. Geeth, everyone went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. We were particularly impressed by the service we received at Maakana restaurant, thanks to the excellent management of Mr. Nuwan, and the friendly demeanor of Malinda at the sunset bar. Dj Herma in Raalhu bar is also a amazing entertainer. One of the best Djs I have met.
The Food
The food at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives is absolutely delicious. We indulged in a variety of cuisines, from fresh seafood to international dishes. It's no wonder we gained a few pounds during our stay!
Overall
Our anniversary celebration at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives was truly magical. The combination of the stunning resort, exceptional staff, and delicious food made it the perfect getaway. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable vacation.

The island itself is nice although there is not a lot to do other than the organised activities which you will need to pay for. The shops are incredibly expensive ($120 for a mask and snorkle, $60 for some sunscreen, $30 for some tampons etc)
The main issue however is their complete disregard for food allergies. Upon arrival we were asked if we had a food allergy, we said yes (dairy/lactose) this was noted on our room notes, we were then lead to lunch as our room was not yet ready. When we arrived at our restaurant (you are allocated one of the 3 restaurants on the island) we noticed a number of dishes were not correctly labelled (eg: a dish containing parmesan not labelled as having milk) we put this down to possibly a single error as these things do happen. The longer we stayed the worse this got as more and more dishes that obviously contain dairy/lactose were incorrectly labelled (margarita pizza not containing milk etc). After speaking to one of the chefs it turned out that around half of the dishes were wrongly labelled. We spoke to some of the deputy managers (one was very rude) and eventually the lead manager for the resort, whilst he said he understood our concerns he gave us 2 options, 1. Speak to the chef and trust him or option 2. Leave the resort and go elsewhere!
They were kind enough to drop off a fruit platter and a bottle of champagne as an apology, rather fittingly the champagne contained traces of milk in it!
They ask for allergy information so that guests can be catered for yet seem to ignore this information completely, on the evening of our wedding anniversary they presented us with a cake which was mostly chocolate/cream!! If anyone has a serious allergy their health could be in danger when considering how remote the island is to the nearest hospital (25 mins on a speedboat) overall the island is nice enough but as stated above there are some very real and serious issues that need resolving.
