Had my experience in Maldives for the first time in Furaveri and couldn’t asked for more! I got an overwater villa and the room was perfect! clean, beautiful decorated and well maintained. The whole resort was super well maintained and structured for our comfort! Also all the staff we were in touch were helpful and efficient! From our housekeeper, to restaurant to the reception!

Disappointing Service and Rude Staff – Not Worth the Price
I regret to say that the only reason for giving this resort 1 star is the extremely poor service provided by some of the staff. I had read a similar review before my stay, but unfortunately, I did not take it seriously, and now I deeply regret that decision. The manager’s cheap mentality and failure to deliver even basic services were the primary issues.
Despite paying thousands of dollars for a premium all-inclusive package, the resort failed to provide the level of service I expected. Host Tamanna, in particular, was rude and unhelpful, often offline and unresponsive when needed. She really needs to understand what hospitality means before serving guests.
Even after paying for premium ocean villas, they were unwilling to fulfill basic requests, and at times, it seemed like they were doing everything possible to deny our needs. One of the most shocking aspects was the staff’s insistence on charging for things that should have been part of our package. I was particularly surprised to be told there would be extra charges for something as simple as a laundry bag.
On the positive side, some aspects of the resort were good: the buggy drivers were always helpful, and the chef at Oceanspice restaurant went out of his way to ensure our dining experience was comfortable. The resort itself is beautifully built, but the service—driven by a cheap mentality—is what truly lets it down. The staff’s rude behavior and their reluctance to fulfill even basic requests without charging extra are major turn-offs.
What completely ruined our experience, though, was the way they handled my special request for an anniversary decoration. Not only did they require a marriage certificate to fulfill this request, but even after I provided it, they denied it. The reason given was that our anniversary was the day before our stay, so they couldn’t accommodate the request. To me, this was extremely disappointing, especially considering that it was a special occasion for my wife and me. Their solution was for us to take time off work and visit the resort exactly on the date of our anniversary to receive the benefits—an absurd expectation. Should honeymooners be expected to stay on their wedding day to get the honeymoon perks?
Additionally, the reservation system for the resort’s restaurants was absolutely pathetic. They required reservations at least two days in advance for all dining options, and when we tried to visit the restaurants during our stay, we were often denied entry. The most absurd thing is that nearly 80% of the restaurants were empty whenever we tried to dine there. It seemed like they were intentionally limiting reservations for à la carte dining, forcing guests into the buffet restaurants, perhaps to minimize the effort needed for à la carte services.
In my opinion, this resort, which claims to be a top luxury destination, is more akin to a 3-star experience in terms of service. Even a 3-star resort could have offered better service and hospitality.
As one reviewer mentioned, if you’re planning to visit without any expectations of service, then perhaps this resort might work for you. But if you’re looking for good service and a memorable experience, I would advise you to avoid this place at all….

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Furaveri Maldives for a 4-day vacation, and it was an incredibly relaxing and memorable experience. I spent time in both the Beach Pool Villa and the Over Water Ocean Pool Villa, and both offered stunning views and top-notch amenities.
The highlight of the stay was definitely the staff. The buggy drivers were always prompt and helpful, making sure we got around the resort with ease. The team at the main restaurant stood out for their exceptional service, particularly Mr. Bhaskar, who went above and beyond to make our dining experiences special.
However, the only downside of our stay was our host, Mr. Sam. Unfortunately, he did not seem to be very engaged or attentive, which was a bit disappointing given the otherwise high level of service throughout the resort.
Overall, Furaveri Maldives is a beautiful destination, with amazing villas, wonderful staff, and a serene atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to others, with the hope that they have a more engaged host like the rest of the amazing team!

We planned to have a vacation to celebrate our anniversary and the 6-month birthday of our baby girl. We booked this resort and told them about these special occasions, and they asked me to provide the marriage certificate, which I sent to them. However, they came back to say that the marriage date was not within the period of our stay, and their policy is not to provide anything if it is not in the same period, despite the fact that we arrived on the first weekend after our anniversary (5 days after the marriage date). This clearly shows how cheap the mentality of the resort manager is.
Furthermore, the manager is so cheap that he did not hire someone for the pool and public beach area. There were no beach towels left, and many kids came to the towel cabinet looking for towels to dry themselves after swimming, only to find none left. I contacted the front desk team via WhatsApp after asking multiple staff members to request the responsible person to provide towels, but no one showed up. The front desk team appeared online three times without making any effort to reply until I texted them saying it was disrespectful not to answer. Only then did they respond. After waiting for about an hour, they finally brought towels. On top of that, the beach towels were literally frayed and very, very old—definitely not safe to be used for kids. Again, this is all due to the cheap mentality of the manager who refuses to hire someone to supervise that area.
In the villa, there was a coffee machine but no coffee capsules, which is very weird. When I asked about it, they said it was the resort’s policy to only provide them when guests ask, and you have to keep asking every day as they don’t replace what you consume. Again, this is another reflection of the cheap mentality of the manager.
We also wanted to celebrate our daughter’s 6-month birthday, so we called in-room dining to request a brownie cake with “Happy Birthday” written on the plate. They panicked and said they would call back. It turned out they thought we were asking for a free cake, even though we clearly stated that we wanted to order one. When they finally brought the cake, it tasted bad. Once again, the cheap mentality of the manager negatively impacted his team.
Our experience at Rayvilla Restaurant was also disappointing. We went there for lunch and arrived at 2 PM, which was 30 minutes before closing. The staff told us they could not host us because they were fully booked for lunch. However, the restaurant was completely empty. When we questioned how they could be fully booked yet no guests had arrived so close to closing time, they claimed they were waiting for a group of 26 people. After arguing with them, they finally gave us a table, and by the time the restaurant closed, none of the 26 people they were supposedly expecting had shown up. They just wanted to refuse us for no reason or probably to close the kitchen earlier.
As for the villa itself, the only downside is that the terrace has no shaded area at all, making it impossible to stay outside during the daytime because the sun is too strong. This is a big issue for those who want to relax outdoors without being exposed to direct sunlight all day.
If you are coming for a normal vacation, the resort is not a bad option, but if you plan to celebrate a special occasion, just stay away from this resort. Don’t expect anything from a resort managed by a cheap mentality manager.
The cheap mentality of the manager ruins the whole experience. As further proof of this, the welcoming papers we received stated that, according to resort policy, all guests would be received with refreshing towels and a coconut drink. This did not happen, which suggests that it might have been a policy from the previous manager that the new manager forgot to remove. Another clear example of how poorly managed the resort is.
I feel it is important to warn those who plan to celebrate a special occasion at this resort. If I had known these issues before booking, I would have never chosen this resort, but unfortunately, it was too late.
