Spent some time researching hotels in the area and chose the Riu Oasis. We were completely satisfied with everything. We were especially happy with the food and service. Both were excellent. The best thing about this hotel for me was the location. The beach exit is right at the start of the Maspalomas Dunes area which is truly special. You can walk 10 minutes along the beach and feel like you are in the desert. To me this sets it apart from the other 5 star hotels in the area.

Good 4* experience. Nice pools, without tacky ambient music. 2 excellent specialty restaurants well worth booking (especially Botanico). Great breakfast buffet spread too. All the staff are unfailingly polite. Note no food available after 21.30 if you arrive late.

Rarely go to the same place twice - this is an exception. A quality hotel, fantastic food, immaculately clean with friendly and efficient staff. Excellent location by the beach, views over beach and see from our balcony window. Bus station short walk away with buses to rest of island. Not cheap, but imo great value.

Such a peaceful and relaxing hotel. The way they split the 3 pools out really made a difference to you not feeling packed in like you might do at other hotels. The pool by the beach exit felt particularly relaxing. The staff were absolutely amazing, a particular shout-out to Gustavo and the front desk team for speeding up our check-in and taking us straight to the restaurant to make sure we made dinner. The staff also provided a complimentary bottle of cava in our room for my partner’s birthday and everyone was just so friendly. Finally, brilliant location. Straight onto the beach to easily get to the dunes of Maspalomas or to the fun bars and restaurants of Melonares along the beachside boardwalk. My one piece of advice was if you were travelling in the winter, pay a bit more and book a seaside facing room as these get the sun. However, that was nothing to do with the hotel and a decision that my partner and me made on booking to spend a bit less money. Our room was a great size with a nice big bathroom and powerful shower.

Good location, decent food, convenient Avis car rental kiosk in the lobby with car delivery in 1 hour. However all the swimming pools are shallow, just 110cm instead of standard 130cm. Room service have a bad habit to break in into your room 3 times a day. The inside lock doesn't prevent it at all, it just opens if you push the door handle outside. Use DND hanger.
