Spent a couple of nights as a staycation in this hotel which we previously visited and loved. It’s been a few years and sadly it’s starting to show. First visit was impeccable but standards have started to slip.
Cleanliness was the primary gripe. Although we got upgraded to club rooms which were nice and spacious, the room did have a stale cheesy smell on arrival. Also noticed a hairball in the sliding door tracks which never got cleaned out during our stay. Also the lifts on our wing, only one was working and sadly it also had a smell that wasn’t particularly pleasant. The rest of the hotel was nicely scented.
Our stay was in December 2024 and there is currently a lot of construction works happening at the beach next door. This was very annoying when trying to relax at the beach. We went once and then chose to go to the pool instead. The noise sadly was audible throughout the day and until late night which meant balcony relaxation also wasn’t an option. The room sound proofing was decent so couldn’t hear much inside until late night when the resort was silent. This definitely ruined the ambience of our stay significantly.
Staff were all incredibly helpful and attentive and aiming to please from reception to breakfast and all restaurant staff inclusive.
I did ask about extending one night but the quote was based on our upgraded room which was expensive so we opted out. Had they offered original rates and upgraded again I would 100% have stayed another night despite the issues flagged but over we made the best of the time so still had an enjoyable stay.

A special thanks to Hafiz, the housekeeping in charge, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Hafiz and his team maintained our room to the highest standards, with every detail meticulously attended to. His warm and professional demeanor made us feel truly welcomed, and he regularly checked in to see if we needed anything, adding those extra thoughtful touches that made our stay special.
Thanks to Hafiz and the entire team at the InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah, we had a memorable and relaxing holiday. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience with outstanding service. We can’t wait to return!

The Intercontinental at Ras Al Khaimah is truly a five star resort with all the amenities and attention to detail one should expect. We booked a three day stay, mid week from our home in Dubai, looking for a luxurious getaway on the beach. The service was excellent at every level from check in, dining, poolside and beach. We stayed in a villa which was 10 times better and bigger than our apartment! The choice of dining venues was a treat and they were even accommodating to difficult requests. The construction nearby was only occasionally noticed, the beach and water was clean and groomed daily, just like the rooms, clean and neat! We look forward to staying with you again soon!

Very Disappointing Experience - Poor Communication and No any notification
I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. I made a reservation through Booking.com and was never sent any reminder or notification about my upcoming stay. Due to this lack of communication, I missed the chance to cancel the reservation in time, which resulted in a cancellation fee.
(The hotel reservation supervisor called Mohamed said they did not receive my email address, but how they sent me email with apology after they charged the full amount?)
When I contacted the hotel about this issue, they were unhelpful, and I was informed that no reminders had been sent out, despite their responsibility to do so. Booking.com even mentioned they were willing to waive the fee if the hotel agreed, but the hotel did not make any effort to assist.
This experience was frustrating and unsatisfactory. I expect better customer service and proper communication, especially when booking through trusted platforms. I would not recommend this hotel to others based on my experience.
