Possibly THE BEST hotel that I have ever stayed in the world for it's best value. A proper 4* experience right by the ocean (with a breathtaking ocean view room) for a mere £83 per night!! A massive selection of fresh breakfast included and I've never been to a hotel do far anywhere in the world that does breakfast quite like this place. A stay at Mount Lavinia hotel is a MUST!! I've stayed there on two different occasions now ....pure brilliance and outstanding value for money.

Stay away from this hotel. It's not worth it at all. It's over priced. It's worth barely a star. 1) AC doesn't work in the rooms. Lots of people complaining regarding this. Only the AC near the piano in the lobby works and near the baggage check. They gave us a fan so that we feel better. 2) Food is below average. Not worth it at all. 3) Bathtub chipped and broken at multiple places 4) Watch out for Cockroaches in the bathroom 5) The faucet pipe is not available from floor 2-5. It's only on the first floor. And the one we had in our bathroom was broken. Horrible. 6) The beach was badly maintained The one star is only for the entrance into the hotel and the area around it, the balcony beach view and the sunset view near the pool area.

Have been here before. Still very much as it always has been: great service, friendly service good food and 3 bars! Sea is unsuitable for swimming due to rip currents but the hotel has its own beach and pool for swimming.

Went for a buffet(night). Varied menu with a number of stations. Delicious and wonderfully presented. Menus for people with specific diets (eg:vegan). Stayed until about after 10 ( buffet closes at 10.30pm). A bit of nostalgia as we had our homecoming night there so many years back.

I recently visited the hotel in an afternoon. At a first glimpse, all I noticed was lack of maintenance. From the very entrance to the indoors, the hotel premises have not been properly maintained. The pond near the fountain had not been cleaned in ages. Please take due care on the maintenance of the hotel. It's tragic to witness such a magnificent hotel, in a state like this!
