We had the absolute pleasure of spending our honeymoon at this stunning beach resort – and it was simply perfect!
The beach area is absolutely breathtaking: soft, white sand, water ind different shades of blue and nice sunbeds to relax in peace. What impressed us the most was the exceptional friendliness of the staff. Every single person was warm, attentive, and made us feel truly special – definitely a highlight of our stay!
The food was also very good. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the variety was nice, everything was fresh, and the flavors were exceptional. We especially loved that they offered plenty of vegetarian options.
The pool area with the pool bar was another highlight. We enjoyed sipping cocktails right in the water and soaking up the sun on the comfortable loungers in a relaxed atmosphere. The drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are very tasty! Security guards are 24/7 present and therefore the beach area ist very secure and you can leave you‘re belongings while taking a swim.
Cleanliness throughout the entire resort was also good. Both the rooms and all public areas were always well-maintained.
For us, this resort was the perfect choice for our honeymoon. Romance, relaxation, and luxury – all perfectly combined. We highly recommend the Beach Resort and are already looking forward to coming back!

I just checked in at Nungwi Beach Resort in Zanzibar, and it’s been a huge disappointment so far. I’ve already paid for my stay, which was very expensive for a 4-star hotel, so there’s no turning back. The rooms are smaller than expected, and despite specifically requesting an ocean view, I got no ocean view at all. Instead, I ended up on the ground floor facing the noisy pool area with kids running around all day.
The worst part was the strong chemical smell in the room. It was so overpowering that it caused us to experience heart palpitations and difficulty breathing. We couldn’t stay in the room, and after waiting at the reception, the manager finally spoke to us. She said she would investigate the room with the housekeeper, but no immediate solution was offered. After a long flight to Zanzibar, we feel completely let down and disappointed.
As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I thought I’d get better service and privileges, but that’s clearly not the case here. It’s been a frustrating start to what we hoped would be a great trip :(

The hotel experience was disappointing. I had planned a proposal and reached out in August, but after 20+ emails, the guest services team never helped with the arrangements. I then had to make other plans. While the free lunch was a nice gesture, the overall experience, including the food and beach, just didn’t feel worth the price. You’re much better off going to a smaller more boutique option, it’s genuine and a fraction of the cost.

Did not enjoy our stay here. The resort is not on a beach. It's a shoreline in which there is no land to sit on and lots of vendors trying to sell stuff. If you stay on the resort, the food and drinks are tasteless, and the staff is not very accommodating. They seemed to be overwhelmed and unhappy. I wanted an African experience, but I felt like I was in Europe or the USA. The buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner had similar foods every day. My pictures came out nice, but that was the only Parr of trip that was good. To manager, please pay your staff more and provide them with more rest time. You are charging high-end prices for low-budget service.

Not very clean; and looks outdated. The rooms are wooden, so during our stay, the floor and furniture was moist the whole time. We intended to stay longer but checked out after one night.
Overall would not recommend and this should not be considered a marriot hotel.
