We had a wonderful stay here while visiting Madeira.Perfect location, close to great restaurants, in an area that is easily walkable close to the sea. The staff were the highlight as they were always friendly and accommodating. Very knowledgeable and gave us great advice with our touring and restaurant selection. Would highly recommend for cleanliness, location and hospitality. The breakfast was fabulous and the views were great. Looking forward to returning next year !

A beautiful hotel with stunning views, in a nice location. It was nice and quiet, although it was the middle of November, so not peak season. Our room was a good size, very comfortable, and clean, as was the whole place. We were bed and breakfast, and the breakfast selection was decent and of good quality. The staff were all friendly. I'm sure that we will visit again in the future, as there's lots more to do and see in the area. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance, but some of the roads are quite steep to walk up. Funchal isn't far away and is a nice place to stroll around and grab a drink or some food.

If you love the ocean, staying in the duplex suite should be on your bucket list. This is one of the most spectacular rooms I've stayed in in the world. I had been pretty disappointed with high-end hotels in Madeira (many of them feel like a retirement home that might have been nice thirty years ago...) But this is different. A stunning stay at an absurdly good value. Highly recommend.

Wonderful hotel perfectly situated on Estrada monumental (?). Lots of coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, and Funchal town center is about 20 minutes walk. Woke up to the sound of ocean waves every morning, and you are right over the ocean. Only gripe was the breakfast buffet was repetitive after a week. Also wish they featured more local fruit.

Loved the Vila Lido. Lovely clean rooms, great view and comfortable beds. Excellent restaurants on the doorstep and big supermarket just across the road. We love walking and we walked into Funchal several times but our favourite walk by far was in the opposite direction on the lovely promenade, did this every day. You can walk along promenade for about 4km and there are plenty of places to get a drink or to eat along the way.
