A beautiful hotel with stunning views, in a nice location. It was nice and quiet, although it was the middle of November, so not peak season. Our room was a good size, very comfortable, and clean, as was the whole place. We were bed and breakfast, and the breakfast selection was decent and of good quality. The staff were all friendly. I'm sure that we will visit again in the future, as there's lots more to do and see in the area. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance, but some of the roads are quite steep to walk up. Funchal isn't far away and is a nice place to stroll around and grab a drink or some food.

Lovely room with a wonderful sea view. Big terrace with sun beds and table and chairs. The staff are great and do a wonderful job of making our room slick and span on a daily basis. The location is lovely and quiet with lots of local restaurants and a supermarket close by. It’s a bit of a walk to town but there are 2 taxi ranks nearby and the bus stop is at the top of the road.

My husband and I stayed here for a week on our honeymoon. We LOVED this hotel! Our bed was very comfortable and our room had a balcony with a sea view. The pool is very nice and you can access the ocean from the pool area. There are lots of fish around the rocks at the hotel - we spent lots of time swimming! Breakfast was great every day and the view from the restaurant was even better. Most importantly, the staff were very kind and helpful. We would stay again!

Absolutely stunning hotel, that checks all the boxes. Unique location - it's overlooking the ocean from most of the rooms. Very peaceful & discreet place, but at the same time very close to Funchal. A huge plus is an extremely helpful & friendly staff. Highly recommended for anyone who's looking for a seaside gateway. I will definitely come back, but next time for longer!:)

We come back to Pestana at least twice a year. It offers us the best balance of easy access to Funchal, great sea swimming, many quality restaurants in walking distance and spacious facilities. The attached photo is the start of the 2025 New Year fireworks from the hotel balcony...
