The resort is a bit tatty, it's like a run down resort that they still think is luxury, the place isn't terrible but definitely needs a big overhaul.
Staff are a bit controlling, like you will only do what they expect you to do,
Everything is steered towards their overpriced low standard spa ......

I thought the location was wonderful, the resort was very clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly.
The food was hit and miss and very samey,
the drinks were poor wine glasses to small so had to keep reordering wine and the bar selection was limited unless you paid.

This is probably the least luxurious resort in Maldives, everything is at a basic level, from rooms to food to things to do in the resort. I don’t believe they have any return customers, I would definitely not coming back here. I have visited other resorts in the Maldives so this one doesn’t do justice to what Maldives is about. There is nothing wrong with this place but at the same time there is nothing memorably about it. The staff is trying their best to offer some services but there is so much they can do. They are very nice, the people working there is the only plus.
In summary, I recommend any other resort in the Maldives for a better experience

We spent 7 nights in an over water bungalow with pool, it was great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Huge variety of food/drinks available in the restaurant. Fun place to snorkel to. Thank you for a great stay.

Stayed at the South Palm Resort for 6 days on a water villa. The best thing about the Resort is the staff, they are amazing and very friendly. Our restaurant server was Hasha and she was a great person to talk with and was continually looking out for us. The food was good and inspired from many nearby locations. The water villa was a great experience and had a good view. Everything was great for the deal we got, which I would recommend going with a package deal. I was initially a bit worried after reading some reviews, but now I see those could have just been reviews from entitled travelers who want the Ritz and a Best Western price. We seen a few people like that! Only issue I had was wanting to travel to the next spot of land but wasn't allowed to swim the 15m channel and would have to pay a boat for transportation. There was a bridge but it is no longer in operation. So you are kept to the island, which was only a minor inconvenience as my wife and I like to walk around exploring.
