This is a beautiful resort in a wonderful location, but that’s the only positive here. Every employee is miserable and treats you like an inconvenience. By far the worst hospitality we’ve experienced in the Caribbean. The service alone ruined the trip.
The buffets are inadequate, overcrowded and low quality. Food trays were routinely empty and slow to be refilled. Drinks are served in old, beat up, cracked plastic cups.
The coffee shop? It takes about five minutes per customer. We waited forty minutes in a short line for coffee… and it was only offered in small cups! Absolute waste of time.
If you stay here, come for the view only.

Not a great trip for our family of 7 with 3 rooms ocean front.
Mosquitos in all 3 of our rooms with doors that don't seal, so more come in every night. Shower were luke warm. Bathrooms had no place to put your toiletries, just 2 pedestal sinks. I've been to many Islands and understand island time, but 45 minutes at Cocos restaurant that requires reservations before your first drinks come is not Island time. Waited another 1.5 hours to get food after being sat at the Dockside for lunch. The help just don't care and it's obvious. Any request is met with angst. I would stay away from this resort and I definitely won't be back. To bad since the resort location isn't a bad place. Fix the service mentality and fix the resort.

Disappointing. We stayed just before Christmas and let's say we won't be returning.
I've stayed here many times before but in the villas, therefore only using the facilities and not having to use restaurants. Previously it never been a problem other than being slightly outdated. However when staying this time we decided to use the hotel side of things.
Firstly the rooms were a little run down but tbh nothing was a problem, so no complaints about that.
90% of the staff were rude, unhelpful and everything seemed to be a chore, well that's how it came across. However I will say there are a few people who stood out, Michael on smoothies, Sam the chef and Elvis Bar staff. So thank you for getting us through it.
Multiple times we waited over 2 hours for the smallest of orders at lunch (1 portion of chips and small beef wrap) . My wife had a diary intolerance which made things incredibly difficult as nearly everything was covered in butter at the buffet. They did advise what had diary in when asked however nothing was labeled so every meal became a nightmare.
All Items listed vegan on the menu still contained cheese and diary products, so obviously NOT vegan.
We spoke to management to let them know of these problems but sadly nothing improved for the last few days.
No one seemed to be enjoying their time there so please read all the reviews before booking! We are really easy going and chilled people, we weren't expecting to be blown away, but St james was below average.

Right on marmora bay, and the beach on the ocean. Resort is beautiful tons of activities for the kids daily, many pools all over, bars and restaurants. Little pricey but your in vacation so you gotta treat ya self! Definitely one of the nicer resorts on the island. Room service keeps the room stocked with what you need and every employee is extremely nice and helpful! Really enjoyed my stay.

We had a fantastic stay here during early December 2024. Being the start of the season the resort was quiet which suited us perfectly (we are early 30s and were looking for a good all inclusive resort). The room was nice and clean and we had a lovely sea view. A couple of other specifics:
Food / restaurants - we found the food to be good with plenty of choice around the resort. Just be weary that some of the venues require booking in advance and this is enforced! The coffee shop was fantastic and open 24/7 so we were able to get a coffee whilst watching the sunrise during the first few days of jet lag.
Watersports / activities - these were great, just turn up and use the sailing cats, paddleboard, kayak, etc. There is a booking system but we found the equipment was pretty much always available. There is a daily entertainment schedule for tennis, pickleball, dominos, etc. which was fun. We also hired a car on site without any trouble.
Drinking Water situation - we had read a few reviews talking about this and we are not sure what the deal is and why everyone mentions it! You are served water at every meal and there are places to fill up a bottle in the resort. All the water is perfectly drinkable as there is an on site treatment plant.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and are already looking at booking again for next year. Thanks so much for a great holiday!
