I saw so many mixed reviews from the food, to the rooms, & service. Our experience with our friends this October 2024 was great! Our friends check in was smooth. Mine took a little longer but still got in our room before check in time. I thought that the food was actually pretty great. Not everything I ordered but every place I found great food. Service was really wonderful. We had preferred and a butler. Our butler Henry was amazing! So helpful. The bed was very comfortable & loved that we had several options for pillows. The a/c in our room got very cold to the point I had to turn it down. We were on the side with children & we had none but we honestly there was barely any signs of kids.

6 of us just went to Dreams Onyx. This is our second time here and the experience was even better than the first. Many of the staff remembered us and we were greeted with cocktails right off the bat. I was the only one with a gluten allergy and I was able to have fries, pancakes and cheese burgers and Martin went out of his was to be sure every restaurant we attended had options for me including pasta. Can't wait until we go back next year! I should say that all of the staff was courteous and friendly and went out of there way to be sure we were happy.

I recently travelled here for my 40th birthday. If your budget allows for it, I highly suggest the preferred section of the resort, as there are so many perks that come with it! Preferred pool, beach and restaurant. The rooms are spacious and clean. Probably one of the cleaner resorts I’ve been too. My butler Alvaro was amazing and attentive. Any request I had was literally fulfilled within minutes. He’s a 15/10! Food is hit or miss, in the a la cart restaurants the food more often than not came out cold and sometimes way over cooked. The buffet was great with lots of selection. If you are lucky, you will get Victor as your server in the buffet. Victor will go out of his way to make your dining experience great! I would definitely travel back to this resort, based on the cleanliness, staff and beach.

It had really good food like French toast, muffins, donuts and more for breakfast. It had plenty of fancy restaurants with authentic cultural dishes and more. The beach had a lot of algae and wasn’t calm most the time. Everything was close proximity and also the staff were extremely friendly. They also gave us a free pair of slippers as a parting gift.

Rooms need a little upgrade, beds are hard lol but that was the only bad thing. They have the best beach hands down, staff is amazing, Breakfast was my favorite! Kary at the beach was wonderful, please ask for her. She is attentive, makes a good drink and will spoil you. Miriam at the night time bar by the restaurants is super sweet with the most hospitality. I was amazed she remembered me and my drink orders after one night, there are so many people there. Spa was nice , I recommend you do a morning there before you get your beach on.

I love this resort. I enjoy the 45 minute shuttle from PUJ to the Resort. When you arrive, you are greeted with a glass of champagne fruit drink mixture and warm towel. Check in is quick and the staff is friendly and attentive. The resort is very quiet and relaxing. The beach is beautiful and the Caribbean water is just a dream. Walking out of the water back to the beach is a little steep so be careful. The best hack is the Preferred Pool on the family side of the resort. It's almost always empty and if you're a Preferred member it can really feel like a private pool and bar all to yourself. I'm not usually that big on having a Butler but the first time we went we had a Butler named Francis that was so good I felt like he was the Owner. It's easy to book the off site excursions and all the food is good. I've been here and Dreams Onyx. I would say if you are looking for more of a couples only and quiet resort Dreams Dominicus is the spot for you. If you have Kids or Teenagers Dreams Onyx is the place to go with the Water park and shows.

As our first time in DR, we enjoyed our stay at Dreams Dominicus La Romana! The food was great! (highly recommend Seaside Grill, Portofino & Flying Fish - if you’re a Preferred Club Member). The room was a little outdated but nothing too big of a deal. The service was AMAZING! The shows at night were also great! Our favorite was the Circus Show! The beach was gorgeous! The sand felt great. We had the pleasure of spending the week with our butler - Gustavo. He was the best! Very accommodating, very nice and very helpful! (seen in last photo) We will definitely come back and recommend this place to our friends and family.

Visited in September 2024 and had a wonderful vacation. Room was very clean. Staff remembered our names/faces and greeted us frequently. Ada was the best bartender at the relaxing pool and gave us great service and attention. I'm not a foodie and also wasn't expecting gourmet food so enjoyed everything that was offered. Lots of selection to meet a variety of tastes. I could have done without the time share sales pitch, the frequent solicitation of the spa, and sales booths at the entertainment shows as I would prefer a vacation and not sales, but I also didn't feel hassled or guilted for saying no. I did not do a preferred upgrade and still felt like I had a great experience and stay without the additional cost.

Family oriented all inclusive resort best for all kind of family vacation, businesses etc. They offer a different show every night, rides, excursions. Food is awesome and abundant. Rooms makes you feel well taken care off. Everything is neat and clean, including all the plants and gardens. Highly recommend this place.

Just got back from our vacation in Dreams Dominicus La Romana! It was a great experience and we can’t thank enough all staff and management for this very special and memorable trip for our family! We got a Preferred member status and never regret it. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Our guy Gustavo was excellent! He went above and beyond for us to make our stay at the hotel a luxury family gateway. Beach is excellent! Entertainment team was amazing! Every night is a new awesome show. I enjoyed morning workout and dance on the beach. Always something new either on the beach or on the pool. Food was great-a decent variety and 4 a la carte restaurants and we didn’t need any reservation (as a preferred members). Overall great experience and nice memories. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends!

Amazing resort. The people who work here were very nice and welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable and we had the view of the pool. The food here is very good since they have a variety of restaurants. The only thing is the alcohol is not very strong. I liked how they have so many things to do in the resort and you can’t get bored. Overall, I had a nice stay.

We had a great time. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They had a lot of fun themes & activities planned daily. The beach was amazing, beautiful!!! There were plenty of beach chairs available. One day, our group rented a cabana on the beach. We enjoyed being pampered and having lunch delivered right there to us.

Friendly staff, efficient in all areas, beautiful and comfortable rooms. The pools are wonderful but the beach is amazing. Soft white sand, gentle surf, warm water! The food was beautifully presented but fairly bland and many things were not hot on the buffet. The bread, fruit and coffee were amazing all the time. Best mojito I ever had and the Coco Loco is a must!

We made the best of our stay, but there were some definite drawbacks. Breakfast was consistently disappointing, and the housekeeping staff was quite noisy throughout the day. There were several work projects going on, which added to the disruption. Communication with the bartenders was challenging—unusual for an all-inclusive resort. In fact, we often had to leave the pool to find the better ones. We ended up relying on room service more than we expected. The Italian restaurant, while good, felt like it was in a different resort because of how far the walk was. On the plus side, the grounds were well-maintained, and seaweed wasn’t an issue on the beach. The water was rough in September, but the beach cabanas were a highlight, especially with the excellent service from Juan Davis. Lunch there was always enjoyable. We tried the Seaside Grille and the Mexican restaurant but didn’t feel the need to return. For the price we paid, we expected a better overall experience. It wasn’t terrible, but it could have been much better.

Amazing hotel, amazing staff, great food, and a stunning setting! I honestly couldn't have asked for a better first experience of the Dominican Republic. What a beautiful country with beautiful people! Will definitely return next year!!

Good afternoon my wife and I spent four days at Breathless Punta Cana. I would have to say our stay overall was decent. The food at the resort was good. The checking in process was good as well and housekeeping as well. The area of concern would be the waitstaff, In the bars specifically. We found them to be rude, slow in getting orders done and at times annoyed. The waitresses/waiter will come around and collect cups and not ask if we would like another drink. In our experience there, there was only one waiter that appeared to be helpful near the barefoot grill (his name escapes me currently). I would rate our stay a 7/10. This is our second Breathless resort that we have stayed at, the first one being in Cancun and there is a difference in character and temperament. Hopefully this isn’t a reflection on the other resorts because we do enjoy the Hyatt resorts.

This stunning beachfront resort offers a wide variety of activities, ensuring there’s always something fun and exciting to do. The E-Team is energetic, engaging, and truly adds to the vibrant atmosphere. The entire staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful, ensuring my stay was nothing short of perfect. The rooms and facilities were spotless, and the housekeeping team maintained everything to a high standard of cleanliness throughout my week stay. The food and drinks were excellent, and having access to Dreams Onyx was an added bonus! We also met many wonderful guests, which contributed to the overall experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone. I’m already looking forward to returning!

Would not choose this resort again but will start with the good: huge pools, adults only, and access to neighboring resort. The bad: The food was terrible (and I know all inclusives are never great). Buffets were not hot, food was bland, we got sick twice after dinners, 0 stars for food. Drinks are pure sugar and very little alcohol. Everything tasted very watered down, even the juices. Power outage for almost 4 hours on entire resort at dinner time. No way to get food and they had no backup plans. Everyone congregated in the dark lobby and just waited. Solicitors everywhere!!!! You couldn’t walk a step on the beach without being hassled. You couldn’t go upstairs inside the resort without being hassled about timeshare sales. We hated the constant bother. Housekeeping missed a day, walked in on us three times (they don’t wait 5 seconds after knocking before just letting themselves in your room). Blood on the “clean” sheets and pillow cases they made our bed with. Gross. No butler service at all. Every other resort in the DR we have stayed at came with butler service. Not here. Swim out rooms don’t connect to main pool and no bar service to them. Hot tubs were cold. Beach has a lot of coral and makes swimming less pleasant than other beaches in Punta Cana. This was my worst experience in the DR and I attribute 90% of that to the resort. The other 10% was the rain every day.

I had my best vacation In this resort and I would recommend to my friends and other family members for Great experience. Food nice, rooms nice and we stayed in premium suite for luxury experience. It was really great. Our personal Host name "Willy vip concierge" gave us an awesome service from beginning to the end. We are vegetarian so he make arrangements to restaurant's chef to make us vegetarian food. All in all is was VIP 5 star 🌟 experience.

Staying next door in the DREAMS ONYX but you get access to the Breathless facilities. Staff and surroundings excellent. Have only eaten at the steak restaurant but the rib eye and T bone were fantastic. Would recommend the Seafood cream as a starter if you want surf rather than turf.

Great hotel! Bit old, but it is maintained perfectly. Stuff - they were all nice Room was big, AC working perfectly. Food was great! Buffet and American was our favorite! Beach is nice with a lot of palm trees, little bit of seaweed, but they took care of it as much as they can. Pools - quiet pool was our favorite place at this resort, beyond beautiful. Only negative is that is very crowed (and this is off-season), so it is bit tricky to find place at the pool or at the beach.

Outstanding service from all staff! Stunning property and modern rooms. I wish they had more options for restaurants but the food was good overall. I enjoyed speciality drinks they made at Coco cafe. If I had to pick something to be critical about it would be the chairs in the theatre which I found very uncomfortable. The entertainment was great! I even got to participate in a complimentary painting class which was a lot of fun! The preferred section was amazing especially the infinity pool. I can't recommend this resort enough!

We had a great holiday at Secrets Royal Beach and would consider returning. The food was really tasty and fresh, and the service in the restaurants was excellent - staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. All of the staff at the resort worked tirelessly, ensuring high levels of cleanliness. There was also a great variety of entertainment, hosted by an enthusiastic team. The pool staff looked after us, regularly checking if we needed more drinks. Eddy our butler was exceptional, and went out of his way to assist us during our stay. The gym facilities were good, with enough equipment to ensure a decent workout. There were just a few things that were small negatives on an otherwise great stay. The resort is undergoing constant refurbishment - some of the old sockets had not been filled and there were some old wires sticking out in our room. That being said, this maintenance is understandable and we accept works need to be done to ensure the resort is at a high standard. On arrival the room wasn't quite ready with a few amenities missing but these were sorted the next day, thanks to staff and our butler. On a couple of nights, we had very long wait times to get dinner - one night it took over an hour to get seated. Our understanding was there was no reservations at the main restaurants but overheard some people saying staff had reserved a table for them... the policy is confusing and needs to be fair for everyone. Overall, though, a great holiday in a lovely resort. Thanks to all who made it a great experience.

This is an all-inclusive resort. The view is breathtaking. The restaurants were good. I especially enjoyed The Riviera. They had a large, delicious buffet. I enjoy all the delicious drinks the resort had to offer. The entertainment was phenomenal. We enjoyed multiple live music performances. Another great thing? It was connected to Dreams Resort. We got to try out their amazing water slides. Overall, we had a really great time. We loved it.

We had a mostly enjoyable honeymoon until the end. At checkin we received a $200 voucher that we were told could be used on any service on property and would be taken off our bill at checkout. We got massages (that were not remotely good by the way, but it is what it is) and gave the checkout people the voucher upon checking out. We were then told we couldn’t use it because we didn’t give it to the spa. Nobody told us this, including our “butler” whom we tipped very well. It does not state that on the voucher either. We are highly disappointed as they did not accept this voucher for whatever reason. We have canceled an upcoming trip at a Hyatt resort. For being a secrets, this resort is just eh on service (as you can clearly see). Room was fine, nothing special. Location is about a half hour from airport through the town. I would recommend honeymooning or vacationing at a different branded resort. For the price, you can get better service and people who care about their customers at another resort.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! They took such great care of us and made sure that we had an amazing vacation. There are no elevators, so make sure your room accommodation is appropriate for you and your physical needs. The various themed restaurants were decent, but we preferred the buffet and ate most of our meals there. The buffet options changed fairly regularly and we didn't ever get tired of what was available. The night time singers and karaoke were fun! The beach was beautiful! I would definutely recommend this resort!

I read reviews 1 night before my trip and had so much anxiety about the negative reviews. Minus a bit of updating of some of the rooms and a need for more vegan options, this place is a great overall value. We paid for the preferred package and really enjoyed our stay. Staff goes above and beyond and are delightful to work with. Weather was perfect late November. They have amazing entertainment for the family too.

Straight up, NOT a 4- star. This resort is being torn down soon, an maintenance seems low priority. The first room we were assigned, was a disgrace. Felt like a slap in the face for the money we paid. Very disrespectful. After one night I had to demand a different room. I would not have reserved the resort knowing it was on the way to being flattened. The employees always had a smile. I would recommend going to a different resort, and not be disappointed. And I like it better, when all-inclusive means “ no expectations to tip”. Unfortunately, that was the only way to get drinks, was to tip. Room service was 0/4 in getting the order correct. I’ve been to 4-5 other all- inclusive resorts, and this is easily the most disappointing. Too far to travel to find too many issues.

We were a family of ten and this resort met our needs perfectly . I as the Grandmother, my two sons and their families were happy with the food, service, cleanliness and beautiful grounds. Staff was great. It is too bad the ocean is plagued with the seaweed problem but the hotel is doing its best to keep it clean. The bathrooms need updating. Overall a wonderful resort for our family.

The staff here was so helpful and friendly. We had the best time! We would go back again and again if we could. The food was excellent and you did not need to make reservations which we found to be a huge bonus! Eat what you want when you want. Burgers on the beach were fantastic. Ambiorix at the pool was our favorite, but honestly they were all great.
