We moved to this hotel from Bahia Principe Luxury La Romana trying to get the real beach and ocean. To be honest the room they put us initially was ... I need to be political correct here. BUT ... Big thanks to the management and the hotel staff - after receiving all my multiple complains they moved us to the perfectly cleaned room in the preferred building. They worked hard to address all the issues and provide the perfect service. Yes, it took one day but they did it. Thank you! I hope it will help the management better understand the expectations of the people decided to choose their hotel for the vacation stay. Happy and peaceful new 2025 year! Update: the bars manager Alexis Arias was able to get the non-alcoholic beer!!! He drove to La Romana to get it there and make sure I will get enough during the our stay. BIG THANKS!!!! It was really unexpected. Alexis, you and our butler Edwin De la Cruz made our stay unique 😊 and very pleasant!

Absolutely horrific experience from the start. Within the first two days, I was struck with severe diarrhoea and vomiting—two full days spent in bed and then they decided to start paint the rooms on our floor which filled our room with paint fumes. I had to lie there, inhaling that crap for an entire day. When my friend went to reception to ask if they would stop the painting, the staff couldn’t have cared less. They gave us no real answer, just a shrug and a “we’ll make a call.” Like, how is that acceptable when your guests are actively ill?! Two days later, and my friend is now in the exact same situation—diarrhea and vomiting—after only eating at the hotel. There’s no question it’s the food. I spoke to the concierge about it, and he couldn’t have cared less. He said buy a $10 bottle of Gatorade or the option to pay $200 to see a doctor. We have insurance but that’s not the point. When I asked if that was really all they were doing, and if the restaurant should be warned so others don’t get ill he literally shrugged and said he wouldn’t visit the hotel himself. We’re stuck here for another week because it would cost £1800 to cut the holiday short and due to flight availability would only be a couple of days sooner. So now, we’re stuck eating bananas and toast, praying we don’t get worse. DO NOT stay here! If you’re lucky enough to avoid food poisoning, then maybe you’ll have a decent time, but for everyone else, good luck. The management couldn’t care less, and their response to negative reviews is always the same—empty promises to “improve” that they never follow through on. It’s a matter of time before something really serious happens here, and they kill somebody, I regret not reading the bad reviews more closely before booking. On top of that, everything here is ridiculously overpriced. You get hounded multiple times a day to go to the spa, to the point where you have to pretend like they’re invisible just to escape it. Worst holiday of my life, and definitely the most expensive. Stay away EDIT we have now started noticing other people in the restaurant that are only eating toast for their main meal at dinner and holding their stomachs. There seems to be little food hygiene here and going by my picture I guess the person who made the tray didn’t bother washing his hand and then went on to prepare the rest of the salads. Why even leave warm meat on display in salad it doesn’t look good and no I didn’t eat salad from that tray before I got sick. I had to lower the score for the rooms as now there are people next to our room and they leave there ceiling fan on all night which sounds like a washing machine in the distance.

I love this resort. I enjoy the 45 minute shuttle from PUJ to the Resort. When you arrive, you are greeted with a glass of champagne fruit drink mixture and warm towel. Check in is quick and the staff is friendly and attentive. The resort is very quiet and relaxing. The beach is beautiful and the Caribbean water is just a dream. Walking out of the water back to the beach is a little steep so be careful. The best hack is the Preferred Pool on the family side of the resort. It's almost always empty and if you're a Preferred member it can really feel like a private pool and bar all to yourself. I'm not usually that big on having a Butler but the first time we went we had a Butler named Francis that was so good I felt like he was the Owner. It's easy to book the off site excursions and all the food is good. I've been here and Dreams Onyx. I would say if you are looking for more of a couples only and quiet resort Dreams Dominicus is the spot for you. If you have Kids or Teenagers Dreams Onyx is the place to go with the Water park and shows.

My wife and I decided to have our wedding here. The staff was super friendly and provided a great service. Unfortunately, we counted a lot of issues with the room, bookings the condition of the rooms and transportation to and from the hotel. Majority of guest did not get the rooms that they booked, frankly many were downgraded. The rooms were in poor condition. We have several travelers who paid for transportation and never received it. We took a Scuba Caribe excursion, they told us their would be food and drinks. There was not even water, a small bag of chips for everyone. There wasnt enough snorkels for our party. They dropped us off in a random location where they didn’t provide enough taxis to transport everyone. Overall, the staff was very friendly, but we would not recommend this location for any wedding, or large gathering. This location is simply unable to accommodate our friends and family even after paying $5k to book 40 rooms 9 months in advance.

Love this hotel, this is my 4th time I spent my vacation there. Highly recommended. Food is great. Good entertainment. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Big thank you for beach boys Rudy and Nelson, they are the best. We are really felt like special guests.

I stayed there with my wife for 5 nights. The staff was excellent, we had the Preferred Membership where we had Roberto to assist us with all of our needs on the resort. He was an excellent resource to have and was very good at his job. The property was beautiful and well maintained and again the staff was friendly and helpful. The employees there are very hard working. However, I would highly recommend staying in a Preferred room because you get all your meals made to order and of a higher quality. I went to the lunch buffet, which is what you get when you do not upgrade to Preferred, and was not impressive. The only complaint I have is that there are some employees in shirts that indicate that they work at the resort but they end up asking you to go to a breakfast the following day and offer some coupons. This was obviously some type of sales pitch which I did not appreciate considering I had already given the hotel a good amount of money. I would say it was an excellent trip all around and I would recommend Dreams Royal Beach if you are considering a trip to the DR.

We just got back from an amazing trip! I went with my husband and two young kids and the resort was so family friendly and accommodating of our allergies and specific dieterary restrictions. Special shout out to our butler Marcelo who went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs! He was incredible and really made our stay amazing. Also everyone at the hotel was so friendly to our children. Special shout out to chef Francisco and Ernesto at Fusion who were so accommodating to our foods and meals every single day. Thank you!! My kids loved the night entertainment, pools and beach. The room was spacious enough for our kids. We would definitely recommend.

We stayed a week in Oct 24. Location was perfect. Beach was lovely although there were an awful lot of traders, but you get that I suppose. Main restaurant was OK, the other a la carte restaurants offered better service and more choice. Staff were great, very friendly. Rooms were a little dated, clean enough but not what I would call 5 star. 4 at best. Evening entertainment was fairly average, good fun, just not great. Overall a really nice hotel, but if you're used to 5 star and luxury, this is not the place to go. If all you are after is a bit of fun, above average food and great service, then this is the place for you

The Entertainment, the housekeeping and all the staff, we're amazing! Fabulous and super sweet! I did not want to leave. Best Vacation I've had. Definitely coming back!! Will be sharing with Friends and Family my experience. Highly recommend!

Nobody and whatever

What an amazing trip! We had a wonderful time and the resort was so nice. It's in a row of resorts, that was its only downfall. However, being an early riser and downer, there was no rowdiness after 10:30. I do wish, however, that we weren't harassed on the beach to buy stuff. But, the locals need to make money somehow. I overall recommend this place for a nice, relaxing trip.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa is a fantastic getaway spot. The rooms are comfortable and well-kept, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food options are solid, with something for everyone, and the pools and beach are clean and inviting. The spa is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for some relaxation. It’s a great place for a family trip or just to unwind for a few days. I’d happily go back!

Just came back from the resort and I loved it!!! Let me start off by mentioning the moment you walk in it smells so good and clean. Honestly every corner of the resort smelled so good like the rooms, restaurants, lobby’s , hallways. The service was top notch and all of the employees really care about your experience at the resort. The food at the buffet was pretty good and had so many options. The restaurants were really good especially the steak house. The Italian restaurant was not that great I feel like there should be more improvement with that one but other than that everything else was great. The beach is beautiful and it’s so alive with so many people around and so many activities to do. It seems like a very secure safe resort as well which I think is important when you’re a tourist traveling. It’s very family friendly which is great if you have kids. Overall my experience was excellent and my family and I were pretty satisfied, I recommend going!!!

Surpassed my expectations in light of some reviews and our really bad check in experience. Food was very good for an all inclusive in the DR - would have loved some real orange juice. Staff were amazing! Grounds are wonderful especially the beach. The “waterpark” was disappointing for my 10 year old son. Our room and view was very nice. Note: I appreciate we all have a job to do but when I’ve paid good money and have little time, the last thing I want to do is go through charades and aggressive sales tactics to join a vacation club. Think of another way to do this. It took away 90 minutes from a short 5 day vacation to figure out what we were going to be subjected to.

Positive: The hotel is very modern, the food is very good, it's quiet, the variety of pools and the water park are excellent. Additionally, you can go to the adults-only area and leave your children at the kids' club, where they did an excellent job. The service was excellent, and I never felt pressured to buy anything. The beach was also excellent. Negative: The air conditioning never worked properly (although they always responded and fixed it when I called). The hotel is a bit remote, and when I visited, everything was under construction. Lastly, since the hotel is quite large, you rely heavily on the golf carts to take you wherever you need to go (especially from the adults-only hotel).

We watched a lot of videos of this resort and had to admit we were a little nervous. Our opinion is that the resort is amazing. We couldn't ask for better staff. Our room was cleaned twice a day, and if you needed anything, they got it for you. The food is like any resort..some is good some isn't. The pools are very clean and the bartenders keep your glasses full. Another bonus is you get the best of 2 resort in one. You can use the pools, bars, and restaurants at Breathless also. Just remember Breathless is adults only. Oh I almost forgot the beach is beautiful and clean.

Came to this resort for my Honeymoon. First thing I will point out was the service from all resort employees was EXCELLENT. They were always smiling and willing to help or serve a drink. They were great. The location was very good, there were spots on the resort for every need. Tranquility pool became our favorite because there were vendors on the beach that did ruin the relaxed vibes sometimes. The food at the buffet was not good unfortunately. However, we had some great meals at the French restuarant. The Love Under the Stars event we signed up for was absolutely worth it and was an extremely beautiful night- highly recommend. The room left a bit to be desired, and mosquitoes flew in through the vents and continuously bothered us. Overall our stay was relaxing and pleasant, but there were some areas that weren't stellar.

All the staff is very friendly and always happy to see you. I stayed on the adult side but there is also a kid friendly resort connected to this one that has more restaurants and activities. Excellent food and drinks are all inclusive. The dining is fancy and delicious. The staff know English, some more fluent than others, but they are always able to help.

My wife and I had our wedding at the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana, and let’s just say it was the best wedding, vacation, and overall experience we’ve ever had in our life. Before I go into detail about everything else, I’d like to touch on the exception service that received from everyone at the property. Specifically, since we booked in the preferred side, we were given a butler, who name was Ramses, who help elevate the experience beyond our imagination. I mean we could have never dreamt of some serves this amazing. Ramses deserves a raise, and I would even recommend him to train every butler in that facility he was so great. We had about 50 people who traveled with us to Secrets royal beach, and Ramses assisted with getting us reservations for our large party. He communicated daily activities (which secrets royal beach has so many activities). He assisted in adding roses petals in a beautiful design on our wedding night. He even prepped our room when we had a kickback at our room which he sent over 7-8 bottles of champagne and juice for mimosas at night! Whatever we threw at Ramses he over exceeded our expectation and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was amazing. Ramses was so amazing, that even our 50 guest noticed his efforts. Overall, not only did we think secrets royal beach was the best vacation we ever experience, but even our guest came to us and stated the same. We were so pleased with our stay that we are already trying to plan our next trip with all our guest again!

My husband and I spent New Years week here and fell in love. We left another resort last minute due to a poor experience and all of the staff at Secrets were immediately welcoming and accommodating. They truly aimed to please in every way down to every detail. Our room was pristine, and included a patio jacuzzi tub with a pool and partial ocean view. The food at every restaurant was delicious, and buffets were available conveniently at each pool and the beach. With 24/7 room service as well, we had access to meals at all points during the day and night. Bartenders were so attentive and friendly. Pools were beautiful. We have already booked our next stay here in a month. We travel the Caribbean frequently and this was one of our favorite resorts! No need to step foot off of the property. Beautiful private tiki huts and loungers on the beach. Everything we needed for a perfect getaway!

Checking into the hotel was chaotic. They take you on a long tour of the hotel which is nice in theory but it is before you go to your room so you are still in your airplane clothes and have your backpacks etc. with you. Not something you want to do after a long day of travel. In our room it was not very clean, there was a used razor next to our tub. The amount of solicitation that happened at this hotel is something that I have never experienced. On the beach you are constantly harassed by someone at least every 5 minutes trying to get you to buy something. At one point they were even in the hotel pool area. The fact that the hotel doesn’t try to do something about this is concerning. I would say about 50% of the staff was friendly. The other half either ignored you or did the bare minimum without saying anything & we were tipping so that didn’t seem to have much effect on their service. We did pay extra for the ‘Preferred’. There is no distinction between preferred and non preferred, no wristbands etc., & they did not monitor this very closely. The nightly shows were fun. The Greatest Showman was our favorite- the dancers are so talented! Hotel bathrooms need some updates, here are some of the issues we had at various bathrooms: door wouldn't shut, lights went out while using, got locked in, toilet broken. Food was hit or miss-I would say we enjoyed about 50% of the food we ate.  Our favorite meal was at the hotel next door, Dreams. The massage and hydrotherapy was enjoyable, probably my favorite part of our stay at the hotel. But, this costs extra. Our credit card got stolen from our room and they did not really do anything about it, not even a sorry. Our butler dropped the ball multiple times on things that he said would be done. Including our bags being in the lobby on time for our shuttle to the airport at checkout. Overall Hotel is an average hotel masked as a luxury hotel & I would not go again or recommend it.

We had a nice relaxing time. We didn’t venture off the property except for a walk in the beach. Pool was nice, just the right temperature no matter what time. Very clean. The rooms were large and roomy. Bathrooms nice, large showers. Our biggest complaint with the rooms was that it smelled quite bad of mildew! I guess that’s why housekeeping would burn incense everyday. (That’s a nice try but it didn’t cover the smell). The food was pretty good unless you have a special diet, not too much to choose from. All the employees were very nice and friendly and would help you with anything! I would say we wouldn’t go back there, but for a first time it was very relaxing.

With booking the Exhale Club level we were assigned a concierge. We were lucky to have Emilio during our stay, who took excellent care of us! He was very responsive to any requests we had and was always a pleasure to talk with. He has a great personality and you can tell that he enjoys his job! We've had several concierge experiences in our travels and he ranks up there as one of the best! Thanks for helping make our experience a great one, Emilio!

First time here at Breathless and a 5 star resort. Really enjoyed our vacation. Rooms good, food was fantastic with lots of options. Beach was great and long walks were easy to do. Never felt unsafe. Staff are very professional and friendly, there was no pressure to purchase other packages but we were politely informed.Evening entertainment was very good too. Note: When you get your room key, there is an app to download. If we had been advised of this at check in, it would have made choices much easier for us. I think we will come here again!!

We had a WONDERFUL vacation! Food was great! Steaks were amazing! There always seemed to be someone to help you anytime you needed it. Our Butler didn't do much more than get us "on the list" for dinner. Beach service was great!

Just got back after spending a week at Breathless Punta Cana. This was our second trip this time we brought some friends. The resort is beautiful and the staff is very friendly we were exhale and our butler was Willy. We requested him because he was amazing anything you needed he was more than willing to help. He would ride with us to the restaurants to make sure everything was good the food is very good he here I highly recommend the French restaurant and the strip grill
