I love this resort. I enjoy the 45 minute shuttle from PUJ to the Resort. When you arrive, you are greeted with a glass of champagne fruit drink mixture and warm towel. Check in is quick and the staff is friendly and attentive. The resort is very quiet and relaxing. The beach is beautiful and the Caribbean water is just a dream. Walking out of the water back to the beach is a little steep so be careful. The best hack is the Preferred Pool on the family side of the resort. It's almost always empty and if you're a Preferred member it can really feel like a private pool and bar all to yourself. I'm not usually that big on having a Butler but the first time we went we had a Butler named Francis that was so good I felt like he was the Owner. It's easy to book the off site excursions and all the food is good. I've been here and Dreams Onyx. I would say if you are looking for more of a couples only and quiet resort Dreams Dominicus is the spot for you. If you have Kids or Teenagers Dreams Onyx is the place to go with the Water park and shows.

Good quality Dreams resort on a beautiful beach with normal Dreams food and hospitality. The room was nice, great view of the main pool and beach, great AC and was cleaned and stocked daily. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you’ve stayed at Dreams before the food is on par with others. It’s good sometimes very good but don’t expect it to be amazing.
My problem with this resort is two big issues:
One - lots of smoking of cigarettes here: pool, beach, bars, outdoor restaurants, all of the shows, and up and down the walking paths. Expect to smell cigarette smoke the entire time.
Two - Daypasses. This resort allows locals to purchase daily day passes so the otherwise quiet and quaint resort is completely overrun from 10am to 6pm. The locals on the day passes are very rowdy and incredibly inconsiderate. They hog all of the chairs, all of the games, and the entire pool bar. Expect to be overrun and pushed out of the pool bar. They jump right off the sides of the pool and splash the hotel guests and force them out of the bar. They will then take control of the DJ and play music they want. They sing and dance to the music and it just gets rowdier and rowdier. We saw two fights break out and a wrestling match on the pool deck. They also push each other off the sides of the pool and I saw an older hotel guest have a man fall directly on top of them. The pool becomes mayhem between 2:00 and 5:00. After 5pm the day pass holders slowly begin to exit the pool but use the pool bathrooms to change back into clothes to leave the resort. So when you walk into the bathroom there will be tons of people changing with bags all over the place. They make an absolute mess of the bathrooms during this time and you can see how frustrated the hotel cleaning staff is trying to tidy the bathrooms up from them.
Two different days the day pass people came over to our chairs and proceeded to put our belongings onto the wet pool deck, take our towels, lie them out on our chairs, and use them for themselves. One person even used our beach bag as a leg rest.
I am glad we didn’t bring our kids to this resort as the smoking and day pass holders would have been terrible for them.
Dreams should not allow this to happen. A lot of guests we talked to were very annoyed with the day pass people. Many of them avoided the main pool which isn’t fun as the other pool is colder, has no swim up bar, and no views of the beach.
Caution if you choose to go here unless you can get a great deal on the cost. If you’re paying full price you’re going to be upset.

Love this hotel, this is my 4th time I spent my vacation there. Highly recommended. Food is great. Good entertainment. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Big thank you for beach boys Rudy and Nelson, they are the best. We are really felt like special guests.

Family oriented all inclusive resort best for all kind of family vacation, businesses etc. They offer a different show every night, rides, excursions. Food is awesome and abundant. Rooms makes you feel well taken care off. Everything is neat and clean, including all the plants and gardens. Highly recommend this place.

As our first time in DR, we enjoyed our stay at Dreams Dominicus La Romana! The food was great! (highly recommend Seaside Grill, Portofino & Flying Fish - if you’re a Preferred Club Member). The room was a little outdated but nothing too big of a deal. The service was AMAZING! The shows at night were also great! Our favorite was the Circus Show! The beach was gorgeous! The sand felt great. We had the pleasure of spending the week with our butler - Gustavo. He was the best! Very accommodating, very nice and very helpful! (seen in last photo) We will definitely come back and recommend this place to our friends and family.
