Overall you pay for what you receive. Staff generally are impressive whilst the resort estate is kept in excellent order. Room cleaners are perfect too. Some of the infrastructure is tired but not too bad. Wild dogs can be heard barking at night and some amenity workers are not respectful for quiet in the mornings. Highly recommend this location and the hotel overall. If considering coming here yourself, as a highly experienced traveller, I’d say you’d be lucky to experience better unless you pay 5*.

We have spent a wonderful 2 weeks here. It is in a wonderful location just a short walk into Flic en Flac.Reading some of the negative reviews on here it is difficult to believe it is the same place. We loved the food, the variety and quality was fabulous, the service was mostly great and overall all the staff were very courteous and welcoming. On 4 occasions senior managers came round at dinner to introduce themselves and ensure we were happy with things. We had a fabulous holiday and will be highly recommending a stay here to all our relatives and friends. Thank you to all the staff.

I regret to say that Anelia Hotel was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. My sister chose this venue for her wedding, and unfortunately, the service fell really short of our expectations. To start with, the minibars in the rooms were completely empty—something that felt incredibly basic and disappointing for a supposedly four-star hotel. Breakfast options were equally lacking, with only black tea and coffee available, which is hardly what you’d expect from a four-star. We ordered and paid our preferred coffee which was absolutely disgusting. It is the first time we actually felt that locals were not welcome in a hotel. The lack of service and attention to detail was glaring throughout our stay. It’s clear that Anelia Hotel does not live up to its four-star rating. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere if you value quality service!

We arrived around 1030am after a long flight from London. Warm reception although we had to wait in the lobby till 3pm check in time as our room was not ready. Walked into a spacious family suite with a wet floor which had been hastily cleaned. The resort facilities were great, lots of activities including tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball which we enjoyed. We also made use of the hotels boat cruises and kayaking. The pools were amazing especially the warmed up family one, we enjoyed the gym although it felt a little small for the size of the resort. The food was great, we were on half board basis although the snacks and lunch menu was rather pricey. Staff were all great and the chef offered some decent desert alternatives for our lactose intolerant daughter. Overall, a beautiful resort by a well maintained clean beach- we were also very grateful for being allowed to check out late at 5pm on our departure day as we had a 9pm flight back to London

Had a nice weekend despite the bad weather. The Luxury Room was very cosy with a very comfortable King Size bed and there was even a small balcony with the seaside view. The Food was very delicious and the staff really friendly. A really pleasant surprise was the presence of a Green Parrot who is a permanent resident of the hotel and who moves around freely within the hotel's compound. I really also appreciated the free filtered water dispensers near the rooms so as the residents can refill their water bottles at their ease! However, the green water at the entrance quite spoil the charm of the hotel and i recon a more cleaner water would certainly add value the entrance and give customers a better first impression!

It was my first time visiting Mauritius and my stay at this hotel make it 10 times more memorable. From the splendid and clean room, to the variety and delicious foods, this hotel is a 10/10. What make it a high quality hotel is the service. Everyone was so kind and always available, they care about your well being and always make sure everything suits you. Everywhere you going at this hotel, they’re asking you about your day and if you’re doing good. In addition, the hotel itself is splendid with a variety of activity. As someone who travel a lot, I will not forget about this experience and 100% recommend this hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay. Room was spacious and well located next to a zen garden. The heated pool was great, specially appreciated by my kids. All staff members were kind and helpful. The dinner buffet could have been a little bit more elaborate but overall we had a great weekend.

Although the hotel was super nice and really beautiful, there were several issues we encountered (probably as we did not go during the high season) and I have to say the staff did do everything possible to make our stay better after a complaint regarding this and some other minor inconveniences. At the arrival they informed me of the wrong information related to our stay, the other restaurants in the hotel were closed on several days although it states online and in the hotel they are open, one evening my wife and I could not even sit with our 2 children while many 4 people tables were taken by couples and couple tables remained empty. Also the early check in and late checkout was very expensive and being a Diamond member I assumed this was included (as of Platinum this should be). Hotel clearly said that if I book via the app I have to pay, otherwise I should have contacted the hotel directly if this was possible or not. Hotel was far from full so looking at the issues we had during our stay, I would have expected at leest a commercial gesture but even after asking this was refused sadly enough. Overall most of the staff is super helpful, they know you as of day 2 and what your preferences are so on that front superb service of the restaurant and beach bar employees. The rooms are super nice, amazing bathrooms and the views are breathtaking. Very clean hotel although the pigeons and birds are a bit disturbing when they jump on your table if you are not looking but also that is part of the experience being on an amazing island. Overall good experience thanks to the bar and restaurant staff who really made our stay memorable. For a quick beach vacation I would go back to this specific hotel.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel and it was really amazing. I like how quiet is this place and how much do they provided a high quality service. Staff were very polite and their hospitality was amazing. a special thanks to Mr. Farhan,, The Location was adjacent to many attractions with with easy access to all the attractions in the west and south. I get a massage in the spa and it was one of my best experiences ever the dinner buffet maybe need to add some varieties, the breakfast buffet was very excellent. the first day we asked them for early preparation for breakfast because we had an early trip and they prepared it for us, well not as expected but it was a nice service provided by them

We spent 4 nights at this resort and it was really amazing. Staff was very polite and their hospitality was amazing. They even arranged Indian vegetarian dinner for us for all days as the standard buffet had majorly non veg dishes. Location is just on point with easy access to all the attractions nearby.

Stayed in October 2024. I've been lucky to stay in 2 luxary hotels in a row and I still think Sands Suites Resort & Spa is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Everything is very clean, they don't use paper napkins even in a WC next to the reception, everything is made of fabric and perfectly white. There are 3 restaurants to choose from and I really enjoyed every meal there. In the wellness centre there is hammam, sauna and a whirlpool bath,massage. The room cleaning was ninja, we never saw them and they never disturbed us in the room, but once a day the room was cleaned, the towels were changed and twice a day we had a bottle of still water per person. In the evenings we also found a little bar of chocolate and a wish of a good night on the bed. All these little details made our stay really cozy. There is an artificial barrier next to the hotel which protects the beach from waves and makes it safe for unsure swimmers. The beach isn't for snorkeling though, there's nothing to see just next to the hotel. However, there are free rides for snorkeling and glass-bottom boats offered by the hotel. Most of the staff I talked to spoke English and/or French fluently. At the reception one can exchange euros, dollars, the rate is better at the airport though.

This has to be the best resort in Mauritius. A perfect place to get the nature's vibe along with all the modern comfort and amenities. Food here is great. Hospitality of the staff members is unimaginable. Eat your lunch looking at the ocean. Swimming pool, steam room, ice bath, jacuzzi, gym, tennis court, water sports, outdoor sports, you name it they have it all. A perfect staycation for each and everyone.

Absolutely delighted with our dining experience at Coconut Café! The food was incredibly delicious, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. Beach amazing, sun loungers comfortable. Staff really nice. Rooms and restaurants are a little tired but well kept and clean. Service is on 'Mauritius time' so never quick 😆. Only issue I had was the cats, not sure letting cats roam around the restaurants when guests eating begging at tables for food, one of them looked unwell so we kept our distance and shooed them away from us. Definitely go back, water sports etc were really good too.

We had a reservation at this hotel, which we had to cancel due to the incompetence of some of the hotel employees. Considering that on the hotel page it is specified that it organizes weddings, we have requested a brochure with the offers, which we received after a few days. We have chosen one of the options and sent an email to the hotel for confirmation and after a few days we received an email stating that they do not organize such events for people who are not staying at the hotel, even though we specified in the email that we have a reservation at the hotel, a reservation that can be verified very easily. I came back with another email in which I specified again that we have a reservation and their answer was "it's not possible anyway". By the answers we received in the email, we realized that they did not even read our requests, which is why we decided to cancel the reservation at this hotel.

Our stay at La Pirogue was amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel at home. Kelly at reception was incredible, helping us sort out a problem with our SIM card. We had an amazing birthday surprise for my mother-in-law, thanks to everyone who made it happen. Special shoutout to Mommy in the kitchen for her delicious food and friendly nature. Deborah and Tatiana were also wonderful, making our stay even more special. Overall, the service was 5-star. We felt so welcomed and taken care of. We can't wait to come back! The beach is so beautiful and the swiming pool and gardens are simply breathtaking. All the staff makes you feel welcome. The hotel has lots of activities every day. Totally recommended.

From when you arrive at the resort you are treated very well with helpful staff in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious with all you need and balconies. The balconies do vary from room to room, some are covered, others are open and some are a bit of a mix! They do need to spend a bit of time checking the maintenance of the rooms, the light system seems overly complex and doesn't work all that well, some switches are loose, one party in our group couldn't turn a bedside light off without turning off all the lights for example. Our room had a loose toilet seat and the shower amenities fell off the wall. The rest of the resort was fantastic, pools were lovely plenty of bars, deck chairs did get busy around the pools but there were always some on the beach. The beach was very clean and super clear water in the lagoon for snorkeling. There were water sport activities including sailing, paddle boards wind surfing and pedalos. You could also borrow reef shoes, fins and snorkels (although they were full face snorkels that have been shown to be dangerous and you shouldn't dive under the water with). We did have one meal at the beach front restaurant which we weren't that impressed with, food didn't come out together, wasn't hot and some portions were very small. The hotel can help with taxis into the town were there are loads of options or you can walk down the beach about 30mins, be warned it might be hard to get a taxi back at night though! Breakfast was a good spread with plenty of options, my wife wasn't a fan of the machine coffee served so you can ask the staff for a proper coffee from the barrister upstairs. Would certainly stay here again should the opportunity arise and could maybe try the Indian and Thai restaurants.

Beautiful location with great views of the ocean. The resort has great facilities including infinity pool, jacuzzi, regular pool, spa and 3 on site restaurants. The Thai restaurant was fantastic, probably one of the best I've been to. The only criticism is that, during our 5 night stay, all 3 were only open once. There is, however, a buffet that was open all 5 days but, personally, not happy to pay the price which is pretty steep for a buffet. Overall, nice experience only marred by a number of negative experiences. I appreciated the management apology and 2 free cocktails but that didn't really cover the inconvenience.

We booked a 5 night stay as a Diamond member. The welcome drink and candy given at check in were, I observed, given as standard. The booklet we were given for Diamond members, which appears to be as a replacement for them not having an executive lounge was grossly substandard. The vouchers for free drinks were 2 beer, 2 soft drinks, 2 wines and 2 cocktails only redeemable at the Sunset Bar & we waited well over 15 minutes on one occasion & we were almost made to feel like second class citizens for using vouchers. In other exec lounges you are provided with unlimited drinks and snacks at a set time where there was no snacks provided at all here. Received a letter part way through our trip inviting us to Managers Cocktails on the Tuesday evening 6-7pm & we found staff favour US guests and we had to consistently ask for another drink and the snacks they were serving went to other guests first and we were not offered any. The upgrade from a twin to king room was a nice touch but nothing special. We did get a complimentary hat and beach bag but not one each which was disappointing. Room was tired in places (furniture marked, scratched), the shower didn't work on the bath, shower cubicle leaked onto the floor making it very wet and none of the sockets worked on one side of the bed. There were also some ants, cockroach and spiders and a drain/sewage smell in the bathroom that was quite overpowering at times and it seemed to get worse. Breakfast was included due to our status and was comprehensive. We found on two occasions we would be seated, asked if we wanted tea or coffee but then this didn't arrive and we had to ask again. Other times we weren't even asked but observed diners arriving after us who staff were falling over to bring coffee and tea to. Paid to upgrade to half board so the evening meal was included. This cost 2600 rupees for the two of us (per night) which we felt was expensive. Buffet repetitive and the meat (beef/steak) was often so tough it could not be cut or at the other end of the scale - chicken not cooked properly which resulted in a bad case of food poisoning which impacted on our planned boat trip the following day after checkout. What was also completely unacceptable though was being charged for water at mealtimes. We didn't even know, nor was it made clear that it was chargeable until we got up to leave and were chased like we were trying to abscond! Upon leaving we had only a quarter of a glass of a second bottle of water so we were charged for two bottles (300 rupees). Had the table not been cleared I'd have gone back and taken the 3/4 bottle I'd paid for. Hilton should make it clear when they offer you water that it is chargeable or provide a menu which has prices as water doesn't feature on any price list. Gardens and pools were it's strength.The gym although small was good for a workout but there was no aircon which was a bit of a joke when it was so hot. We found it difficult to get sunbeds at times with people reserving them with towels and/or the fact it was busy and there just isn't enough to accommodate guests. We also saw glasses and bottles left by sunbeds and tables in the evening from guests in the day which weren't cleared. Dirty flannels were taken one morning but never replaced, but then one got replaced then a few days later none got replaced. What was just unbelievable was the saga with the mug/cups. Any Brit will know that a cup of tea is pretty much essential no matter where you are in the world. On the first evening room service one dirty mug was taken and not replaced. The next day the only remaining mug which we had used was taken and not replaced. We left a note for evening housekeeping to ask for mugs - nothing. Next morning went to Guest Services to ask. We were promised they would be in our room later, no cups. We then rung housekeeping who said they would bring cups. Evening came, no cups. We rung Reception to ask for cups. FINALLY after 4 attempts we then get glasses brought to our room. The next day one cup then disappeared again

We came here as a family group for a Sunday buffet breakfast (we weren’t staying at the hotel itself). The food and service were fabulous and I’d highly recommend it. The setting, in a lush landscaped garden overlooking the lagoon, is a memorable place to have lunch.

Sugar beach,my paradise! This place was totally awesome! I had so much fun. The pool was epic - huge, with its unrivaled sunset. We spent hours playing water polo and having splash fights.The food was amazing! They had everything from pizza and burgers to fancy stuff like sushi. My favorite was the dessert buffet - so many choices! Plus, the drinks were super refreshing, especially the tropical cocktails.But the best part was the sports. We played football every day while watching the beautiful sunset and there were always other kids to play with. The staff even organized fun matches which made my days enjoyable and memorable.I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fun and exciting vacation. It's the perfect place to make new friends, try new things, and just have a blast!

Had the most wonderful week here. Staff are outstanding, but service with drinks could be a bit quicker when having meals. The food for all inclusive was amazing. The rooms were cleaned everyday. We did have a few issues but were soon resolved. I went for a pedicure that was amazing also, highly recommended.

I’ve been staying at Sugar beach many times due to work locally . The hotel and staff are excellent. Beautiful well manicured grounds surround the hotel and the beach has white sand and clear lagoon water. The hotel doesn’t feel full even when at capacity. The gym is the best hotel gym I’ve seen and it’s always clean and well maintained with a very friendly team. Food and drink are all great with a good choice of restaurants. I recently had friends stay all inclusive from Dubai and they were very impressed by the stunning location and how good the food and drink were, with waiter service bringing a la carte food and cocktails - all included . (Not just a buffet) . I would thoroughly recommend Sugar beach to stay, the location is also very good to visit most of the attractions on the island. Because the grounds are so big you can find a spot near the main pool or find quieter spots near the quiet pool and away from the bars. The staff are all very friendly and care about making your stay the best it can be .

What can I say? Maradiva is absolutely stunning and super spacious. It's so elegant and peaceful, perfect for some serious relaxation and "me time." The villa private pool was such a great feature. The service is top-notch – a solid 10/10. Everything in the villa, from the amenities to the products, is high quality. The buffet service is five-star, and we tried one of the restaurants (Japanese) – it was seriously delicious. If you're looking for luxury and tranquility, Maradiva is the place to be.

We got upgraded from Sands suites to Maradiva, and it was phenomenal. The food was better than some of the best restaurants I’ve had in Chicago. Especially the Japanese restaurant and Cassine. The villas were well designed, private, and luxurious. The shared amenities (beach, infinity pool, etc) were gorgeous. It also never felt too crowded, which we appreciated. Especially when we walked across the beach to other resorts. There’s plenty of outdoor activities on-site, we used the paddle boards. Saw other people sailing. The staff were definitely a highlight of our trip. Not sure if it is Mauritius in general, or the Maradiva, but they were incredibly friendly and helpful. From the wait staff to the reception, these were some of the nicest people we’ve met on any vacation. When we come back to Mauritius, we’ll definitely be booking this hotel.

First the good: When spoken to, the hotel at least seemed to be trying to find a solution to something. It was also positive that I was allowed to change rooms twice at my own request (due to noise). That's the only reason there are two rating stars instead of one star. Now what needs to be improved: The most serious point I found was the dinner, which was usually served cold, which was really a big disappointment. It was completely unnecessary and inconsiderate to serve the guests the cold buffet. Some of the dishes were elaborately prepared and you actually wanted to look forward to them. But most of the food was cold even at the beginning of the buffet time, which I personally asked different employees (of different ranks) about on different days. Under no circumstances can the hotel claim that it was unaware of the problem. I don't just think that the food being left out cold is an outrage, I also see it as an attempt to persuade guests to pay extra for a meal a la menu. When I was complaining, I was offered the option of making a plate full and then having it warmed up in the kitchen; what I got myself into. The initially cold food was at least lukewarm; but never hot. It really spoiled my appetite, which is why at some point I only ate cold starters there and then went out to eat straight away. None of the employees spoken to there (more than six people over time) even made an attempt to get the buffet warm and keep it warm, even though I made it clear that this was a general problem, not just consisted of a single evening. Given the cold food, it is all the more astonishing that drinks are charged very high prices; for example, 7 euros for a 0.5 liter beer. I therefore definitely do not recommend that anyone interested in traveling book half board, but rather breakfast. But the breakfast was also very disappointing, as you can see in the pictures. The exact same, very limited selection was served consistently for over two weeks. 1 type of sausage, 1 type of cheese, butter. Some of the sausage was so rancid that I wouldn't even have given it to the street dogs to eat. I was forced to shop at the supermarket and bring a bag of my own things with me to the hotel breakfast so that I could at least eat normally and have a bit more variety. In the bathrooms (I saw three different ones) there is always mold-like discoloration somewhere in the tiles. Unfortunately, the rooms weren't always swept and cleaned well, so that on some days I had black feet from walking barefoot in my room. Overall, the stay at Aanari Hotel could be much nicer if the staff put more effort into providing hot food at the evening buffet, breakfast selection and room cleanliness.
