Amilla Maldives and Baa Atoll exceeded our expectations in every single way. We were impressed with the spacious and beautiful reef water villa and the attentiveness of our butler (Jupiter) and all of the wait staff. The food was amazing and there were plenty of options to choose from. We have been to a lot of different destinations but this is by far our favorite.

Amazing week at Amilla.
We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday at Amilla. It was our first time in the Maldives and we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place.
The island itself is beautiful, natural, spread out and surrounded by an amazing house reef.
The team who run and work at Amilla are all fabulous. Everyone we spent time with was dedicated, genuine and proud to be there. It came across in every experience we had there.
We chose a reef water villa and it was huge and brilliantly laid out. We loved climbing straight into the ocean for a snorkel or relaxing on our pool deck. We cycled around the island and absolutely loved visiting the hidden beach spots, jungle trails and viewing the sea life from the jetty.
The food and drink were varied and outstanding throughout and the theme nights were a highlight.
Feeling Koi is a must visit for high end sushi and Japanese food but we equally enjoyed the fish n chips served on Saturday evenings for a more casual experience.
The choice of wine was excellent and much of it was included in our dine around package and we also enjoyed the interesting cocktails and mock tails created by the bar team.
There was a varied and great range of activities that we took part in including a DJ class, kombucha making, massages in the spa and there was always something to do but also the ability to do nothing and just chill on the beautiful beach.
The most memorable moments will be the guided snorkelling in the blue hole or house reef where we were lucky enough to swim with giant turtles and reef sharks
There is so much more to say but you can not be anything but delighted at Amilla

We thought the whole week was magical, the staff were really attentive, our katheeb Buddy was just the right balance of supportive without being intrusive. The reef villa was huge and comfortable, and the access to the reef was unbelievable. We spent way more time in the water snorkelling than we thought we would, sometimes getting in three snorkelling sessions in a day from various points around the island.
(Our first time at Amilla, and our first time in the Maldives - so take this from a Maldives newbie perspective, but from someone with a decent amount of high-end accommodation in Asia and elsewhere.)
GENERAL VIBE
Jungly, not too built-up. Laidback. Not bling. Lazy bike rides everywhere. Bats flying through the trees. Largely felt uninhabited except at mealtimes. Elegantly classy without being stuffy. Maybe slightly disjointed in terms of guest interactions, but maybe that's just the Maldives for you.
THE STAFF
Overall a great experience. Bearing in mind that I don't think we asked as much of our Katheeb Buddy as much as other guests might do, he was very responsive when we did need him and very chilled out and friendly. He proactively booked stuff for us, and gave us guidance on snorkelling spots - even took us out snorkelling with him on the last day. He was unobtrusive, not obsequious but available when required and interested in our happiness and welfare.
THE SNORKELLING
The reef was great. We had great visibility on the northwest side of the island. Saw reef sharks, nurse sharks, eagle rays, green and hawksbill turtles, morays, and lots of "fish soup" schools. Lots of parrotfish and the odd titan triggerfish. We loved it so much and being able to just nip in for a quick half hour from the back deck of the villa was sensationally good. We loved our expeditions too - the Blue Hole trip showed us that actually we could snorkel over to it from our villa, which we did repeatedly, and the one that went out on the boat to the islands and reefs south of us was great too. The coral and fish life on the submerged atoll to the south was outstanding.
