Coco Bodu Hithi is a lovely island, very very green and kept immaculate, really enjoyable to walk the island through overhanging palms. The only disappointing thing was there was no where you could walk into the sea with ease to swim, because the seabed was very sharp with coral fragments and unless you had boots on it was quite painful, obviously why each villa had its own pool. We could not fault anything else, the staff, the island, the food were all excellent. The bedrooms were attractive and enormous . The coral has suffered like everywhere but there is strong regrowth and the quantity of fish life and species including turtles makes snorkelling great. To be recommended.

We are just back from Coco having spent 2 weeks there in February this year. Our first time to the Maldives and it is and was total PARADISE. Resort was great! We had an Escape Water Bungalow and it backed onto a coral reef so great for snorkelling. The resort was mainly couples, hardly any children, not much to do there, but that suited us as we wanted a chilled, relaxing holiday. There are water sports and a small games room, but the island is beautiful and the food was amazing. All in all, we were sad to leave - no complaints whatsoever. What made it very special was the staff - they were 5 Star. Our maid (who has worked there for 10+ years) was great and kept the bungalow tidy at all times and did amazing decorations on our bed for a birthday and anniversary. A big thanks to VENKY - who works in the bar, never kept us waiting and showed good management and leadership skills. SAMI - who works in the main restaurant, was really friendly and warm at every meal, and LEO the (little) chef with a big smile - great food, thank you LEO. We eat at every restaurant on the island, and some great food, with superb taste, very fresh and presented well. But big, big thanks to TOMI - our sort of 'concierge' who was such a lovely person who could not do enough for us, arranged everything for us, and even helped us throughout the holiday. We cannot wait to go back to Paradise at COCO, Thank you!

We stayed here for 4 days in a water villa. Reef, beach and activities are good, rooms are ok but with dim light and somewhat old construction. The food was good if you are non veg and like seafood. Veg options were boring and limited. But what's really something we did not like as an Indian couple is that the staff here treated european guests very nicely, smiling at them, being very polite to them, making all services to them very promptly whereas for us as Indian guests staff were inattentive, rude and ignored us. They even made faces at us and didn't even smile once. We had to follow up multiple times with reception for simple things like water. Worse part is most of the staff that is discriminating against Indian is itself Indian and Sri Lankan. Still they have bias against their own brown brothers and sisters. I would advise indians to avoid this resort as there is clear bias against Indians here. If it hadn't been for this shoddy service and bias, this would have been a good resort.

Disappointing Experience Despite a Stunning Location We recently stayed at this resort in the Maldives, drawn by the breathtaking natural beauty and marine life—and in that regard, it certainly delivered. The setting is extraordinary: crystal-clear waters, the opportunity to swim with turtles and even spot reef sharks. The island’s nature is genuinely mesmerizing. Unfortunately, the service and overall experience fell dramatically short of what one would expect from a five-star resort, especially considering the price point—around $2,000 per day for a couple, including accommodation, dining, drinks, and basic excursions. Let’s start with the restaurants. The average dinner for two cost around $300–350, similar to fine dining in Dubai. However, the quality and service are nowhere near comparable. Water refills were constantly delayed, and in one instance, after requesting a fresh plate while eating shellfish, I was told to place the shells directly on the cutting board. Completely unacceptable. The buffet, priced at around €200 per couple, was by far the most limited and underwhelming I’ve seen in a luxury property. It felt more like a basic offering than a five-star spread. Making things worse, the restaurant staff often claimed venues were fully booked, but once inside, we consistently found them nearly empty. It gives the impression of artificial scarcity rather than genuine high demand. One of the most frustrating issues was with the kids’ club. We had booked an excursion for the two of us, only to find that the staff member responsible for the mini club had called in sick, and no alternative was arranged. I was left having to insist that they find a replacement—after all, we were paying premium rates. They eventually brought someone in, but only for two hours. On Sunday, we were told the kids’ club was closed because it was “Sunday”—as if weekends matter on a private island. The private pool in our villa had black paint peeling off. My daughter and I came out of the water covered in black stains. When reported, the response was that the pool had just been repainted and nothing could be done. Again, not acceptable for a property of this level. The outdoor shower had no water pressure, making it unusable. Excursions were also poorly managed. We paid $250 for a manta and turtle experience—didn’t see a single creature. It lasted just one hour and felt like a rushed, meaningless trip. Not worth the cost. The minibar in our villa was another disappointing aspect. After taking a pack of chips and a soda, it was never restocked. At this price point, it’s absurd that guests have to request such basic items to be replenished. We also booked a couples’ massage advertised at $270, only to be charged $344 at checkout. Because here, for dinner and massage they apply taxes and service charges (an additional 26% on everything), but this was not communicated clearly upfront, as per the excursion this wasn't applied, and we thought it was only a dinner thing. Evenings at the resort are dull, with absolutely no entertainment or atmosphere. By 9 PM we were already back in the room. In summary, the island’s natural beauty is undeniable, given we were able to swim with little sharks and one turtle, but the experience stops there. The resort fails to deliver a 5 stars service. We were initially considering returning, but after this stay, although we have been decently overall, we’ve changed our minds.

Wonderful place to spend, food was good, room was clean, we booked a private pool villa and we enjoyed the view. We booked it for a week and it is a private island, so we dont have much choice to have fun. So Max 2 to 3days is fine.
