Our stay at Coco Bodu Hithi in the Maldives was simply perfect. It was, without a doubt, the best experience of our lives. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
We spent our honeymoon here, and the team went above and beyond to make it truly unforgettable. The attention to detail, the warm hospitality, and the personalized touches made us feel so special.
A special mention goes to Shihan, our incredible host. Words cannot describe how amazing he was. He anticipated our every need, ensured we were comfortable at all times, and added such a personal touch to every moment of our stay. He genuinely made us feel like royalty!
The beauty of the resort, the stunning surroundings, and the exceptional service made this a vacation we will cherish forever. We honestly can’t recommend Coco Bodu Hithi enough to anyone looking for a dream getaway.
Thank you for making our honeymoon so magical. We will never forget this experience and hope to return soon!

Beautiful island 30 KM from Male with excellent service standards and stunning coral to snorkel. If you love the idea of paradise for a few days with golden sands, sumptuous food and staff that care then this is a good place for you to consider. Recommend a villa on stilts on the east of the Atoll for the best diving. Sunsets to die for too!

If you are planning to spend money anywhere in Maldives for an island / overwater hotel holiday, do not go to this place. Save your money. Go anywhere else.
1 - we booked the most expensive rooms, the Coco Residence. We got an old, dated room. The tiles in the swimming pool were broken and coming off. My wife even got a cut from one of these tiles on her knee. After complaining to our Host, we waited for half a day before we could get a new room, which was significantly better. They didn’t really do anything to apologise about the inconvenience of my wife’s bleeding knee, except deliver some bandaids to us. Great start.
2. They take your luggage before boarding the boat at male airport, and deliver it to your rooms. They somehow managed damage my brand new check in bag, which is a very expensive hard case carry on. They managed to make a very ugly, permanent dent into a brand new carry on bag. When I complained about this, instead of taking ownership, or apologising, all they kept saying was “our luggage team assured us they took your bags carefully’ 😂
3. When we went to our minibar to open and purchase a can of Pringles, we realized they have left an open, half eaten can in the room. We complained about this and this was replaced in a few hours, but this is not the kind of service and quality we expect when we’re paying thousands of dollars a. Ight for a hotel room.
4. Most of the restaurants are pretty average. The cocktails everywhere were horrendous, so please avoid. The buffet at Air restaurant was good in the selection of choices. All other paid restaurants are too expensive with not nearly as good food.
5. There are many good snorkelling points around the hotel. Very much worth snorkelling every day. The snorkel kit rental process was smooth and easy.
6. The spa was amazing. The ladies who did our 90-min massage were amazing. Worth it.
7. At the end of the trip, before check back onto the speedboat, I was told by our host that their manager wants to speak with me about all the complaints and issues we had. Finally, a glimpse of hope. Someone was finally going to apologise or offer compensation. But, when we met the manager (Faiz I think his name is), he was pretty useless. He just said “I’m aware of the situation with your luggage being harmed. I have checked with our luggage team and they found no defects in your bag when we got it or dropped it off”. I mean, pretty useless thing to say.
All in all, not worth going there. Specially avoid this place if you are going for your honeymoon or something. Maldives has many better places to offer.

Our honeymoon at Coco Bodu Hithi (Dec 18-22) was a regrettable experience. Despite paying a premium (₹3.5 lakh), the service, food, and overall hospitality were deeply disappointing.
Key Issues:
1. Cheap Honeymoon Decoration
The bed decoration was uninspired—just green leaves with no romantic touch, far from the elegance expected.
2. Missed Activities
The complimentary canoe/kayak ride never happened due to “bad weather” for 4 days, with no alternative offered. The promised photoshoot was mismanaged; we weren’t informed of the timing, and no effort was made to communicate properly.
3. Terrible Food & Bias Against Indian Guests
Indian food options were limited to dal and rice daily, resembling prison food. The buffet catered almost entirely to Europeans. When we complained, the chef admitted they don’t prioritize Indian cuisine due to fewer Indian guests—a shocking bias.
4. Discriminatory Treatment
Staff showed clear favoritism toward European guests, greeting them warmly, pulling out chairs, and ensuring buggies were always available. Meanwhile, we had to call repeatedly for basic services like water. Even at the seaplane send-off, staff ignored us while engaging warmly with European couples.
5. Aging Rooms
The Escape Water Villa was poorly maintained, with faulty doors, inadequate lighting, and no bubble bath essentials. Our Beach Villa lacked promised beach access, which seemed reserved for European guests.
6. Floating Breakfast Disaster
The floating breakfast was substandard—stale waffles, tasteless juice, and wrong items served, showing a lack of attention to detail.
7. Unhelpful Host
Our host, Aida, never checked on us or addressed concerns like the missed activities or poor food, making the stay even worse.
Coco Bodu Hithi failed us on all fronts—service, food, and hospitality. Indian guests, in particular, should avoid this resort due to evident bias. We deeply regret not booking Sun Siyam Olhuveli, which offers much better service. Coco Bodu Hithi is overpriced and overrated; avoid it if you value your time and money.
