**Review of Grand Princess Riviera**
My wife and I recently celebrated our honeymoon at the Grand Princess Riviera, and while we had some wonderful moments, there were a few aspects of our stay that left us disappointed.
First and foremost, I want to highlight the fantastic staff at the resort. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The hospitality truly made us feel special, which is what you hope for during a honeymoon. The dining options were plentiful, and we enjoyed several delicious meals throughout our stay.
However, our experience was marred by a frustrating incident involving transportation. Upon checking out, we were informed by the hotel staff that we could take a shuttle to downtown Playa del Carmen at a discounted guest price. We were excited about this option, as it seemed like a great way to explore the area without breaking the bank. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the designated shuttle area, we were told we had to pay the full taxi price instead. This felt misleading and left us feeling frustrated, especially since we had relied on the information provided by the hotel.
It's disappointing when communication falls short, especially in a place that prides itself on excellent service. We expected more transparency regarding transportation options, especially for guests celebrating a special occasion like our honeymoon.
Overall, while we enjoyed many aspects of our stay at Grand Princess Riviera, this experience with the transportation situation left a sour note. I hope the resort can address these communication issues in the future to ensure that other guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience. Despite this hiccup, we did have a memorable honeymoon, and we appreciate the hard work of the staff who made our stay enjoyable.

My family absolutely loves this resort! We had the best stay. Every employee was kind and hard working. All the restaurants we made reservations at were delicious & the waiters were 10/10. We loved how much wildlife was on the resort too. We really can't think of a single complaint we had. The only thing I would say is that do not even waste your time listening to the speech about joining their platinum member club because it's $30,000 (USD). We considered it since this was my husband's second time at the resort and we do plan on coming back, but we were definitely not interested in that price tag.

At first glance the resort looks beautiful but after spending a week there it became evident that the hotel is lacking on maintenance. The ceiling outside of our room was leaking the entire week leaving a massive puddle in the hallway. The hair dryer was broken in my room. The thermostat didn’t adjust the temperature at all and the room had a musty smell. The scale to weigh bags was also broken. The public restrooms were dirty. There also weren’t any limes or lime juice available for 4 days so no drinks containing limes were available. We talked to other people at neighboring resorts and they didn’t have this issue at all.
Staff: while the staff were very friendly the resort was understaffed for the number of guests. There was one waiter working at the buffet so we were unable to get drinks other than water. There was no one available at the towel desk so if you needed a dry towel you were out of luck. Very long lines for the bars because there was usually only person working. At other all inclusive resorts staff was always approaching us taking our drink orders but at this resort we were asked once during the entire time there. The bell hop to pick us and our luggage up when we were leaving also didn’t show up and we had to have someone call him. I called guest services 3 times and never got through to anyone.
Buffets: The food was similar to other resorts but the buffets were messier. Food was either mislabeled or not labeled at all. This was dangerous because of the food allergies that my family has. The snack riviera buffet had a strong sewage smell on one side that made the experience very unappetizing. The food also seemed to run out a lot and some of the stuff looked like it was from previous days.
Restaurants: The restaurants for dinner were very good and staff was very helpful and friendly.
Entertainment: the shows that I saw were wonderful.
In all I would not go back to this resort. We’ve been to several in the area and this was probably our worst experience.

Had a wonderful vacation. My husband and I stayed for a week and we had exceptional service from everyone working there. The ladies at the spa were especially awesome. The beach was pretty good for swimming, except some rocky bits so water shoes would probably be helpful. I’m only taking away one star because the food was only okay. I am pretty picky when it comes to food though. But everything else was great.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this resort, and it was truly a delightful experience. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the food—there were over 50 varieties of delicious dishes to choose from, catering to every taste.
The rooms were extremely spacious, offering plenty of space to relax. While the building itself shows its age a little, the interior is well-maintained, and the bathrooms, which have been recently renovated, were spotless and modern.
The staff at the Resort deserve special mention. They were incredibly polite, attentive, and always went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Their warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome.
The resort also boasts very beautiful outdoor spaces. The gardens are well-kept and provide a tranquil setting for a morning walk or an evening chat. The pool area was clean and inviting, perfect for a refreshing dip. The beach was fantastic!!!
Overall, this resort provides a fantastic mix of comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. A few updates to the building’s exterior could make this gem even more perfect, but it’s already a wonderful destination!
