The hotel is located on a small but nice beach. I would say overall a nice place to stay if you want a smaller resort. Food and drinks have been good. This is not 5 star Hotel. More like 4 star. Lots of families and kids, mostly locals and Spanish speaking, however I enjoy mixing in with this culture. The restaurant service has been very good. Everyone friendly. They need more sun loungers.

Vacation taken in September 2024 with a large group of 10+ people and children.
We stayed in the Sens hotel which gives you access to the Grand Oasis section and restaurants. The rooms were average, nothing spectacular but not terrible either. Room staff were extremely nice and accommodating. BEWARE, our room on the 7th floor dispensed almost boiling hot water, very dangerous if you are not aware, especially with children and elders.
The front staff were a hit or miss, some were very upbeat and friendly but most were snotty/arrogant. Its almost as if their position at the front desk gives them a sense of superiority not seen in other staff members (wait, room, etc.)
All wait staff were very friendly and accommodating except for Reyna at the Hacienda Buffet. She was extremely rude every time we went, never smiled and made you feel like you were a bother. She also spoke to a colleague about our group and how we were taking too long, we literally heard her since we were two feet away. Very unprofessional. The fruit drinks were very watered down. Loved the amount of restaurants available, loved the selection!! The food itself is not super great but its decent and you never get bored because they change every night. Many restaurants require a reservation for dinner, so be sure to do that at the start of the vacation. The reservation restaurants are VERY posh and gourmet! would recommend.
Major CON: not very kid friendly
The kids pool is terrible. The floor needs to be refinished as it is chipping and will literally scrape the kids feet if they are not wearing water shoes. Also, the kids pool has steps that are not visible so you tend to bump into the steps as you are walking inside, I fell several times until I memorized where they were. They also don't have kid friendly entertainment, most of it is geared towards adults (very nice) but not for kids. The Blue Crab kid center is nice but children must stay without adults, so if your child is not comfortable with that it wont be used.
The beach is very nice in this area as there are no waves, and you can snorkel peacefully.

I do NOT recommend this hotel!!! Much better options in the area! The food is terrible. We added salt to everything. Flies were all over the buffets. Absolutely not worth the all inclusive price. The first room we were given was a crappy room! The bathtub didn’t drain and had mold in the sink. That floor was SUPER noisy!!! We paid to upgrade bc we wanted out of that room. The room we moved to had mold on the bathtub and the toilet ran constantly. In both rooms the shower would randomly get REALLY hot or REALLY cold. The decorative pillows on the bed were old and worn looking. Don’t love the idea of pillows without covers on them bc how are they cleaned. The positives: the pool is awesome and the hammocks in the ocean were enjoyable. This part of the water isn’t as nice as other areas and there are much better options for hotels!

This is a mediocre hotel. The rooms are small and mediocre. The elevators are tiny and take a long time. The buffets range from bad to pretty good. The reserve only restaurants are quite good. We had a few issues when we were there:
1. We accidentally spilled red wine on the bedding and they charged us approximately $39 USD. It didn’t penetrate the mattress. We thought $39 was steep considering it could be removed with some soaking and bleach as the sheets are white and we immediately reported it to them.
2. They couldn’t provide us a shuttle to pick us up from the airport, so it cost us $86 USD to get our own. Considering the shuttle cost was supposed to be included in our vacation package, I’d hoped they’d waive the $39 cleaning fee for the sheets, but NOOOOOOOOOO.
3. When we checked out, they charged us a $25 or $30 environmental fee of some sort.
Additionally:
The head waiter at Miramar only addresses males when greeting a couple. Very sexist. It happened every day that we were there. He ignored me and only addressed my husband. 😳
They don’t have decaf espresso at the cafe, so they use instant decaf coffee. 😝
The beds are hard and they only provide a top sheet and thin blanket (in the closet) for bedding. You only get 3 pillows. The decorator pillows have permanent covers on them that are tattered and worn. I didn’t even want them touching our bed they were that gross.
On the last two days, the cleaning staff stopped refilling items like clean hand towels, Kleenex, and face cloths.
Minus Pueblo (head waiter) at Miramar, the staff were mostly friendly, especially at the reserve only restaurants.
I’ll never go back, but I have to say, I loved the hammocks that hang in the ocean by the beach and the Michael Jackson impersonator was absolutely fantastic! That show was the best part of the whole week! 🥰 They also have flute and sax players playing by the pool in the early evenings which is absolutely lovely!
I rate this hotel 5/10.

Don’t do it! The room smelled of mold, the food was sub-par cafeteria style. It was practically impossible to get a pair of sunbeds with shade unless you are at the beach at 6AM (no joke!) You can book certain sun beds for 50 USD a day, but only same day and only if you start lining up at 7:15, 45 minutes prior to the reservations of the sunbeds open…Honestly, endless lines and difficult rules for booking is not vacation for me, and certainly not luxury. As for the dining experience…Again, it is very difficult to actually book a table at the “good” restaurants, and if you are not able to, the line can be 60 min plus just to get inside the no-reservation places. I ended up ordering pizza for dinner the first couple of days for this reason, and was practically high jacked by people in line for dinner asking me where I had ordered from…I think that is a testament to a poorly run hotel. Also, the sushi service by the pool is terrible. The line can be 40 minutes and the quality is awful. First time ever, I have thrown out my sushi. Furthermore, the drinks at the bars are not great. I ordered gin and tonic. It tasted mostly tonic. So I asked for just gin to better determine what was in my drink. I was given just tonic. (?) I asked again for just the gin. I received it, and you could barely taste the alcohol and it did not taste like gin. I then asked for just Bombay Sapphire, tasted it and asked for some tonic water and got it. So if you do decide to go here, against my advice, ask for a specific type of alcohol to make sure you know what you drink. So summarizing the hotel, I think they make sure the quality of food and drinks are as cheap as possible and that the long lines/ low capacity make sure you can enjoy even less of it. The beach with hammocks and order-in pizza is what saved our week. I would however never visit this hotel again regardless of the price.
