We spent an unforgettable week at Ocean Maya Royale – a true paradise in the heart of Mexico! The resort is beautifully maintained down to the smallest detail, surrounded by lush greenery and home to exotic animals that we enjoyed spotting during our walks around the grounds. The suites are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We opted for the Privilege service, and it was absolutely worth it: the attention to guests is flawless in every way. A special thank you goes to David, who was always kind, attentive, and professional! The Privilege restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay – intimate and elegant atmosphere, top-quality dishes, and outstanding service. The other restaurants in the resort also offer a wide variety of cuisines and options to suit every taste. The beach reserved for Privilege guests is peaceful and well-equipped – perfect for relaxing in the sun with a cocktail in hand. Speaking of cocktails: the pool with swim-up bar and open bar service quickly became one of our favorite spots to spend the afternoon in total relaxation. In short, we highly recommend Ocean Maya Royale to anyone looking for a vacation full of comfort, relaxation, and top-tier service. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

We had 8 in our group and we shared a lot of the same opinions about our stay. The rooms had excellent air conditioning and were very clean, although the beds and pillows were highly uncomfortable. Most of the food was pretty bad to be honest except for the hibachi, which was the best food there. All the restaurants and the lobby were very hot during the day because of little to no air conditioning/air flow except the coffee shop. They had good air conditioning and fast service but the drinks themselves were not great quality. Although we didn’t participate in a lot of them, they did have a good amount of options for activities throughout the day. We really enjoyed the fire show and the Latin dance show. The hammocks between the pool and beach were nice to relax in the shade but we did get some sand flea bites while utilizing them, one of us getting them severely. The pool chairs are all snatched up very early in the day so it makes it hard to enjoy the pool much at all because there’s no where to sit your towels and shoes that isn’t in the way without a chair. The staff was mostly just average, a couple people were nicer than most but overall they seemed like they didn’t care much to be helpful and the restaurant servers were quite slow and not very welcoming or personable. Overall, I would say it was all very average at best. I think a different time of year would be better as far as not being so hot trying to eat at the restaurants or enjoy other amenities but they could also invest in better airflow/air conditioning within buildings. I think the biggest disappointment has to be the food though. I would not return to this resort, to be honest.

We chose this property after staying at Ocean El Faro in DR which I loved! This resort was smaller than the one in DR however it was perfect for what we wanted for our 4 day vacation. We came to relax before the hectic school year begins and also to celebrate our 11 year Anniversary. Our room was a great size, clean, bright and airy! We were in the Privelege building which is closest to the main square, most restaurants and lobby/ bar. The app they have is so convenient to book reservations for specialty restaurants and to find out what events/ activities were happening daily plus more. Food- Specialty Restaurants such as Tepenyaki, Italian, Mexican, and Romantic dinner were all really good. Food was fresh, offered nice variety and delicious. The Buffet was always good whether it was for breakfast lunch or dinner. We liked that the buffet offered different cuisines for dinner each nite such as Brazilian and Italian. The pizza bar that made fresh assorted pies from 12-5pm right outside of the Mexican restaurant was one of my favorites for a mid day bite. Sports bar- great for late night food which was made fresh to order and was always delicious Pools- 2 pools, one quiet which was the larger one and the other was the activity pool with the swim up bar which is where we spent more of our time. Loved the pool entertainment daily, the foam party and the nite foam party which was soo much fun and different! Never change that. Evening Entertainment, was hosted at the main square which was perfect for after dinner and offered a variety of shows that was put on by the crew and or guests of the resort such as “talent show nite” and karaoke. We enjoyed the ping pong table as well. Beach- the beach was nice with calm warm waters and limited sargassum. We enjoyed the jet ski that we were able to rent right off the beach and book right by the quiet pool. The hammocks were so relaxing and shaded and we took the best nap there. Drinks- all drinks/ cocktails were made with quality liquors and mixers and there were plenty of options to choose from. The bartenders were always nice, kind and attentive. Only true Con I’d say is there are many mosquitos so please come prepared with plenty of bug spray because you will get bit up especially at night! Special shoutout to…. Viri- Entertainment Team Kendell- Ent. Team Vicente - Lahacienda (breakfast) Angel- La Hacienda Jorge- Lobby bar (hope I got his name right) Thank you Ocean, we will be back! With love from NYC! Viri was amazing from the entertainment crew, She is very approachable, knowledgeable and makes sure you are having a great time.. Thank you viri and the rest of the entertainment crew

Had a fantastic time visiting this hotel in August, so much so I’m going to come get married there next year. The rooms are beautiful but the staff at this resort, essentially everyone who works there make the experience amazing. Huge shout out to the entertainment staff especially Kendall, he’s a huge reason why my stay has been so wonderful and one of the main reasons I would like to come back very soon! Excellent resort I’ll be back!

My wife and I had a 10 day stay at the Ocean Maya in Playa Del Carmen. It was our first visit to Mexico, and after the hospitality we received it won’t be our last visit there. Silvia who kept our room clean and tidy. Octavio, who worked in La Hacienda and the lobby was amazing. He is friendly and attentive. From the first day we arrived Yovannetti looked after my wife and I in the lobby, at the evening beach time activities and any time we wanted a drink! She is super friendly and always happy to help! Dayen in La Hacienda makes the best omelette. Miguel and Javier on the poolside bars were also happy to help! We highly recommend this place as the staff go above and beyond.
