Kuruvilla Eapen
This is a hotel that has a good legacy and has the potential to be run much better. Good location, views, rooms, facilities, service, grandeur, and a lot of things are well done but one of the most important things - breakfast food and how it is managed, just let you down so much here. This experience is based on the breakfast buffet alone but for 4 days straight and nothing much changed on any of these days.
Gets EXTREMELY crowded during breakfast and the experience is far from pleasant. Poorly managed and it was very disappointing. Good efforts from all the people providing the service at the hotel, but it's just too disappointing to see that tables are not available, you have to go to another restaurant elsewhere in the hotel or sit in the ballroom for breakfast where there is hardly any service, some dishes are not available, etc., etc... it's too much to talk about.
I repeat, this has the potential to do much better despite being one of the oldest (45 years), big hotels in the area.
Note - this is not the only big hotel I stayed at while in Dubai, this is not the only Hyatt I have stayed at.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Deira Dubai with my wife and daughter, and it was an exceptional experience. Here's why:
Location:
The hotel is perfectly located near Gold Souk and other markets, making it convenient for exploring local attractions and shopping. The surrounding area is filled with restaurants and local markets, and the hotel itself has a shopping mall with a supermarket, mobile and fragrance stores, wood-fired pizza, and more. It's also within walking distance of the Gold Souk area.
Facilities:
The hotel features unique amenities like an ice-skating rink and a fully equipped shopping mall. Rooms come with a fully furnished kitchen that includes a microwave oven, kettle, electric stove, fridge, and all essential crockery. Some rooms even have dishwashers, depending on their size.
Service:
The staff were incredibly cooperative and supportive throughout our stay. On check-in, we were given a Premium Studio 1 BHK on the 4th floor. The next day, due to a minor water issue in the bathroom, the team quickly moved us to an upgraded room on the 29th floor with a stunning sea view.
Water bottles were provided daily, and when I requested a socket converter, it was promptly given free of charge on a returnable basis. Their attentiveness and willingness to help were remarkable.
Dining:
The hotel offers two excellent restaurants for breakfast. One is on the ground floor, while the other, Al Dawaar, is Dubai’s only revolving restaurant with a breathtaking 360-degree view of Dubai Creek. The food quality and service were outstanding—beyond words!
Special Touches:
We visited during my wife’s birthday week, and the staff went above and beyond by providing a complimentary cake and decorations. This thoughtful gesture made our stay even more special.
Amenities:
Guests have access to a free spa center and gym, which I found to be a fantastic perk.
Customer Service:
Every employee, from security and concierge to reception, cleaning, and mechanical support, greeted us with a smile and was always ready to assist. Their warm hospitality truly sets this hotel apart.
Delivery Convenience:
Online delivery through Noon (similar to Blinkit/Zomato/Amazon in Dubai) is fast and reliable. I used it to order groceries, and it worked seamlessly.
Fees and Charges:
The hotel charges a tourist fee of 10 AED per night and a security deposit of 300 AED, both of which are reasonable.
Suggestions:
The only area for improvement is responsiveness to queries on Expedia and via email, which could make the experience even better.
Overall Experience:
I would highly recommend Hyatt Regency Deira Dubai for families or long business trips. The hospitality, amenities, and location are top-notch. Unlike some experiences with Indian five-star hotels, this property focuses on providing genuine service rather than just being profit-driven.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Regency, and I can't thank the staff enough for their incredible hospitality. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the Night Manager and Natasha from Reception, both of whom made me feel special by wishing me a happy birthday. Natasha was fantastic she took the time to explain all the hotel facilities, ensuring we felt right at home.
When I entered my room, I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful flower arrangement and a delicious birthday cake waiting for me. It was such a thoughtful touch that truly made my day!
The housekeeping team was equally wonderful, always friendly and attentive to our needs throughout our stay.
