We enjoyed a week at Sandals Barbados but not without a few issues. The resort is lovely, the location is great and there are plenty of restaurants and pools to enjoy.
We had a butter service, which was OK, but not really that necessary for us.
With all the good, we had 2 major issues!
First, our room was not cleaned for 2 consecutive days!!! We had to make someone solve the issue the second day! Nobody took the initiative to correct it the first day! This was VERY inconvenient!!!
The positive on this was that once they sent someone to clean it the second day, they sent 2 OUTSTANDING individuals, Amanda & Joseph!!!!!! They should win “Employees of the Month”, in my book!!! They worked hard, quickly and were VERY pleasant!!!
Second, it took me 2 hours, over 2 days, to get a false $60 taxi charge off my bill before we could checkout! They wouldn’t accept my word that we never used a taxi but finally got another room’s butler to admit he charged it to the wrong room!
Again, we loved the actual resort and most all of the staff but I would not spent that amount of money to go there again, after what we experienced.

This was our first time in Barbados. We stayed on the Royal side but walked freely back and forth to the Sandals Barbados side. We traveled with friends for a 50th birthday party. We had a few issues with service at a couple of bars where people would walk up and cut you in line after you had been waiting. One day, they didn't clean our room. After we pointed it out, they cleaned it while we were at dinner. We had one small issue with take out that was handled by the food manager. We had a great time with the activities at the pool. Aerobics was great every day!!! Trivia, we did ask a group and won twice. The food at all the restaurants was good. The only one we we didn't care for was the night we ate at the French restaurant. The filet was not good. Otherwise, we always enjoyed our meals. We have 2 more trips booked in the future as a group, so this was a huge success.

For the life of me, I don't understand why Sandals Royal Barbados has so many negative reviews. I am a world traveler an a Travel Advisor who specializes in luxury adults only vacations. I have been to most Sandals resorts outside of Grenada and Negril and this Sandals resort, like most of the other Sandals resort, was amazing. I hosted a group of 5 couples to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. From the moment, we got off the bus we were greeted with cool towels, singing and smiles from the staff. Our check-in was seamless. The grounds, service, food and entertainment were amazing! We had a ball at Carnival night and danced until our feet and knees were sore on another night. The beach is breathtaking! White powdery sand with beautiful clear blue water - not a seaweed or critter in sight! The setup for our friend's birthday celebration in the Royal Garden was gorgeous. My only recommendation going forward is that perhaps Sandals get golf carts for the Butler clients or either have bikes available for the guests to ride like there are at Sandals Royal Curacao and Sandals St. Vincent.as the resort is huge and you can tire from walking when you consider the combination of Sandals Royal Barbados and Sandals Barbados. At any rate, my stay was too short and I am looking forward to come back next December to celebrate my birthday and to stay a bit longer - smile. Well done Sandals Royal Barbados!

Our stay was in December, over the Christmas holiday, we stayed in a butler room as we got an upgrade from a trip being canceled through no fault of our own. Ride over from the airport was fun, the driver was very engaged with all of us on the bus. Upon arriving we were met by 1 of our 3 butlers for the week. Treymane,Tony, and Kadeen. Our room was amazing, clean stocked. Took it easy the first night as we got there very late afternoon, reservations were already made for us so we didn't have to worry. Next few days hung out by the pool all day, Our butlers were on it. Calling, asking, making sure we were happy. Though I did see tipping at the pool bar, we never had an issue with not being serviced, in fact some of the bar service even came around and asked and cleared our dishes, so imo I didn't feel like we were outcasts for not tipping. Went on a Silver Moon catamaran cruise and it was the best, absolutely pampered and looked after! I would definitely book that again! The snorkel trip through Sandals i would definitely skip, though this was the first Sandals snorkel trip that was like this one, I would skip out on this one at this particular resort. There were a gazillion of us on the boat, site was packed with at least a dozen boats with the same amount of people. Got kicked and shoved in the water so many times I finally just swam away from the site, when 150 people at least are trying to look at the same thing snorkeling, it doesn't go very well. Though the resort was busy we never had an issue with long wait times. Yes our butlers made a few reservations for us, but we did alot on our own. The vibe was very upbeat everyday imo. Our butlers were on it, had lunch delivered, had bubble baths drawn, with snack trays and champagne a few times, they decorated our room with lights and flowers, hearts for our anniversary. They all were extremely friendly and ready and willing to do their jobs everyday, and if they weren't they didn't show it! Had a great vacation despite all the bad reviews we read beforehand, we experienced none of it. The only reccomendation I would say is the DJ played alot of the same type of music, he show mix it up as there are all types of people, ages, likes, etc.

This was our first time at a sandals resort and we couldn’t say better things about this place! We came for our honeymoon, stayed for a whole week and paid for the butler service.
Our butler’s were Latrell, princess and Shameka and they were fantastic! I hope all three of them get employee of the month back to back. They were very efficient with everything we asked of them, they had a good time with us as well and made sure we were a priority this week. Shemeka is originally not part of Latrell and princesses team , she was filling in for someone else but you wouldn’t be able to tell because of how amazing she was! Every night they would ask us where we want to start the day; either the beach or pool and they would reserve our spot for us first thing in the am. If you love to sleep in, you won’t even have to stress about getting the best pool chair or best beach chair because our butlers were on top of it.
About mid week, we noticed our air conditioner in our room stopped working one late evening. We called maintenance around 11:00pm and instantly someone came to the room 5 minutes later to see what was going on. They did try to fix it but they needed some parts and needed to wait for the other maintenance guy be back in the next day.. we absolutely said no problem. 10 minutes later he came back to the room with a fan for us so we wouldn’t be too hot during the night! We were shocked of how much they took care of us! The next day we let our butler know in the morning, and they tripled checked our room that day to make sure it was fixed and everything was set for us. We were so happy and just very grateful that we got an amazing team this week. They filled our cooler up every morning and throughout the whole day, they would even surprise us with lunches already ordered for us so we didn’t have to stress. We have never done something like this before and it was worth every penny for us!
The view from the infinity pool to the beach was stunning and gorgeous. My husband and I would just float and look out to the ocean area and be in the moment. The music at the pool was a great time! They had an amazing mix of everything. They had activities at the pool everyday, from dancing to singing to playing couples games. We took advantage of everything and had a blast!! The entertainment group knew what to do to get the crowd going!
The food we ate was amazing. We ate at all the different restaurants and took full advantage of each and every one of them.
If you are looking for a place to stay- this would be it! Because my husband and I were here for our honeymoon, the things they did for us made our trip that much better! If you can, try to request Latrell’s team! We promise you, you will not be disappointed.
