This resort is gorgeous but the overall consensus is that management has some serious fine-tuning to do.
1. The check in process was absolutely chaotic.
The check-in area was jam packed with people waiting to check in, and people who were already checked in and just waiting on their room (not to mention the constant flow of current guests having to come to the lobby to rectify an ongoing complaint because they weren’t being helped else where).
We were checked in and told to have a seat. Half hour goes by and another staff member asks us if we need assistance. We let the member know, we’re waiting on our room. She goes to the front desk, comes back to us and lets us know our room is ready, and to follow her. If that lady didn’t approach us, lord knows how much longer we would’ve been sitting there.
2. They’re clearly understaffed. My wife and I don’t bother the staff when we’re away but we noticed that our room was tended to only once, during our 5 night stay. We didn’t mind, but for the price, it was definitely expected.
While being seated at the pool area, us patrons weren’t being served, despite consistently seeing servers pass by. If anyone around the pool area wanted drinks, we had to walk up to the pool bar and get it ourselves. I didn’t like that.
3. The dining options are limited. Most foods are buffet style, in the main restaurant (Mediterranean). The fine dining option (Castle View) is always packed so make sure you make your reservation asap.
The room itself was gorgeous. The resort grounds are beautiful- but again this is expected because this is a brand new resort. I don’t imagine them being able to keep it up in the coming years, if they continue the way they’re going now. Feel free to book but, do so with a grain of salt.

I recently stayed at Wyndham Grand Barbados, and I must say, my experience was far from satisfactory. I feel compelled to share my concerns in hopes that future guests will be aware of the issues I encountered.
First and foremost, upon arrival, we had to wait for 2 1/2 hours without any accommodation, which was incredibly frustrating. To make matters worse, the front desk staff were unaware of our full payment made prior to our arrival, leading to an attempt to charge us the full amount again. It took showing proof of payment for them to finally correct the error, which felt unprofessional and disorganized.
Once we finally got to our room, we discovered our luggage had been sent to the wrong location, forcing us to wait even longer to retrieve it. Our troubles didn’t end there; while taking a shower, water flooded the bathroom, and we had to pile towels to manage the situation—definitely not what you expect from a hotel of this caliber.
To top it all off, on a late-night return, our room keys didn’t work, which added more stress to an already frustrating stay. I was also under the impression that this was an adult-only resort, yet we encountered children during our visit, which was disappointing.
Overall, our experience at Wyndham Grand Barbados was riddled with inconveniences and a lack of professionalism. I sincerely hope they address these issues to improve the experience for future guests. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Place is beautiful, Ocean view room was terrific. They have some glitches for instance no one answers the phones and housekeeping seems to be under staffed. The food at Castle View is awesome, make sure you make reservations as soon as you can. Sam Lords Grill is very good and the buffet is a buffet. Bartenders at Castle view are true mixologists and can make anything you can imagine. All in all a great experience.

I can’t rave about this resort enough. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning architecture and lush landscaping that created an inviting atmosphere. The resort was beautifully maintained, with perfectly manicured grounds. The staff was exceptionally professional and attentive; they greeted us with warm smiles and were always ready to assist with any request, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate, featuring modern amenities and tasteful décor that provided a truly relaxing environment. Every area of the resort was meticulously clean, which only added to the overall comfort. I would wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a perfect getaway; it truly exceeded all my expectations.

I recently stayed at Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All-Inclusive Resort, expecting a premium experience. Unfortunately, my stay was extremely disappointing due to multiple service failures that significantly affected my experience.
1. Lack of Responsiveness & Service Delays
Upon arrival, I immediately encountered issues with my room that required attention. From 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the first evening, I made several calls to request:
Fresh bedding replacement
Cleaning of the outdoor tubs
Repair of the outdoor jacuzzi
Despite repeated calls, there was no response from the service team. The following morning, I personally went to the front desk to report the issue. However, even after the staff contacted the service department, the situation remained unresolved. I had to return to the front desk again at noon, wasting valuable time that should have been spent enjoying my stay.
2. Unprofessional Attitude of Cleaning Staff
When housekeeping finally arrived, the staff member had a negative attitude and asked me which specific areas needed cleaning, implying that anything I didn’t mention would be ignored. This raised concerns about whether your hotel has a standard operating procedure (SOP) for room cleaning. Additionally, her demeanor only improved after we provided a tip upfront, which is entirely unprofessional and unacceptable for a high-end hotel.
3. Unusable Amenities – Presidential Suite Not as Advertised
The outdoor tubs were too dirty to use on the first day, and despite my repeated requests, the outdoor jacuzzi was never repaired throughout my stay. I specifically booked the Presidential Suite for these amenities, yet I was unable to use them, diminishing the entire purpose of my reservation.
