We came here for our honeymoon and had such a fantastic stay. Everything was wonderful from the snorkeling on the beach to the pool, to the buffet and all the restaurants and most of all the staff. Every staff member I interacted with was so kind and helpful, special shoutout to Carmen who ran a ton of the activities and Sofia, our concierge who was incredible and made sure every part of our stay was amazing. She even surprised us with champagne and flower petals in our room and the jacuzzi filled one night in honor of our honeymoon. As for the snorkeling, we didn't do the paid snorkeling that is offered by vendors on the beach, we just went out on our own and in two days saw a turtle, two stingrays and a ton of fish. If you want to see a lot of turtles the paid tours may be better, but you can see a lot without it too!

We had a great time at the resort. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. Preferred club was definitely worth the price as the room and areas to lounge were a bit more exclusive and nicer. We enjoyed many days on the beach and service was splendid. Fransico who worked/served the preferred club beach chairs was very attentive, super funny and made us feel valued. Our time in his area was the best. We loved the market cafe and wish we ate more lunches there than at the restaurants. Super good buffet style food. The rooms were turned one to two times a day. If you’re looking for a close ride to the airport, may want to stay closer, but if you want a secluded tropical getaway I highly recommend this resort.

We had a fantastic week at Secrets. Our room was great, and kept clean all week. Luis at the main pool kept our chairs clean, sunglasses shining, and kept us well informed everyday. Frederico at the main pool made sure our drinks were always full and we never went hungry. Ricardo our concierge was amazing, he helped my husband surprise me for our anniversary with a custom card, rose petals, and a bubble bath waiting for us in the evening. The beaches were kept clean and grounds were always amazing. Beautiful resort, would recommend a visit

Secrets Akumal is a little far if traveling from Cancun, but it's worth the trip. The resort is sprawling but is very well laid out. We enjoyed the activities and service around the pool. We were fortunate to be there during one of their Mexican celebration nights and it was a great experience. If we could do it over again, we would go to the Japanese restaurant every night. The food was far and away the best and the service was great. We did not enjoy the Italian restaurant. The coffee shop was also a nice treat. We also really enjoyed the acoustic band that they had at the lounge.
Secrets is one of the only resorts surrounding the protected turtle area, making it extra special. Bring your own snorkel gear or walk down the beach and rent some.
In the room, we really enjoyed the large jacuzzi tub. We unfortunately were in a building that seemed to be having some plumbing issues. The entrance to the rooms are also in hallways across from each other. This means that if you have neighbors that are in and out and don't know how to close the door softly, you might be woken up throughout the night.

Look no further if you’re looking for a perfect all inclusive in Mexico. I rarely give reviews but felt compelled to for this hotel. This is a beautiful resort with the best hospitality staff I’ve ever had. Level of service was 100%, and everyone was very friendly. The food was great for an all inclusive - every day there was great food prepared for special events like BBQs, Mexican festivals, etc. We actually rarely ate at the restaurants for this reason. When we did it was still delicious. The beach was beautiful and we never had issues getting a seat or chair (we usually arrived by 9-10am). I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and this place reset my benchmark for a great hotel. I hope to be back next year.
