A Perfect Venue for a Dream Wedding!**
I recently had the pleasure of attending my daughter’s wedding at Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club and I cannot express how perfect the experience was! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and catered to our every need.
The venue itself is stunning—beautifully landscaped gardens and elegant indoor spaces provided the perfect backdrop for both the ceremony and the reception. Our guests were in awe of the breathtaking views and charming atmosphere.
The catering team exceeded our expectations with a delicious menu that catered to all dietary needs. Many guests commented on how the food and arrangement was not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious.
The event coordinator was phenomenal, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. They worked closely with us to create a personalized experience that truly reflected my daughter and her partner’s vision.

Secrets Tulum is trying to keep secret how terrible this place is to go to on vacation. Staff gives a first impression that they will be attentive but quickly change their tone once they’ve shipped you off to their timeshare presentation. Staff is generally inattentive around the resort. The best staff interactions were the waiters at the restaurants. Otherwise, you can ask staff for something and expect to never see them again in your life. In addition, similar to other reviews, my girlfriend and I experienced issues with the housekeeping staff going through our belongings and then subsequently continuing to enter our room after we specifically requested them not to. When it rained, the resort leaked from the ceilings and left puddles all over. I almost slipped and fell more times than I got served a drink after ordering one. It almost came across as them being cheap and not wanting to provide the goods and services that were already payed for. Nothing about this resort felt luxurious, and I could not recommend more that you reevaluate if you are considering staying here.

I never leave reviews but this place is very deserving of one. I saw a ton of reviews on this secrets with some being pretty critical or so-so, but between the food, atmosphere, service and wonderful staff I am extremely impressed and glad I listened to my gut and gave this newer secrets resort a chance. They have made us feel like royalty from the moment we checked in. I would also like to mention how safe and secure this resort is, as I know some travelers are concerned with this. It’s extremely safe within the resort and there is a gate to get into the main entrance. I also want to mention Jessica, Ilse and Antonio are just wonderful. They were above and beyond. This secrets will see us returning again very soon

We stayed at Tulum Secrets for a week in late December into early January. After a long travel day, we were excited to arrive, but things didn’t start well. At check-in, we were approached by a saleswoman pushing a $20K unlimited package and wasted over three hours of our first sunny day at a mediocre breakfast and sales pitch at another Secrets property. Unless you’re ready to commit to something like that, don’t fall for it.
Our King Junior Suite was spacious and clean, but the swim-up suites lacked privacy, and the circular building design meant everyone could see onto the balconies. The bathroom had a beautiful rainfall shower, though hot water was inconsistent. Room service was underwhelming, with limited options—chips and salsa were the best item, but I’ve had better from Taco Bell. Drinks were average unless you specify your liquor of choice.
Dining on the property was just okay. Blue Water Grille had the best food, but overall nothing stood out. A major inconvenience was the lack of reservations at the restaurants, resulting in long waits. If you want to eat at a specific time, plan to arrive 30 minutes to an hour early.
The best part of our stay was the spa, especially the hydrotherapy circuit. It was pricey, but definitely worth it for relaxation.
My biggest complaint was the taxi situation—prices were heavily inflated, and the “beach shuttle” was just a ride in the back of a truck. On our last day, we learned you could walk down the driveway and get a taxi for $20 less—do that and confirm prices beforehand.
While the property had its nice moments, the sales tactics, long dining waits, and overpriced taxis were too frustrating. The spa was great, but overall, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are better options in Tulum for the price.

Unbelievably Disappointing – Avoid Secrets Tulum!
We’ve stayed at Secrets hotels before and always had great experiences, which is why it’s so shocking and disappointing that Secrets Tulum is part of the same company. This place is a complete disgrace to the Secrets brand.
Yes, the property is beautiful, and most of the staff are friendly, but that’s where the positives end. The food is mediocre at best—nothing like the high-quality meals we’ve enjoyed at other Secrets locations. The hotel is also poorly maintained, with cracked tiles, peeling paint, and broken amenities. They charge $50 to use the spa, but the sauna doesn’t even heat properly (barely gets over 50°C), and the steam room is out of order. How is this acceptable at a so-called luxury resort?
The real nightmare began on the first night when my wife woke up with bites. After the second night, it was clear something was seriously wrong. We reported it, but instead of helping, the hotel denied there was an issue. Their exterminator claimed the room was fine, and they refused to move us to another room of equal quality. Their only “compensation”? Access to another restaurant. Insulting.
What made things even worse was the way they treated my wife and her service dog. We informed the hotel in advance, provided all the required documentation, and even gave original copies for them to keep at check-in. Despite this, staff repeatedly harassed her, made rude comments, and denied her access to several restaurants until a manager finally stepped in. The situation escalated to the point where a manager yelled at my wife and suggested we leave. This is utterly inexcusable.
We had planned a two-week stay but were so disgusted by the treatment that we left after one week. Even then, we only got a refund for the unused nights because American Express intervened on our behalf. The hotel refused to compensate us for the week we endured.
We cannot believe this hotel operates under the Secrets brand. If you’ve stayed at other Secrets resorts, don’t expect the same level of quality or professionalism here. Avoid Secrets Tulum at all costs.
