This truly doesn’t match to Westin or premium Marriott property standards. Especially the check in experience and process is pathetic. Even being an Elite member you might need to wait for 2-3 hours to get your room. The communication between front desk and housekeeping is equally pathetic. Lot of improvement need.
Overall the property is well located and provides a nice view of the sea and has private access to the beach. So depending on how well self organised you are, you will either enjoy or struggle a bit.

Beautiful place, tiered architecture on the hillside. Super friendly staff. Great for dinner or drinks even if you're not staying here.
Staff became lifelong friends and the Dutch intern pair Estelle and Thijn were the best hosts.

We rented a car during our stay, so it's easy to travel around Langkawi island. Parking is ample, and the entrance is guarded 24/7. We're presently surprised with a gift in our room when we arrived. Breakfast buffet has lots of choices to choose from like western, Japanese and many local choices.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, the ambience of the place is nice, like a well maintained garden. The beach is located near the hotel. The room and toilet are clean.

Arrived and the check in process was not co-ordinated with their crew. Checked into my room and the rooms looked a little old with my cabinet drawers slanting and the TV not working well with the remote. The fridges were also missing items that was stated to be and this raises some concerns for me. They are still renovating the rooms and area and I was shocked to hear drilling sounds at approximately 10pm+ from my room. Had actually expected better. Redeeming points were they are nearby the Langkawi Fair Mall, Jetty Point Complex and also Eagle Square. And I liked the quieter location that they are in.

The resort needs to grow on you. At first you are disappointed with the rooms which need refurbishing. Seems not touched since 5 years or more. Maybe the villas are better, I’m talking about the hotel rooms.
The reception chairs, cushions and carpets are old and dirty. You feel disappointed.
Then you realize the great outdoor area with lots of pools and nice and clean beach. Very friendly staff and good food.
After we have been at Changeng beach and saw the rubbish, we are happy to be back at the resort.
Whatever the Star-rating is about, it’s not 5 Stars but would be not much to get there. A bit of paint, repair and refurbished would bring it up to 5 Stars again. A quality assurance manager would be needed!
The Bonvoy group need to look at this jewel which fell out of love but has great potential.
