I stayed here as a solo traveler in Feb 2025 after completing the Fisherman's Trail hike. This hotel is well located right outside the old town area of Lagos, and a short walk to the marina and the city bus terminal.
This four star hotel is starting to show signs of its age, but in a very charming and elegant way. The sweeping staircase at the lobby entrance was a nice sight. I didn't use the pool or spa area due to weather, but they looked nice. The bar and common seating areas were great - I especially enjoyed the library and the indoor communal fireplace each evening. Staff could not have been more kind and had the utmost professionalism. The breakfast was very good and had a variety of dishes to choose from.
My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Good wifi and good hot water pressure in the shower. There was a small balcony that was pleasant to sit on in the mornings.
I had an excellent stay here. Highly recommended, and I would absolutely stay again.

The hotel is exceptionally cost-effective during the winter months, offering excellent value for those looking to enjoy a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. It’s easy to imagine that this hotel will experience a significant influx of guests during the peak season, as its extensive amenities and prime location make it a top choice for travelers. The hotel spans a vast area, encompassing multiple buildings that are thoughtfully laid out across beautifully landscaped grounds, giving the entire property the feel of a serene hotel nestled within a lush garden. Visitors can wander along numerous winding paths, each leading to different corners of the hotel, revealing hidden gems and scenic spots to explore. The facilities provided at the hotel are comprehensive and well-maintained, ensuring that guests have everything they need to enjoy a seamless and stress-free stay. One of the standout features of the hotel is its free breakfast, which consistently impresses guests with its variety and quality. The spread includes a rich selection of dishes, offering both international favorites and local delicacies, allowing guests to sample the flavors of the region. Whether you're starting your day with a hearty meal or a light snack, the breakfast options cater to every taste and preference.
The room itself is somewhat compact, offering just enough space for basic amenities and a comfortable stay, though it may feel a bit tight for those who prefer more spacious accommodations. The corridor leading to the room has a slightly dim ambiance, with lighting that could use some improvement to create a brighter, more welcoming atmosphere. While the overall design of the space has its charm, some areas could benefit from a little maintenance. The wall coverings show signs of wear and tear, with certain spots needing repairs or a fresh coat of paint to restore their original appearance. Additionally, the carpets in both the room and corridor have some stains and spots that would benefit from a thorough cleaning to ensure they look their best. Overall, while the space provides a functional place to stay, some attention to these details would greatly enhance the comfort and visual appeal of the hotel.

The hotel is well located. It has the atmosphere of a bygone era - in a good way. It's an absolute maze to get around, but to me that only added to its charm.
I liked the indoor pool, gymnasium, and sauna. Being January I didn't tackle the outdoor pool but it looked inviting. The public areas and our room were very clean.
They could have tried a bit harder in the breakfast department. Two mornings in a row the eggs, bacon, sausages, in fact everything, was stone cold. The only thing that was warm were the glasses for the cold juices.
On the third day I didn't even try, I just ordered an omelette.
Overall, it's quite a good hotel, albeit somewhat frayed around the edges,

We stayed here for our Honeymoon and they staff and hotel was great! They upgraded us to a larger room and left us a bed covered in rose petals and swan blankets. They also brought us some champagne on our first night (another wonderful surprise).
The buffet breakfast had so many choices of food and was something we looked forward to every morning.
A nice walk to the old city but lovely along the water. Would stay again!

Extremely run down.
We stayed here for 4 nights in February whilst visiting family. I’m not sure how anyone used the pool facilities from reading other reviews. The outdoor pool constantly had seagulls swimming in it, and the indoor pool looked like it hasn’t been cleaned for sometime.
The whole hotel needs a facelift.
The room we were given at first was small, damp and the balcony we paid extra for was overlooking a car park and the back of an Indian curry house, the smell was so bad we could not open the balcony doors.
Thankfully the hotel did move us to an improved location of room.
After a couple of days the a/c in the room stopped working, we did call down to reception and they said they would send an engineer, but they never did.
The breakfast is standard breakfast, with tinned fruit, bread etc.
We have stayed at the Tivoli in Vilamoura before hence why we booked this hotel however it is nothing like the other hotel.
