Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Smart option for Universal Studios vacation. Very good price point. Hotel is easygoing and despite being quite a large resort.. everything is close there. Studios shuttles frequent and fast. Direct private entrance to the Volcano Bay together with Early bird entrance remains main benefits. We really enjoyed night movies by the pool. Meals/drink service is rather simple but satisfying. Probably will come back.

We had a great time at Cabana Bay Resort. It’s a Retro Themed Resort well done. The rooms are pretty spacious as far as rooms go, with retro decor. We had a pool side view, 2 queen beds room that overlooked the Lazy River area. The room was clean, the beds were ok, daughter said hers was too hard but I had no problem sleeping in mine. You get a mini frig, not stocked, coffee pot with complimentary coffee, ice bucket, cups, ironing board/iron and wall safe. The one thing I disagreed with is having to pay for parking while you stayed at the resort. There is a daily parking fee, so be advised. The Bus shuttle service was awesome. We never had to wait more than a couple minutes for pick up from Cabana Bay Resort or from Universal Studios, which was great! The Restaurants in the Resort are more like Fast food type and typical burgers and pizza. There is an area that serves specials as well as some Asian type foods but when we checked it out we didn’t see anything that appealed to our taste buds, which may be different for others. We had the Pizza, and opted to eat at City Walk because there was more variety. The Resort offered two Bars that we saw, not sure if there are more, one pool side and one in the Lobby. Lobby Bar drinks were better in our opinion.The Resort has a very large and well stocked Gift Shop. We found the Gift Shop Team Members very friendly and helpful. We all want Friendly Helpful Team Members when visiting a Resort, or any place of Business really, and that’s exactly what you will find at Cabana Bay Resort, a “Happy Place.” We will definitely consider returning in the future.

Stayed in a family suite, Surfside building. Loved the exterior entry on the poolside! Refrigerator was very generously sized, big enough for a medium pizza box. Pull out couch was mildly comfortable, decent enough. Appreciated the “dining” area in the hotel room, big enough to have a small meal/snack. The shuttle was great to the parks, staff was super responsive, whole place was clean. Would stay again.

We loved our stay at Cabana Bay Resort. The rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The shuttle buses to universal were quick and efficient. The pools and lazy river were great. Although be prepared to buy a tube for floating on the lazy river or bring your own. The staff were pretty good, some of them were not as helpful as others and seemed like they didn't really want to be there. Otherwise it was a perfect getaway.

We loved our stay at Cabana Bay. We had a poolside room in the Americana building. It was a convenient location to the pool, diner, and the bus stop. We could easily access all of it. The diner was good, the food wasn't bad. The selection of snack and drinks were great for us because we had a 2 year old and 5 year old. We also got a refillable cup which was super worth it. Unfortunately we ran out of time and didn't even try the pool or any of its amenities - it looked great though! They even had s'more packs in the diner to use by the fire pit (love that idea). The hotel staff that we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. The gift store was incredible and since it's a Universal hotel, the prices were the same as the park. We want to go back as soon as possible!
