My husband and I stayed here in mid-March and absolutely loved our stay! We had an oceanfront room that was gorgeous and the view of blue water and palms were breathtaking. Lots of wildlife (iguanas and coatis) and birds that were new to us, which were fun to spot. We went to every restaurant and enjoyed all of our dinners so much- a nice variety of food and it's cool how each restaurant has a different theme. The lunch buffet was also delicious with a great variety of foods. The nightlife was fun, especially the magic show, which honestly blew us away! The grounds are like a fairytale jungle and it was so much fun to explore it all our first day. Their landscaping crew must be top-notch. The activities director is extremely good at his job- full of energy and excitement every time we saw him. All of the staff were so nice to us and very helpful. The pool area always had a seat in the front with a gorgeous view. We sat there most days and then went to the pool in late afternoon and were always able to find a chair. We also loved how it never felt overly crowded. We cannot wait to return!!!

If you are looking for a spring break party atmosphere, this will be a good fit. The focus of this resort is definitely the super large pool versus the beach. We have been to many AI and would say the resort grounds, rooms, and service were exceptional. The food at each themed dinner was never above a meh, and was very disappointing compared to many other resorts. There definitely is top shelf booze but the resort menu drinks including 2 so called martini bars were all off, all sugar and no booze. Even tried dirty martini a couple of times which should be all booze and the only taste was overpowering olive juice. This is a nice resort but no where near a Sandals quality. The google rating of 4.8 is surprising. By far the highlight is the phenomenal live bands. The no reservations for restaurants is not a good setup. Waits varied from none to almost 2 hours which makes planning a night very hard.

Disappointing, is the one word that I would use to sum up our week at this resort. The food was simply ok, nothing spectacular, as you would expect at a 5 star resort. Service was slow. Orders of some food items never came or came late. If you are hoping to disconnect from your phone that wont happen here. All restaurant menus require you to scan a QR code. Upon check out we asked if the shuttle to the airport was on time so we might have time to grab a coffee and a little breakfast . The receptionist simply said she had no idea. Never asked if we enjoyed our stay, have a safe trip home, nothing. It was like she was happy to us leave. There is a dress code for the restaurants, which is fine. Unfortunately I did forget my dress shoes, but had a pair of dress sandals. At the Italian restaurant, nothing was said about my footwear. At the Japanese restaurant , I was told that they did have a dress code and that the sandals were not appropriate, but was allowed to enter. At the Mexican restaurant I was denied entry and humiliated in the line up for dinner. When I asked why that policy existed. I was told that it was a safety issue and that it was to protect the guests if anything was dropped on the floor. Seeing that Ladies could wear open toed shoes. I can only surmise that they don't care about the ladies feet. I did ask to discuss this with the manager, he never reached out at all.
This was our second time going to VIM and it has declined since our first visit. Do yourself a favor and look for a different resort in the Riviera Maya.

I used to consider Valentin my favourite hotel in Mexico (and have referred many people) but after this experience, I can confidently say that this is no longer a 5 star hotel. I did not feel safe or comfortable at this hotel.
The most important part is that this hotel has counterfeit alcohol and anyone visiting should take caution with drinks. Please be careful and do not trust the bartenders when they offer you something new. We suspect one of us got methanol poisoning and concerns brought up to the hotel were met with a simple response “that does not happen here”.
I spoke with the staff multiple times about my experience, but there was no effort to improve my stay. They do not care about guest feedback.

Wonderful service. Great food especially the French restaurant. All the employees were very very friendly. The bike tour is a must. Chairs at the Golden pool are nice and quiet. A bit windy for us because couldn’t get into the ocean. Jose, Manuel, Israel and Daniel waitress by the main pool were wonderful. And Dora is great to chat with
