Firstly, I would like to thank Mr Samuel Theodorus, the hotels Guest Experience Manager for his efforts to make our birthday stay special, we both appreciated it.
Pros: Mature well kept gardens leading to the promenade, beach and a choice of alternative restaurants. Towels are provided for the pool areas and beach. Beach beds and brollies are provided for hotel guests. Nice pool areas and beds were always available during our visit. Friendly staff and a special thank you to Ayu and Ranum at the Spa for the excellent massages.
Cons: whilst very friendly, a few of the staff seemed quite immature and unaware of their surroundings. The linen in the room was often dirty and in some cases did need replacing as it is worn. We had to request a linen change and on a couple of occasions had to ask for hand towels as housekeeping removed them, but didn’t replace. The shower wasn’t very powerful and the water never very hot, we never needed to add cold to the mixer. We were also disappointed in the quality of the food.
During our stay we raised our concerns with Samuel, the Guest Experience Manager, and we felt that he sincerely listened and understood our feelings. He also assured us that the management would look at some extra staff training to overcome the issues where possible, mainly housekeeping.

I highly recommend this hotel. With beautiful thatched roofs everywhere and all the comforts you could think of.
Great hotel, beautiful gardens, easy access to the beach, nice clean swimming pools. Fantastic food. Healthy options with Balasian food also on the menu.
The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Beautiful staff, who bent over backwards to help and make my holiday excellent. They smile at me every time I walk past, which really cheered me up. Even though some of the staff could not speak English, they were all so very polite and respectful. Wearing traditional uniforms and taking pride in their appearance.
Every night there was an opportunity for entertainment and a different option for buffet, on the beach or at the stage area or in a different location in the gardens. I was very impressed by all the hard work and thought that went into the good service I received.

Only stayed here one night on our way to other island as it’s close to the ferry port. Mind you there are no lifts to access the rooms. There’s no gym here either, but swimming pools are aplenty. The breakfast buffet has decent spread with live eggs cooking and pancakes / waffle station, and the taste is passable. The beachfront location is great with direct access to white sandy beach. This resort had seen better days back then, but it is way overdue for some serious renovation and facilities upgrade. I really appreciate the friendly & helpful staff here, but to be honest would much rather find other properties that aren’t as dated.

Stayed at the hotel for 8 days. We were very satisfied! What I especially liked: 2) well-kept territory 2) chic breakfasts 3) friendly staff 4) daily cleaning, clean towels and free water. Staff were very friendly, rooms were spacious. Layout was great and we enjoyed lots of pool time with the thoughtful inclusion of floating beanbags.
Food was good. It is a little far back from the main tourist area but we really enjoyed this as it was nice and quiet and meant we could get a car to the beach or icon for approx 24k rp.
The rooms were very well cleaned and the pool and garden well maintained. It was a really nice space and was lovely to sit, relax and enjoy the pool.

If 6 stars were possible, they would deserve it. The staff is incredibly nice and they make you feel so special, this really made the difference to us. The amenities were great, loved the pool, garden and breakfast area. The rooms were good, spacious and clean. The shuttle to the beach area didn't go so often, but that was fine for us, it is a nice extra service as taxis are not too expensive either. This hotel delivers!

Our recent stay at The Alantara in Sanur was nothing short of amazing. The entire hotel is a visual masterpiece—the design is so beautiful and thoughtful that even a simple stroll around the grounds felt like a special experience. Our villa was the perfect mix of modern luxury and cozy comfort, a true home away from home. One of the highlights for us was the private pool, which our 5-year-old son absolutely loved. He spent countless hours splashing and playing, and it was a joy to see him have so much fun in such a great space. And let's talk about the food! The on-site restaurant served up some of the most delicious, mouth-watering dishes I've had. From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, the food was consistently incredible, and the cocktails were just as fantastic.
Beyond the hotel itself, we were so impressed with the beauty of Sanur. It's a wonderful, family-friendly destination with a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere. We can't wait to come back and visit again!

Absolutely a 5/5 star stay! We had the best facials and massages we’ve ever experienced, and the food and drinks at the restaurant were next level – everything was absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. A special shout-out to Pande, who went above and beyond by learning all of our names and greeting us personally every morning and evening. We truly can’t recommend this resort enough. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable and unforgettable — we can’t wait to come back!

Our family of 5 loved our stay at Alantara. We booked the 2 bedroom villa and was our second time at the hotel. The staff and facilities are fantastic. The location is off the beaten track but this suited us. They provide a 2 hourly shuttle to the main strip which is only a 5 minute drive away. Walking is 20 mins. Highly recommend.

With an entrance off a typical busy Bali road this opens into an oasis of calm with perfect gardens, clean and comfortable rooms, access directly to the beach and a good restaurant. There are some building works at the moment but these are discreet behind screens and with minimal noise. There's a main pool with plenty of sun beds and two further more private pools in the rooms courtyards. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful. The hotel opens onto the boardwalk which gives access to traffic free walk to more restaurants.

Fantastic rooms close to front pool, gym, walking track and restaurant. Pool is perfect temp if you don't like it cold. Lots of English and Aussies who loved a chat. Great kids shallow pool at front near the beach. Swim up bar too. Very friendly staff. Close to many restaurants and market stalls also Icon, the new shopping centre.

If you’re looking for a resort actually at the beach in Sanur, this is as good of a hotel as any. The rooms are nice and spacious and the team is very friendly. This hotel actually has beach loungers at the beach, unlike several other hotels along the Sanur beach.
The beach itself is best earlier in the day when the tide is high. You don’t need water shoes but I’d recommend them if you want to walk along the sea grass at low tide.
The boardwalk is always very active and great for a morning stroll. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby
The hotel could improve on service at the beach as people coming to see if you wanted anything was quite sporadic. Also the breakfast buffet is a bit sad. The egg station never disappointed but the coffee is rough and very limited offerings across the board.

I have to say the Griya Santrian in Sanur is really lovely, in a great location and have stayed several times. They are currently upgrading but does not affect anything. The negatives for me are that after arriving yesterday from another lovely 4/5 star hotel on beachfront Legian, I was not impressed firstly that they said I had to pay as I go, no room charge so not sure what’s changed. More importantly to me is how the Griya is still charging extra for barista coffee. Either you’re a class hotel or you’re lower level and have to charge your guests extra for what should be included in your breakfast. The cost was $6.60 aud for small cup. Definitely needs to be addressed.

Beautiful and calm Hotel in Sanur at the beach with beautiful garden and 3 pools. The hotel ist an older one but well maintained. The rooms are arranged on garden an pools. Clean and comfortable with enough space. Food is exzellent and the beach front restaurant offers a great view.
Staff is very gentle helpful and has always a smile for you.

I spent 2 nights here in a Santrian Club room. I did not enjoy this hotel at all. For the price, I could not believe the room. It was small, very dark, a little dank, and completely uncharming. The bathroom was functional but nothing nice.
The buffet breakfast was plentiful but was quantity over quality and the restaurant food was not great, especially for the price. I had just spent 5 nights at a cheaper hotel in another area altogether and the food there was so much better and half the price.
Whilst parts of the grounds were lovely and lush, the areas around the pools were all concrete and not inducive to laying to enjoy the sun with a book.
The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. They honestly seemed to be the only people in the whole place who were smiling.
I've definitely realised big hotels (and Sanur) are not for me, but even if they were, I can't imagine I'd be impressed with this one. Honestly, I can't understand all the good reviews.

A group of 6 stayed booking the Santrian Club. Sadly 1 couple wasn't put in the club area and we wasn't together, another couple had to move rooms after a day because there wasn't a ground floor room ready. Aside from that our room was big and clean, a bit of a musty smell but the rooms are waiting an upgrade so hopefully this will be rectified. Shower was very small so hopefully that will change with the upgrades. The location is right on the beach and close to shops, bar and restaurants. Staff were nice but wasn't that friendly. Buffet breakfast was outstanding, much choice, loved it!! Afternoon tea had the best cakes sadly the tea was often cold. We only ate in the restaurant once as the food was pricey, but nice. The resort was so clean and those maintaining the grounds were always friendly. Unfortunately one of our days there was a private event on that wasn't very private, it was to noisy to sit around the pool with the swim up bar and no sunbeds around the other pools. We asked for an airer for our bathers at the stay of our 4 day stay and never received one so we had to dry then on the chairs out the front. We never went to the spa, even with the discount it was very pricey.
If you are going to book book directly with the resort you'll get a better deal.

Our room is on the 2nd floor above Ground of Club Santrian building compound. The facility is maintained clean although it is dated. The room is spacious, but there is no elevator/lift for access, yet guests are not notified until reaching the building. We booked through their official website and there is no option of choice. That will make inconvenience to guests with limited accessibility.
Other than this, the hotel is in good location and highly accessible to the Sanua beach and the shopping street. Many good options of restaurants are around. Services is good also.

The view of the ocean was great.

We have had an amazing vacation with our stay here. First of all, the team of people that work here have made the stay so delightful. The resort itself is beautiful! It is a joy to walk around and take it all in. The interior of the rooms are a classic colonial style. My only suggestion is that for the club rooms they might need to do some updating there after so many years of service.
I can highly recommend a stay here, as we hope to come back here another time. So thank you Puri Santrian family.

We had a lovely 5 night stay at Maya Sanur, a wonderful start to our Bali trip. The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive in all areas of the hotel. Our lagoon suite was spacious, comfortable and the direct access to the lagoon pool was enjoyed everyday.
The breakfast (7-11am) was excellent, with great choice and availability at all times. We were also able to obtain breakfast boxes for an early 6am start.
We enjoyed the free yoga class with beautiful views of the beach and the complimentary afternoon tea. We also loved the private Indonesian culinary class on the garden terrace, where we made six traditional dishes with the guidance of Nanik and Krisna who were excellent hosts and very patient with 2 amateur cooks!
Special mention also to Hendra (housekeeping) whose thoughtful gestures brought a smile to all of our family.
The hotel is right on the beach and many restaurants and bars are well within walking distance.
Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Sanur.

We had such a great stay at Maya Resort! It’s truly the best resort I’ve ever visited. The place is so peaceful and quiet, with complete facilities that made everything perfect. There are also many restaurants, so we could easily choose what we wanted to eat. A big thank you to the reception staff, Oki and Kirana, and also to the handsome bellboy, Kevin! Kirana and Kevin were both super friendly and helpful during our stay. They worked so well together that I even thought they were a couple! 😄

The rooms are very small for more than 2 people, it was too small for our family of 4 (2 children 2 adults) considering the expensive cost to stay here.
The bathroom is lovely.

Views are beautiful of the beach from restaurant and pool.
Food options are not extensive and are more
on the expensive side.
Staff are very kind.
Buffet is expensive for breakfast for both adults and children. No basic foods to order al a carte for children for breakfast like toast so you either buy your own and make it (without kitchenette) or pay 17.50 for buffet. A lot of young children would not eat 17.50 worth of breakfast. Our young son ate a piece of watermelon from our plate that we had finished with and the restaurant attempted to charge us 17.50.
Turn down service can be quite late considering children are in rooms.
Kids club is great and our kids really enjoyed this.

The room was great for our family. Loved having the lagoon pool at our door.
Kids club seemed to have good activity schedule but they didn’t seem to be doing those activities but there wasn’t many kids around so maybe they just ask if the kids want to do them or not.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Our room was like a dream—spacious, beautifully equipped, and the view from our terrace was absolutely splendid. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and a special thank you goes to Leni, who made us feel right at home.
We dined at two of the hotel’s restaurants, and both served delicious food with excellent service. And of course, the pool was just perfect—peaceful, clean, and very relaxing.
We truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely be coming back!
