The best thing about this hotel is the location. I used to come every year before the pandemic. I was so excited to come here but I am disappointed. The jacuzzi in my oceanfront room is out of order. The place looks run down. The swim up bar is closed. The staff are so unfriendly with the exception of a few. It almost feels like a ghost town. It’s absolutely boring at night. There is nothing to do here. The rooms are still dated. I do love that it is right on the ocean, which is stunning. The food is also good and there are kiosks near the hotel and some restaurants along the boardwalk. The location is great but this hotel has gone down. The staff used to welcome you with a rum punch while you checked in… it felt so welcoming. Now they give you a ticket to get your free drink at the bar. Out of 3 bars, only one is open. I’m now searching for a new hotel to go to in the future. I have another 4 nights here. Hopefully, i will enjoy the remainder of my trip. Managers and staff need to step up before it’s too late. I have an emotional connection to this place. I fell in love with Barbados here, but I think it’s time for a change.

I will start with the fact that whoever has written the past reviews must have been paid to do so. We arrived after 10pm to find the oceanfront room we booked was sold out. They tried to send us to a sister hotel 10 minutes south, not even on the beach. We refused, so they put us in a room that needed to be renovated 20 years ago, overlooking the highway. The next morning, the front desk offered us free breakfast in compensation if we were willing to stay in that room for our four nights. Needless to say we left and found accommodation on the north part of the island.
As far as the property goes, the beach was full of seaweed, and not clear like in the pics. The hotel is NOT located in a good part of town. We saw only a few tourists out and about. We moved north of town near the St James area, and wow what a difference. Beach and area were gorgeous and we felt very safe. I would warn any tourists to avoid this hotel and area at all costs!

WORST HOTEL EVER! RUN! I booked this hotel for 2 nights for 3 guests. “Double bed with sofa bed with ocean views and jetted tub on balcony”
Upon our arrival at 3pm our room was not ready. We waited for one hour before the room was available. I had requested when booking the hotel that the sofa bed be made up for my daughter upon our arrival, extra blankets and pillows and a microwave which I was told that was only available upon availability.
When we got to our room, the sofa bed was not made up, there was no extra blankets and pillows, there was only 2 towels for showering (3 guests), no microwave and to top that off, there was a note on the cover of the jacuzzi that it’s out of order.
I called the receptionist and I made another request for everything that I listed above. The front desk staff Jerad promised to have it taken care of by the time we were going to be back at the hotel. We were heading to the cricket game. We came back at 12 pm only to find out that nothing was done and delivered to the room. Again, I had to call the receptionist. This was my 3rd attempt in getting the extra blanket and pillows, towels etc.
The next morning It was raining and the cover on the jacuzzi had shifted a bit with the wind. To my dismay, the jacuzzi that the hotel claimed was “out of order” actually never existed. The structure was there, however, there was no jacuzzi tub there. Instead, it was a storage for bags of cement and electrical wires as you can see in the pics I posted. I felt scammed and was very disappointed. I spoke with the manager who was nice enough. She promised to refund me through Expedia and promised to send me an email to have the refund processed. However, I was dumb to believe that she would go through with her promise because I never received her email. Instead I had to reach out to expedia to get it resolved. I still haven’t received my refund but I’m hoping Expedia see my review and they can know now that Accra hotel is selling rooms that do not exist. Do not book! They are scammers.

The staff around the bars and restaurants act like they are being inconvenienced when asked for something. I actually saw one at the beach bar get into a shouting match with a tourist. Most don't smile. Heard a few tell how much they hated their jobs. I think they forgot they work in the service industry. I was sitting at the bar one night and a hotel guest got fant and passed out. Once I saw that the employees did not pay him any attention. I am a nurse and jumped in to help. They state that they are not aloud to touch and Joseph stated that no one was cpr or AED competent. All I could say was wow. The hotel is so convenient for us. I was married at this resort, but service has gone way down hill. I have had to beg for blankets, room bath towels and even toilet paper.
