Was apprehensive after I booked after reading the reviews. Like others have said, if you're looking for faults you can find them but just go and enjoy yourself. Travelled with our 11 year old and we all had a great time. Hotel catered for all our needs. Always found plenty to eat (and drink). Good indoor spa for the dull days. Shuttle bus to take you to the splash park down the hill. Hotel shop reasonably priced. Animation team were great. Loved visiting the turtles and the lovebirds in the hotel every day.
I don't normally like going to the same hotels but can definitely see us coming back here

This is a huge, very unusual hotel. It's like something in Vegas. The staff were all very friendly.
We decided not to go All Inclusive and are glad that was our decision. On our last night I broke a toe so we were forced to eat at the hotel. It is buffet style as a lot of all inclusive are. The only bit of food that I enjoyed was the Santiago cake. The rest of the food that I tried was dreadful. And the red wine was ice cold and absolutely horrific. We have enjoyed lots of gorgeous reds during our stay. Some cost as little as €3 a bottle, so I can only imagine how cheap the hotel wine is.

Reading the reviews from recent reviewers I was a little concerned before our trip to the hotel Polynesia but our experience was very positive. We were a family of 8 with a 5 and a 1 year old and we had an amazing week. The rooms were spacious and clean with a very comfy bed a good shower and powerful hairdryer. The food was fine with plenty of choice. There is a microwave in the restaurant you can use if needed. I can't praise the animation team enough as they worked hard every day to entertain everyone. Plenty of activities throughout the day that you can get involved in if you wish. The marina is worth a visit. There are buses but we had taxis and it was only €13 each way. We went on the pirate boat for an hour cruise and on a smaller boat which we hired to go and see the dolphins. The water park was fun and you can easily spend the day there as your wrist band allows you to eat and drink there as well as in the other hotels on the complex. There is a shuttle bus down to the water park but its not far to walk. Just be aware that you will have to pay a €25 deposit for each band on arrival at the hotel that you get back when you return them when you leave. The restaurant staff are very efficient and engaging and if they know you have a birthday they bring a cake with candles and sing happy birthday which was a nice touch. Overall it was a great week.

I stayed at Holiday World Polynesia from November 1st to 8th, 2024, and it was, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences of my life. After saving for months to afford this all-inclusive vacation, I was met with a series of issues and humiliations that completely ruined my stay.
1. Unacceptable behavior from security staff
On November 7th at 12:18 AM, I went to the bar to get a glass of water from the fountain provided for guests. Out of nowhere, a security guard approached me aggressively, yelling at me to leave as if I were a criminal. This humiliating and disrespectful treatment occurred in front of other guests, leaving me shocked and ashamed. I have never been treated with such hostility in any hotel, especially not one that claims to be 4 stars. This incident destroyed any sense of comfort or trust I might have had in this establishment.
2. Neglected and filthy rooms
My room was infested with ants, and the bed sheets were not changed even once during my entire stay. The level of hygiene was appalling. On top of that, the key to my room only worked about 10% of the time, forcing me to make three trips to reception on multiple occasions. Despite this, the receptionist refused to accompany me to check or resolve the issue, showing a complete lack of care or professionalism. This disregard for guests’ basic needs is unacceptable.
3. Misleading services and false promises
I specifically paid extra for a room with a lateral sea view, only to be given a room overlooking the parking lot. This blatant misrepresentation of services demonstrates the hotel’s lack of respect for its paying customers.
4. Poor overall management
The staff, from reception to security, treated guests with condescension and disdain. Simple issues that should have been resolved quickly were ignored, leaving me feeling abandoned and disrespected. The hotel makes no effort to provide a welcoming or comfortable experience for its guests.
This was supposed to be my first all-inclusive vacation, but it turned out to be an absolute disaster. Instead of feeling relaxed and refreshed, I left humiliated, stressed, and regretful of ever trusting this hotel. If you value your time, money, and dignity, avoid Holiday World Polynesia at all costs. This establishment is a disgrace to the hospitality industry, and it does not deserve to call itself 4 stars.

I visited the Polynesia hotel for 4 days in November. It was nothing short of amazing. The staff were fantastic, kind and helpful. The food was REALLY good. The room was large and very clean and the hotel is really nice. 25 mins taxi and €25 from Malaga. I'd not suggest walking from the train station, it's all uphill. The hotel is 2-3km walk along the beach into town. It could do with a tiny refresh but by no means is it run down. I will come again without hesitation.
