We chose to stay at Impression Moxché for our honeymoon, and it was the best decision we could have made. Our butlers, Francisco and Sergio, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. No request was too big or small—they anticipated our every need and made sure we felt completely taken care of.
Every single staff member we encountered, from the wait staff to the pool attendants, was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive. The level of service at Impressions is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before—it truly set the standard for luxury hospitality.
Our room was stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a private sanctuary. The dining options were exceptional, with every meal exceeding our expectations. Even the non-premium options on the Secrets side were fantastic, showcasing the resort's commitment to quality.
One highlight was dinner at the signature restaurant, Teodoro, which delivered a dining experience on par with a Michelin-starred establishment. The creativity, flavors, service, and presentation of each dish left us in awe.
Thank you, Impression Moxché, for making our honeymoon a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We’ll cherish the memories forever and can’t wait to return someday!

This was our honeymoon stay in May 2024. Unfortunately I have to say, this is nowhere near a 5* resort. It’s ran really cheaply and almost seems like a place that is struggling to stay open.
- Every night there are 1-3 restaurants closed.
- There was no air conditioning in the restaurants. I don’t know if they wait until dinner seating to turn it on, but it was a minimum 80 degrees inside at each restaurant. All people inside were fanning themselves.
- The restaurants have a dress code or you have to sit outside. The problem is exponentially bad due to the no air conditioning as mentioned above.
- Food is a solid B. Nothing too special but nothing fantastic EXCEPT for the rooftop bar on the Impression side. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet and had good service there.
- Bars are pretty basic. Probably fine for a lot of people but many didn’t even have a cocktail list. You need to ask for upgraded spirits (which are promoted as included.)
- Timeshare sales: they try to get you hooked into this many times. Especially just after check in.
- Service is generally pretty average and inconsistent. Language barrier makes it a bit difficult at times, but there is also just a lack of follow through or urgency. Especially if there is an issue.
- Butler service is very hit or miss. We had some good ones but even they “forgot” or missed simple requests for water. They did do a great job on a couple of things: late checkout request and getting us another room to change and drawing a bath for us one night - unfortunately something happened with the drain and it was empty when we got back to the room 🤭
- Beautiful views and facility. It is a lot of concrete and a fair amount of walking.
- Rooms were very nice and spacious. Several have had issues with various things but we didn’t experience anything except the air conditioning thermostat stopped working. Our butler got this fixed for us at dinner.
- Teodoro was a great dinning experience. I would say the ambience is a bit lacking but it had a nice view. Excellent and inventive food and wine pairings. Air conditioning was best of the dining options for the week but was still a touch warm however much more bearable.
- Pool concierge did a phenomenal job. We basically camped out at the Impressions rooftop the entire week.
- Bar service at the rooftop was frequent but we had some language barrier issues here too.
- There is a fairly high amount of tip pressure here. We are good tippers but service just didn’t seem to live up to a 5 star resort.
Amazing views. However you should know that people do not come to Playa del Carmen for the beach. They aren’t great and seaweed is an issue. That said this resort makes that a non issue due to all the different pools.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at Impression Moxche in late January 2025. Our experience was nothing short of amazing! This resort is the perfect place for couples looking for a get-away where you have everything you could need and want. Every member of the staff was friendly and very helpful, almost always ending with "it's my pleasure."
Our butlers, Javier and Alexis, did a great job to ensure that we were well taken care of throughout the day, often checking in at multiple times to see if there was anything we needed. This is the first time we've had butler service on a vacation, but given that we are largely self-sufficient, we didn't need to call on them too often. However, their daily morning texts through WhatsApp with the activities and food options for the day were extremely helpful and a good way for us to plan our day. It was always nice to know they were there if we needed them and they were quick to respond.
Paulina at the main Impression pool was fantastic and made sure we were never without drinks, our favorites being frozen espresso martinis and guava margaritas. She was always smiling and happy to get us whatever we requested. We can't thank her enough for the service she provided while we sat in the warmer portion of the pool overlooking the sea for hours at a time. We spent our last afternoon at this pool given it was our favorite location due to the view, temp of the pool, and service from Paulina.
Our included dinner at Teodoro was one of the best we've ever had and we highly recommend it. We are talking Top Chef gourmet type food with service to match. I believe our servers name was Alexander and he was top notch. Every one of the seven dishes of the tasting menu was explained in great detail and had amazing flavor. This was not your normal dinner....it was definitely an experience and they treat it that way. If you don't enjoy fine dining at the highest level, then stick with one of the many other restaurants at the resort, all of which offered wonderful menus of great tasting food. Don't miss Allora for Italian food and make sure you order the truffle pizza, free to Impression guests (normally $80 to others). It was absolutely delicious. If you do attend the standard sit-down restaurants for dinner, try to get there around 6pm or slightly before as it does not take long until you will need to wait up to 45 min to an hour for a table, and reservations are not accepted.
We spent one afternoon at the spa, which was gorgeous and well-equipped. While more expensive than we're used to (but not out-of-line for resort spas), if you book an 80-minute treatment (or combination of treatments equal/more than 80 min), you can utilize their hydrotherapy area, which includes a sauna, steam room, hot tub, cold plunge pool, and larger heated pool with several other water massage options. We arrived at noon and enjoyed the hydrotherapy section for two hours before our treatments started at 2pm. Both my wife and I greatly enjoyed our massages. Overall, it was a very relaxing experience and was a nice break from the pools and alcohol for the afternoon.
Finally, we want to give a shout-out to Jazmin and Axel with the entertainment team. Although they tried to get us to become involved in activities at the resort, our only objective was to relax, eat, and drink. They didn't push us hard and were fun to banter back-and-forth with. They left us with a dreamcatcher on our cabana bed on our last day as a gift for our stay at the resort.
I could go on-and-on about everything we loved about this resort, but it's covered in a lot of other reviews. While there were a few items that didn't quite meet our expectations (not even worth mentioning), the resort itself is well worth the cost we paid and we would certainly return in the future for this type of vacation. Unless you are extremely picky and need the most luxurious accommodations possible, I expect you will find this resort to be well worth the visit.
Thank you to all the staff who made our get-away a truly memorable experience!!!

Exceptional service. Definitely recommend staying on the Impressions side—food was fantastic. Took a 15 minute taxi into downtown Playa Del Carmen, and highly recommend if you are looking for a bit of culture. Really enjoyed all the shops and restaurants on Fifth Avenue. The hotel set up the taxi and was there within minutes. Very convenient and only $40 US there and back.
Luxury through and through at Impressions; they really know how to pamper you.

This was our second time staying at Impression Moxche with our friends.
Thank you to all the staff for an amazing vacation again!
The entertainment, service, food, and drinks were great and the ambiance is absolutely beautiful!
Rafael, our butler, and his team were all incredible!
We definitely will be back!
Here are a few pictures of some staff that I would like to share.
