Great Stay at Princess Yucatan
We recently enjoyed a stay at Princess Yucatan in Playa del Carmen and had a wonderful time overall. The room size was impressive, providing us with plenty of space to relax. The beautifully maintained territory and easy access to the beach were highlights of our trip. We also thoroughly enjoyed the performances, shows, and live bands throughout our stay, which added a vibrant atmosphere to the resort.
A special shoutout to Israel from the staff, who made our experience even more memorable with his humor and friendly demeanor. He even made us laugh by remembering my surname, which was a delightful personal touch. The overall service from the staff was outstanding—everyone was incredibly friendly and polite.
We did have a few minor critiques. While the food was decent, we felt it could have been better, as some meals didn’t quite meet our expectations. We also weren’t aware of the dress code for the restaurants and regretted not bringing trousers instead of just denim shorts. This is something future guests should keep in mind.
On a lighter note, we loved the local wildlife, particularly the friendly lizards and the adorable Mexican raccoons! It added a unique charm to our stay.
The rooms were a bit outdated, but they were comfortable and well-kept. We particularly appreciated being placed in a quiet block of the resort, which allowed us to relax peacefully.
Overall, we had a nice time at Princess Yucatan and would recommend it for anyone looking for a friendly and enjoyable vacation in Playa del Carmen!

This resort is great, hands down. The price is fantastic for what you get. The rooms could certainly use a refurbishment, but they are fine. The 24 hour bar is Great, and the staff there is amazing. Food isn't 5 stars but it's fine for the price. So many reviews focus on the negative, and there are some things they could do better, but having been to all inclusive resorts across Mexico this one is great. Bring a humidity reduction bag for the rooms, to help keep the moisture away. Bring some snacks, as you'll always want something late, and not always what's available 24 hours. Get a swim out room, and bring floaties.

I will give both the good and bad in my opinion.
Bad: None of the pools are heated. So if you get the swim out during the off season it may not be as enjoyable as you expect. (2) The property is not beach front and you have to walk over a short bridge through a mangrove to even see the beach. (3) The location is not in Playa Del Carmen. Playa del Carmen downtown or to the ferry to get to Cozumel is a $27 cab ride. The hotel does have a $4 shuttle but it only goes to downtown not the ferry and run very sporadically. For example the shuttle leaves the hotel only a 9am 12pm and 4pm. That’s it! (4) The room temperature is stuck at 22 degrees Celsius and you can not lower it. For a woman of a certain age this should’ve been my #1 reason because I was hot at night. Also if you are sensitive to noise you can hear a humming from the pool pump in the swim out room. (5) No full length mirror in the room.
Good: The room was big and very spacious.(2) The bed was super comfy (3) The staff was very friendly (4) The dinner options are good (breakfast and lunch ehhh).

Resort is well maintained. Staff is friendly. Food was okay but not the best however be sure to check out the snack bar by the beach serving fresh chicken wings and burgers. I was however disappointed by the beach. They clear out the seaweeds every morning but it’s almost impossible to go for a swim in the water due to the stones/rocks underneath. You’re better off cooling off by the family friendly section. Shuttle service is available for $5USD, if you’d like to visit downtown Playa Del Carmen. Overall, a great getaway and I had wonderful time at this resort.

We stayed here for a New Years/ birthday trip in early 2024. The food was an 8/10, with the fruit being bland at times, and the steak at the steakhouse not being the best, however all other foods/ restaurants were pretty good- well seasoned, beautifully presented, and moderate portions.
local wildlife was interactive but not aggressive. The works mostly seemed to be generous, always willing to help, but at times we found the main swim bar to be lacking.
Nightly entertainment was always a hit, with Grease being a favorite. Drinks were good, you can request less mixer for less sweetened drinks. The nightclub was great,. but the 24 hour outdoor bar stole the show. It was a melting pot of cultures, language, conversations, all relaxed and/or joy filled. We met some nice vacay friends in similar age groups and hung out with older crowds also. All in all a great vacay, we will come back
