Room: Everything was great except for the room phone, which didn’t work. However, they do have a smart TV!
Service: Outstanding service with 24-hour buggy rides and affordable room service.
Location: The location is excellent—peaceful and right next to the beach. However, the parking area could be better.
Overall, this place is amazing! I would definitely come back if I get the chance

Disappointing Service at a Supposed “5-Star” Hotel, More Like a 3-4 Star
Our recent stay at Mai Khao Lak left us quite disappointed due to untrained staff whose service did not meet the expectations of a 5-star hotel. While the infrastructure and rooms are great, the service was consistently lacking. Here are some key points from our experience:
1. Inconsistent Room Supplies: Each time our room was cleaned, the housekeeping staff failed to restock basic necessities like toilet paper. We had to request more almost daily, which is unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be 5-star.
2. Card Incident and Rude Management: On Friday, our card got stuck in the ATM located at the hotel reception. We were assured they would contact the bank and resolve the issue soon, and that we would have the card back by Monday. However, by Tuesday at check-out, the card had still not been retrieved. The manager was not only unhelpful but also rude, telling us we should contact the bank ourselves. For a hotel of this caliber, better support should be provided, especially when the issue is due to their equipment. To make matters worse, since our transfer was scheduled for 4 pm and check-out was at 11 am, I asked if we could retain our all-inclusive wristbands as we were left without a payment method. The manager refused, stating it was against the rules, without any empathy for our situation.
3. Disruptive Housekeeping: On our second day, we wanted to sleep in and did not place the “clean the room” sign on the door. We were abruptly woken up at 9 am by a staff member shouting, “MORNING, MORNING, I NEED TO CLEAN THE ROOM!” This level of intrusion is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one rated 5 stars.
4. Limited Dining Options: Returning from an excursion, which most often ends after 9 pm, we were shocked to find that we could not order anything to eat, not even snacks. I was hungry, and being pregnant, needed to eat. The lack of food options after 9 pm is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel, which should provide options for guests arriving late.
5. Beach: The view is beautiful, but there is no staff available to help carry chairs, and it would be nice to have some level of service at the beach as well. This was disappointing.
Overall, most of the staff were very friendly, but there is a significant lack of training. It was common to see four or five staff members standing around looking lost and waiting for orders.
We had planned this trip well in advance and expected true 5-star service. This hotel falls short of that standard, and I would rate it 3.5 stars compared to true 5-star hotels around the world.

We stayed here in November, and it's honestly one of the best hotels I've stayed in.
The staff here could not do enough for you. They all go above and beyond, and nothing is too much trouble and always with a smile.
The breakfast was amazing. Even if you are a fussy eater(like my other half), there will definitely be something to fill you up for the day. They even have a children's area with lower stations so they can help themselves, which I thought was great.
We were in the adults only area, which was at the top end of the hotel and a bit of a walk to reception and beachs, but you just called reception from the hotel room, and they came straight away and pick you up in a buggy to take you to the beach or pools etc.
Now the beach... WOW. .. the sunsets !!
There are two beach bars to the right, as you come out of the hotel, and both offer amazing food and drinks, and are no more expensive than in the town.
We flew with Turkish Airlines, and it was a stop over flight, but that's another story :(.
I would recommend, if you are going to Thailand, get a direct flight. That is our only regret about the holiday.
I could honestly go on and on about this hotel and khoa lak. We loved it.
One last thing, you must do the Phi Phi Islands , just breathtaking. And the tsunami museum, which was free to walk around.
Very sad indeed, but brings to light the extremities of this devastating disaster.

Loved this hotel and spa. It's so close to the beach, that is beautiful. The locals working on the beach can arrange day trips. Offer clothes washing, hair braiding, shops, sweets restaurants with toys for the kids. The hotel staff were lovely, nothing was too much for them, very friendly tgey made little elephans and wrote happy birthdayon the bed for my sister which was lovely, a short tuktuk to the night markets or tsunami museum, the pools and outside areas are always being cleaned and maintained. The drinks at happy hour can be slow, but that's expected. They have a little cart to help crossing the resort which Chon a lovely worker did for my grandma, he was so kind and patient with her as she is pretty slow on her feet. The food here is lovely and they do take out or room service. I got a massage which was included. I felt like I could do to sleep and do cartwheels at the same time. She was magic. They have slides in the pools and also put on water polo which our competitive family got involved in. Would definitely recommend

Stayed two nights in this great resort, very kids friendly with kids pool and play area, even their own low bench breakfast buffet. The restaurant manager (sorry didn’t take down his name) is very efficient and training his staff including Overseas trainees in great details.
