This was my second time staying. I stayed there about 15 years ago. And the service level remains the same. Their service is excellent, the rooms show a little wear and tear but it is understandable. Everything is perfect here. We also took the Amazon trip organized by the hotel and this is so much fun and I highly recommend to take this excursion.

Wow. What I experienced at The Sarojin left me deeply impressed. I've traveled a lot and seen a lot, but what I experienced here is in the top 1% of what I've experienced so far. The staff are absolutely top-notch and very friendly. I have spoken to many of them and many have worked at this hotel for years, which speaks for the great culture on site. The hotel has a very eventful history behind it. There is a book available at the front office where you can read the whole story. I also bought the book as the story really touched me. And what I was most pleased about was that I was able to meet the owner couple on site and talk to them. A big compliment to Kate and Andrew - what you have created here is first class. Back to the hotel itself - the grounds are beautiful. Both inside the hotel and on the beach. The rooms are superbly furnished and very quiet - you sleep like an angel. The breakfast is delicious and is served in a very nice restaurant by a pond with water lilies. The restaurant and bar are also great. In short - a unique experience. Congratulations to the whole team. What you do here is absolutely sensational. Very well done. Keep it up and a big THANK YOU. Sincerely Fabian

Disappointing Luxury - Cut Our Holiday Short We booked The Sarojin based on glowing recommendations and expected a premium experience, especially after enjoying stays at Anantara and Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay. Unfortunately, The Sarojin fell drastically short, despite charging comparable rates. Our villa revealed significant issues: - Poor Craftsmanship: Noticeable defects and cheap, damaged furniture (think Ikea quality). - Worn Fixtures: Scratched mirrors, dirty floors, scuffed carpets and stained tiles. - Generic Atmosphere: Lacked the luxurious, unique feel expected; more like a standard chain resort. - Restrictive Minibar: Being told only one milk carton per day and one bath bomb were complimentary in a supposed luxury villa was shockingly cheap. The hotel's facilities were equally underwhelming: - Overcrowded Beach: Far from the serene images online, the beach was packed with sun loungers, making it difficult to even reach the water. - No Tranquility: The proximity to a busy neighbouring resort created a noisy, crowded atmosphere, the opposite of the peaceful retreat promised. Management, while polite, didn't address our concerns effectively. They offered no alternative villa and only reluctantly agreed to a 50% refund when we decided to leave. We were also in direct contact with the Founder, Andrew Kemp, who seemed fairly dismissive, pointing to the glowing online reviews and saying that perhaps the hotel isn’t our ‘vibe’. At nearly £800 per night, The Sarojin failed to deliver a 5-star experience. Sadly, we ultimately chose to end our holiday five days early and fly home. Avoid if you seek true luxury and tranquility.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel! The amenities were top-notch, with spacious rooms and our own private pool that was perfect for relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and always eager to help, making the experience even more enjoyable. A special highlight was the all-day à la carte breakfast, complete with sparkling wine—it was such a treat! We also loved the Thai cooking class at the hotel, which added a unique and fun touch to our stay.

Our positive experience with the Sarojin began from the moment we were greeted at the airport by Kareem, our driver. We were given an information sheet on how to log into the Wi-Fi in the car, offered fresh drinks and snacks, and were given an information welcome letter. On arrival, we were given a welcome drink and cold towel. The lobby and garden/central pond and lawn area is even more beautiful than the photos. We reserved a Jacuzzi suite, and it was so tranquil that we never heard, nor saw, another guest from our room. We had read many reviews about guests who ate only the breakfast here and then took meals elsewhere along the beach restaurants to save money. We thought we might do the same, but after having that wonderful meal experience, our first night, we did not feel it was in our best interest to venture elsewhere. The quality of the food is superb, the presentation absolutely beautiful, and the prices are fair. The breakfast the next day was everything that people raved about in other reviews. Unlike all the other local restaurants, you have access to a top quality chef (or chefs) at this resort. All the wait staff were pleasant and alert to our needs. We did the Thai dinner experience with entertainment at the restaurant by the beach. At first, we weren’t going to do it, but when we saw how elaborate the set-up was with so many different food stations, we changed our minds. It was well worth it! The beach and particularly the water is outstanding. There are a few pieces of rocks/coral to navigate as you walk into the water, but otherwise the water is clear. The Apple Watch showed the temperature ranging from 84 to 87° in January during our stay. We took advantage of the paddle boards and the Hobie cat. The watersports staff was so kind and helpful. They are also the ones to bring you fresh water and sometimes watermelon while you’re lounging on the beach. Plenty of lounge chairs and no need to get out there early. The entire staff, in fact, acts like they are so happy to have you here. The landscaping crew works hard all day doing a very difficult job taming this jungle into a sanctuary, but they always have a smile when you pass. It is noted that they do not use loud landscaping tools, which very much lends to the tranquil environment. It’s very sweet that the housekeeping staff takes the time to make little decorations for your pillow out of plant fronds, and they do a very nice job of tidying the room. My husband and I both took advantage of the spa and, all I could say is that every other spa experience tries to mimic the natural beauty and sounds of this spa, but it is real! Tropical bird sounds, running water, lush greenery, tea service, essential oils, and the most gracious attendants. Finally, and we cannot emphasize this enough, the care of the staff at the Sarojin is of the highest caliber. Our experience was unique, but I would like to share it. My husband had a medical emergency, and by the time we made it to the lobby, they had a car waiting for us and a wonderful staff member, Nee, with copies of our passport in hand, ready to accompany us to the medical facility. She helped to reassure us by being able to communicate clearly and directly with the medical staff. This emergency warranted two repeat trips and she showed up and did the same during her days off. That service is something you can not put a price on, and it was done from the heart and with the utmost of care and professionalism. Nee gave us her WhatsApp contact info and continued to check in and communicate with us throughout our stay. We have been fortunate to travel to beach resorts all over the globe (we love being in the natural water, hence no mention of the beautiful pool at the resort in our comments) and this now tops our list of destinations. We are hoping to be back some day in the future, but will hold our stay in our memory bank as one of the best experiences of our lifetime.
