This is the third year I have taken a group of 15-20 teenagers on a school trip to NYC for a week, and we have always stayed here. The hotel itself is gorgeous - spacious rooms (for NYC!! this is a biggie!) with amazing accommodations. The staff is beyond courteous and helpful, and we have never wanted for anything. The location is perfect for a week in NYC - close to just about everything you want to do - and it has a metro stop literally next door! We couldn't ask for more. I would return here with or without a group of students - it is such a good hotel!

Terrible Customer Service – Won’t Accommodate Early Check-In!
I had a horrible experience with this hotel! After a long trip, I arrived a couple of hours before check-in and politely asked if I could check in early. Instead of being helpful, the front desk staff rudely told me I had to wait until the official check-in time—no exceptions! The lobby wasn’t even busy, and I could see that rooms were ready, but they still refused.
For a place that claims to care about guests, they sure don’t act like it. Other hotels I’ve stayed at have always been accommodating when possible, but not this one. Instead, I was forced to sit around and waste time. Terrible customer service, unfriendly staff, and zero flexibility. I will never stay here again, and I don’t recommend it to anyone who expects even basic hospitality!
They also said if I want to check in early I need to pay $80 to check in 2 hours earlier
Si they do have a rooom they just don’t care about their guests
It sounds ridiculous to me to pay for 2 hours half of a nightly rate
Also beds are super tiny

I'm a long-time Diamond member and stayed over Christmas. For as busy as this hotel was, the service by the staff was always good. Whether the folks near the front entrance, the front desk, restaurant or housekeeping - everyone was very nice and service was great.
We stayed in a Junior suite and it was just OK. The room is smaller, being an older NYC hotel, so sort of expected that. However, it seemed based on the room selection map from the app that the Jr. Suites mostly (if not all) have a view of walls of the building (see attached). I noticed other posts commenting on obstructed views due to ongoing construction, but this wasn't that issue, as you can see. So it was disappointing to have a smaller room that was dark and did not have a view for the price that we paid.
The room was also next to the elevator shaft and when it was quiet at night, you could hear noises from the elevator equipment and often could hear noises outside of the windows in the center of the building.
The room was clean but could use some minor repairs - there are not a lot of power outlets near the desk and the one provided on the desk was only partially working. Bathroom is small for a junior suite and would be similar to ones found in a Hampton Inn.
Unless the place was offering a good/better rate, I'd likely stay elsewhere on my next trip to NYC.

This was the perfect room/location/price for family trip to NYC. The hotel location was conveniently located above a subway station with an entrance a few steps away from the door. The room was very clean and the daily service we received from housekeeping was very thorough. The staff was very friendly and hotel was very safe as there were staff members checking for hotel keys before anyone could enter the hotel room access area. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again if we return to the area.
ok
Great location, but my king room window view was blocked and the first thing we went in the room smelled foul and there was piss in the toilet. After we asked to get a new room, the second room smelled like cigarettes, the staff didn’t knock on the door when we were sleeping and decided to come in and we valued our privacy during the stay. The room didn’t have a microwave or a fridge, the bed was uncomfortable and had way too many layers. The tv was only cable, For the price we paid it was not worth it at all and they charge you even more after you check in. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
