We recently stayed at the Novotel Kata Avista Resort for a holiday and had such an incredible experience. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff are incredibly caring - each day they check in and ensured we had enough bathroom amenities and water. Our package included the buffet breakfast every morning which was such a great way to start the day. It had a wide variety of foods from all different cultures, my personal favourites being the wide variety of different sweet and savoury breads as well as the delicious fresh fruit. It has to be the best buffet I have ever been to as the selection is so wide to choose from - including a juice bar. If you enjoy cooking, an additional experience we decided to book was a private cooking class with one of the head chefs at the hotel Naveen who was absolutely incredible. He was very patient when teaching us how to cut foods in various methods and it was nice talking to him about how he has been cooking since the age of 8 - you could tell how passionate he was. The only thing I must mention, despite the hotel being in a beautiful location very close to kata beach and local shops and markets it is situated up a very steep hill which is very slippery when wet which makes it hard for those with mobility issues. In saying this, there were always taxis and tuk tuks close by or waiting at reception that could take you down the hill but they all charged 200THB for the 30 second trip. There is also a free shuttle bus provided from the hotel that takes you to Kata beach that leaves every 30 minutes. Thank you to each and every staff member at the resort, you made our trip so memorable! We miss you already ❤️🌴🌺

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon, and we had an amazing time. The resort itself looks gorgeous, the food was delicious and the staff just made it even better. Our room was light and airy, and the housekeeping team really did a great job every day. It was so nice to be able to come back to our room every day and to see that the staff here really were taking pride in the job they're doing. Every single staff member that we came across at all was friendly, polite and helpful. Thankyou especially to Lai, Cartoon, Guitar, Cherry, Gun and Russ, who all helped make our dining experience so much better, both at the Zing bar and in the dining room, with the way that they clearly remembered us, and conversations we'd had with them. 100% would choose to come here again on another holiday, and definitely would be keen to recommend this place to others. My husband and I stayed at the Novotel Hotel for 8 days, and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. The hotel itself is wonderful, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, kind, and polite.The chefs in the kitchen were amazing especially Naveen, who always greeted us with a warm smile and made the best omelettes every morning. He was so kind and attentive, always making sure we were happy with our meals. Another wonderful staff member was Apple. On our first day, we were really tired and hungry after arriving, and Apple approached us so kindly. She invited us to sit down, offered us drinks, and recommended some of the best dishes to try. We truly enjoyed that meal, and her service made us feel very welcome. On 8/10/25, we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, and when I mentioned it to Naveen, he went into the kitchen and surprised us with a beautifully decorated cake. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our day even more special. The reception manager and all the reception staff were excellent as well, always polite and helpful. The porters were great, and the housekeeping staff did an outstanding job—our room was always spotless and smelled fresh every time we returned. I would highly recommend Novotel Hotel to all my family and friends for their future holidays in Phuket. Thank you to all the amazing staff for making our stay so memorable! We will come again this time with our boys and stay in Novatal hotel

⭐️ 3.5 / 10 — Disappointing Stay at Novotel Kata, Phuket The following review encompasses both Novatel at kata beach and the area in which it exists. I usually enjoy staying at Accor hotels, but this particular Novotel didn’t live up to expectations. Breakfast: The breakfast options were average and didn’t change much from day to day. If you choose to sit outdoors, beware of the Indian myna birds that freely poop on seats & help themselves to unattended food. Staff make little effort to discourage them. Indoors, the background music is unnecessarily loud and makes it hard to have a quiet conversation. Another issue is the number of unsupervised children wandering/ running around the buffet area, sampling food and getting in the way…..with no staff intervention, unfortunately! Location: The hotel is built on a steep hill - the one road access is est to be 45 degree slope…..which makes access near impossible. There’s only one narrow road up and one down — not ideal for families, older guests, or anyone with mobility issues. Transfers & Transport: The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the bottom of the hill every 30 minutes, which helps. But if you miss it or want to go elsewhere, you’ll need to pay inflated taxi prices — 200 baht (each way)even for very short trips (e.g., just to the nearby 7-Eleven). There are no metered taxis in the area. Noise: On some evenings , particularly Tuesday, the hotel hosts events with live music that can be quite loud, even in the rooms. Sleeping through it is difficult, and there’s little the guests can do except tolerate the noise. Overall: While the staff are generally polite and the shuttle is useful, the overall experience felt more frustrating than relaxing. With better attention to guest comfort, noise control, and breakfast management, this hotel could be much better — but as it stands, I wouldn’t rate it higher than 3.5/10.

We had a wonderful stay at the Novotel Kata Avista Resort in Phuket. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful scenery – the entrance with its koi fish pond at reception set such a welcoming and tranquil tone. The staff were warm, super friendly, and always ready to help, which really made our stay extra special. The restaurant and breakfast buffet were outstanding, offering a fantastic variety of both Thai and international cuisine to suit every taste. The cocktails were another highlight – hands down the best we’ve had in Thailand! We especially recommend enjoying them at the Canopy Bar, where the atmosphere makes them taste even better. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The only small downside was that the walls and doors were not very soundproof, so we occasionally heard noise from other guests. It’s also worth noting that the resort is set on a hill, which gives it a nice elevated feel, but it does mean you’ll need to be prepared for a steep walk or take a quick taxi ride if you’re heading out to explore. For families, the kids club is a real gem. It’s run by professional and friendly Thai ladies who made our daughter feel so welcome – she absolutely loved her time there. The pool was another big hit, with plenty of space to relax and a fantastic swim-up bar for adults to enjoy. Overall, this resort has so much to offer and gave us a truly memorable holiday experience. Highly recommended for couples and families alike!
