This was the most perfect experience. We had an amazing hostess named Lisa who was very attentive and friendly. The food was great. The room was perfect. The activity was wonderful. We enjoyed snorkelling and had the best massages in the spa. One of the highlights was definitely getting our scuba diving course. It was adventurous and terrifying. We were so fortunate to have Sarah as our instructor. She was so supportive and compassionate. Thanks for the amazing honeymoon.

It has taken several weeks for me to write this review as I felt I needed some distance from the experience to write a more measured review. We booked a Sun Nest Beach Pool Villa on the Lobi Plan. This plan was all inclusive and offered one excursion per day. Our room was beautiful, opening to a small pool that led directly to what always seemed to be our own private white sand beach. The staff at the restaurant for all meals were welcoming and joyful, especially Elin, making meals delightful. Upon check in you are greeted by your personal island host who will be your point person throughout your stay, ours was Mechelle. Once everything was settled we asked to book the sunset cruise for that evening and were told it was already overbooked, the snorkeling trip to the reef was already gone for the day. This was explicitly confirmed by her supervisor Alex. Disappointed, we asked to be updated about any changes that might make the sunset cruise a possibility. We were then informed by Alex that all activities were cancelled for the next three days! The following morning we again persisted as to what activities we could participate in that day and were offered a “sunset cruise” at 3:00PM, certainly not sunset. Before the “sunset cruise” we stopped by the underwater restaurant and asked to see it to consider having dinner there that evening. We were told we were not allowed into the restaurant unless we already had a paid reservation. While sitting by the bar waiting for the cruise to start six people returned from a snorkeling excursion. When we boarded the boat for the 3:00PM cruise there was another gay couple on the boat and two other people. Upon return we went to our room to watch the sunset and were able to see the sunset fishing cruise-- out on the water! None of these activities were offered to us and as a matter of fact our repeated requests were not even responded to by Mechelle. On our third afternoon we were greeted by the property manager, Naseu, a very warm, generous gentleman. We told him our frustration with our stay and further dissatisfaction that nothing was offered as compensation, or even a spa treatment instead of an activity. Naseu appeared genuinely confused and concerned. He left and returned several minutes later having booked us on that evening’s sunset cruise which was obviously scheduled and not overbooked, and a snorkeling excursion the following morning before our flight home. We had again asked Mechelle that morning if there were any activities we could participate in and our request was unanswered. You decide, was this behavior anti-gay? Or maybe go directly to Naseu when you check in. Either way this a distant and costly journey that should have been only perfect.

This is simply heaven. 15 to 20 minutes away by boat from the airport.. You're greeted upon arrival as if you're the only guest they have.. The staff on the property will make you feel like you're the absolute center of attention.
The toilet fixtures are a bit rusty and need to be changed to better quality fixtures but that wouldn't change my mind about the place. It is absolutely gorgeous.
The restaurant has enough food variety every meal and every day that you won't really get bored.. And the food is delicious.
The house reef is healthy and it is thriving.
Big thanks to Mega for making our stay super special.

This resort, the staff and the food would be difficult to beat. It's nickname "love island " is extremely fitting. It's designed for couples, but no kids are allowed. However, it's sister resort just over the walkable bridge, does allow kids.
When you stay at Lobigili, you can go to the other resort and experience their amenities as well, which was great for us. Since the other island had pool tables, Foosball and live music at night for dancing, it was a great combo for us.
This resort is all inclusive, which we greatly appreciated after our previous week at another resort in the Maldives that charged us for everything.
To top off the entire stay, Chef Ajay is absolutely phenomenal. As someone who has Celiac and eats a vegan diet, my food choices are typically very limited. I don't expect people to cater to me and make do with what I can find when traveling. But this experience was completely different and unexpected. He and his staff created dishes specifically for me and kept the food coming so much that I don't think I've ever had to tell someone to stop feeding me.
My husband, who's also a chef, was definitely impressed with his skills and how gracious both the chef and his staff were with me and my dietary restrictions.
5 stars all the way on all fronts. Now any resort and restaurant we go to will have to compete with Oblu Lobigili!

Amazing Resort and Staff!!!
Review of OBLU SELECT Lobigili

We spent our honeymoon (12 nights) at Lobigili and our expectations were far exceeded by the amazing staff and service at this resort. The airport pickup was easy and fast. The amazing part of this resort, the staff. We met our island hostess, Kate, who was fabulous and went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was great. She made our reservations to all of the restaurants, she booked all of our excursions, every morning she would send us reminders on the activities that were happening on the island and pretty much exceeded our expectations. She also organized a honeymoon dinner as well, which was great.
If you can request Kate as your hostess, please do, she will not disappoint. She also surprised us with a private cooking class on how to make their butter chicken with one of their chefs because they heard me rave and talk about how great it was, the management here (Alex) and our hostess really listen to you and they go out of their way to make sure your stay is excellent.
The food was delicious at their main restaurant Ylang Ylang, breakfast and lunch had food stations in which you can order a variety of dishes. The Indian and Asian food at Ylang Ylang is amazing!!
The underwater restaurant was definitely one of our highlights of this trip, we were able to dine there 3 times, the first time was dinner and the other two were for lunch. The experience was magical, the staff (Rahab) were extremely attentive. The food was so good!! We highly, highly recommend the underwater restaurant. The food truck is also very good, their menu is small but everything was delicious. I had their tiger prawns twice, which by the way were the biggest prawns I've ever seen and were cooked to perfection!
Now to what really makes this resort so special is the staff. The staff here are wonderful, attentive, personable and will go out of their way to get you what you want and need. We want to thank especially the staff at Ylang Ylang, Julia, Rachelle, Citra, Ivy, Sapna, Naahil, (and others I forgot their names), but pretty much all the staff were great, funny and we had some really great conversations with all of them. Let's just say it felt great to be able to build relationships with the staff, it does make a difference, so definitely get to know them if you can, they have some great stories to tell and they work so hard that they all deserve to be commended.
The resort has a bar by the pool called the Swing Bar, also had some amazing staff there that are extremely attentive, they know what you like and they will make you drinks that are not on the menu, I had one of the bartenders always surprise with a drink every day and they were all great. I want to especially highlight Sara (bartender), Divya (bar staff), Scothy (bartender), and Bishnu. All are wonderful but Sara and Divya were just amazing, funny, personable and went our of their way to make sure we had a good time. For example, on our last day Sara and Divya gave us some beautiful flowers and a few shots before heading to the airport, it was one of the sweetest gestures.
We stayed in an overwater villa and it was great, spacious and we were able to snorkel from our villa, they provide the life jackets, fins and snorkel gear throughout your stay. They also provide hats, flip flops, mini bar, toiletries (lotion, shower gel, insect repellent cream, shampoo and conditioner). They clean your room twice a day, thanks to Shraddah and her team. We also had 3 spa services at Elena Spa that was included with our stay and the ladies at the spa are very good at what they do, we would like to thank Engi, Nui, Ching and Dayi who gave amazing massages.
Overall, we highly recommend Oblu Select Lobigili, you will not be disappointed with their service, staff and food. All were top notch, especially the staff who day after day provided the same high quality impeccable service and made our honeymoon that much more special.
