Absolutely magical. One of our all time favorite hotel experiences.
The welcome team was kind and attentive from the very minute we stepped onto this stunning property.
Our personal attendant Aea continued throughout our stay to ensure we were well taken care of. Aea's warm smile and attention to detail were stellar.
The stay in Royal Villa #30 made us feel like true royalty. The view from our private beachfront pool was breathtaking. What a way to wake up as well as enjoy a cool dip in the pool in the warm afternoons.
As we were celebrating our 28th anniversary the team rolled out the proverbial red carpet by including a celebratory bottle of champagne, a beautiful floral sign on our spacious bed with flowers and a tasty chocolate cake. On our first evening we returned the our room to a bubble bath with rose petals and candlelights. Thank you Aea!
The boat tour to Hong island by Long boat was also memorable.
At sunset there was a traditional Thai dance by a lovely and talented girl. We watched as we sipped our cocktails by the Sunset bar. Another evening the manager had a welcome cocktail and appetizers at sunset by the pool. Such a nice treat.
Breakfast was served buffet style with customized menu items. I have to say this restaurant was our favorite. The items were fresh and delicious and there were so many local items as well as western food options. The staff was also careful to make sure that I stayed away from peanuts as I am allergic.
While the other two dining areas at the hotel were beautiful and staff was kind we were not impressed by the quality of what we ordered. For example the sea bass lacked flavor and one of our chicken dishes as well as the Laab tasted like we would expect from a less expensive restaurant. Our only complaint for our stay was that the quality of food was not commensurate to the prices.

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever been at. Service was fantastic. The design of the property and colors are definitely unique but work well for the property. However, If you're looking for a beach vacation, this property is probably not for you. The beach is not the greatest for swimming or laying on. The oversized pool definitely makes up for it and if you're someone like me who isn't much of a ocean swimmer, it is a non issue.

In many ways, it is hard to find the words to describe this true paradise of a property. The property is stunning everywhere you look, the rooms are massive and have all of the amenities that you need and the service is exactly what you would expect from a Ritz Reserve property. Here are a few tips and observations to enhance your stay should you decide to stay here. The welcome ceremony is pretty cool and they tell you there is a departure ceremony too. Sadly our butler skipped that for us as we departed without asking us which was super disappointing. So if that is very important to you please let your butler know. It ended our visit on a very sour note. Plan to not leave the property - there really isn’t a village close to the property and frankly you are encouraged not to leave, so stay and relax and unwind. The Butlers are a great resource so don’t hesitate to utilize them. They do want you to make a reservation for almost everything there is to do so it is a little challenging to be fully spontaneous for certain things. Review all of the activities and take advantage of as many of them as possible. The trip to Hong Island is really great and well organized. And the Naka Mountain sunrise hike is incredible. The main pool is mostly very chill and rarely was crowded and the pool team was outstanding and took great care of us. We utilized the common areas of the spa - steam room, sauna, vitality pool and the relaxation room and it was really great. The breakfast approach is really nice - a full buffet until 11 but if you sleep in, they have an all day breakfast menu that you can order from. Takes the pressure off getting there by a certain time. And the breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. Our favorite spot was the sunset bar. We had a nightly ritual of having drinks at the sunset bar and relaxing there for hours. The seating is super comfortable and the service was always incredible. Overall an incredible experience that we will treasure for a long time.

Wonderful team at Phulay Bay. Yada, Aun, Henry and the entire team were fantastic. Food was excellent, service was outstanding and the rooms were beautiful. Highly recommend visiting. Yada did an exceptional job and she made the resort a home away from home. Would visit again just to see the staff! 5 stars all around.
