After staying at this hotel last year, I was really looking forward to another visit.
Reception and customer services – we arrive at about 02:30am and checked in easily but little information was provided, we were offered basic sandwiches too but they didn’t look very appetising. Customer services were the most helpful at times when issues arose and they didn’t seem too interested in finding resolutions either.
Room, #798 was large, and had a partial sea view balcony (side street), room housekeeping was hit and miss with towels not always changed and pillowcases were missing a couple of times.
Lifts, at various times at least one was out of service and lift no. 3 overloaded with more than two persons!
Pool areas and bars – probably the biggest disappointment, despite the advertised times the rooftop bar closed early several times with no notice or warning – one the lights were switched off whilst a group of us were still present. Main pool bar also closes early not that they have a swanky new theatre but this means that the entire hotel uses on small bar – big queues and the sports bar was also never open but this was as friendly as a hospital waiting room anyway!
Pool towels were available on payment of a €10 deposit, towels changeable at the bars and sauna but these were shabby and thin, at checkout e returned our two cards they said we only paid for one but relented and repaid the €20!
Main restaurant – OK on the whole and a reasonable choice available to suit most tastes. Wine and beer on tap, fruit juices and coffee via machines. Deserts were rather disappointing but on our first night they had some stunning blue cheese!
All in all, this could be a great hotel (not sure the claimed four stars are accurate) l but it is obviously run on a budget with management taking absolutely no notice of any feedback looking through this site.

Don't bother coming here in November. At the rooftop pool the bar is closed "due to it being winter" and there's nowhere to buy drinks or snacks except vending machines. If you can't cater for people in November then don't take their money and bring them here!
Room is nice, view is lovely. But the service experience really dampens the holiday.

We stayed here for a week, got a junior suite with terrace and it was an amazing room and view. The terrace is lovely with sunbeds on, the hotel is clean and lovely and the all inclusive is great, the meals are really good. Had no issues at the hotel whilst we were there. Good location too, very happy.

We stayed here for 5 nights and at best had a mediocre stay. There were some real highlights, the variety of restaurants was fantastic and the restaurant staff were very kind. However, some inexcusable incidents.
The most disappointing and frankly dangerous, being that my friends and I got trapped in a lift on the 12th floor, this was absolutely terrifying. The lift was moving repeatedly up and down between floors with the doors not opening. No one answered the loud alarm which we rang multiple times and no one picked up the emergency line we were calling. The lift managed to fix itself, no thanks to the absolutely useless reception staff. We no longer felt safe in the lifts for the rest of our stay (this happened night 2) so didn't get to enjoy the roof top pool/bar. We went to reception to notify them of what happened and the staff were rude and dismissive. I highlighted this was a huge safety incident and I was completely brushed off which unfortunately came to be a common occurrence.
The second issue was the reps. They were fun however very insistent and wouldn't let you relax by the pool in peace, they were always pestering you to join in even when you said no.
Our room was a good size for 4 of us and exactly as described however often our towels weren't changed and we weren't given a hairdryer. We had to ask 3 times for a hairdryer and when someone eventually came to the room to give us one he wouldn't let us have it until we showed him every draw (where the hairdryer should have been) was empty. This was unnecessary, uncomfortable and invasive given we are 4 young women. We also were woken at 8am with someone dropping off towels that we'd asked for multiple days prior. Communication between reception and maintenance/housekeeping was evidently very poor.
The variety of restaurants was fabulous however the way this works on all inclusive should have been better explained by reception. You get to visit each restaurant once, we tried Luma and the new Asian restaurant which were both lovely and the staff at both were fantastic. However it would have been nice to know prior to dinner what was/wasn't included with our all inclusive but I can't fault the restaurants themselves!
Unfortunately we had multiple rude interactions with the hotel reception staff including when I handed my towels card back in for a €10 refund. I paid in card and expected this to be returned in card. Instead I was given cash which would have been nice to know in advance as I returned my card at the end of my holiday and don't use euros back home. I asked if I could get a card refund and the receptionist was rude and dismissive, often answering me back in sarcastic comments.
The final let down was check out. We'd charged some extra drinks to our room and when I asked for a copy of the bill before I pay we waited over 20minutes (missing our bus) to then not be given a copy of the receipt. In the end we agreed to pay but again this highlighted the poor communication between the reception and other areas of the hotel.
Photo pictured shows the downstairs pool and how close the hotel was to the sea which was ideal for a dip.
Overall the stay was average, it was a good location near lots of buses and bolts around the island are cheap. However, I will never be staying again.

Everything about this hotel is amazing and the staff are very helpful and informative. I will include pictures from the hotel room. Anything you need to find out they will know. The hotel has 3 restaurants and a buffet restaurant. They have a rooftop pool as well as one by the sea on the ground floor. The rooftop pool is adults only which is nice.
The animation team did a great job with the evening shows. The hall they have for it is stunning. I could carry on and on about the Qawra Palace resort and spa
