This hotel is a complete waste of money. To begin, the room was dirty - including dust, and several people's hair left around the bathroom, and gross carpet. The phone in the room doesn't work to call for housekeeping or the front desk, so you have to go to the lobby and wait in line to get help. I went in the winter, the rooms are freezing. I asked the front desk in the lobby about our heat not working, and they said they control the heat and they would send maintenance up. That did actually help. However, the next night it was freezing again. I did the same thing, and I asked for help. This time the sent no one. The other annoying feature is housekeeping knocks on your door every morning regardless if you put the do not disturb sign on your door. Would never recommend or stay here again.

The location of the hotel is top notch, close to many New York hot spots. I was treated like royalty upon my arrival by the door man, service desk, and the bell hops. They are so happy to have you! The three star rating does not do them justice, they can thank their manager for that.
I am awakened at 4:30am to a wrong number call from the front desk, than an hour later a call from the manager. He is asking about my booking at this ungodly hour. Don't they know that guests sleep? Having to assure a man on the other end that I in fact paid for my room.
I am awake and bothered, and prefer in person conversation. I find the manager who makes no apologies for his behavior, quizzing me about who helped me check in. I felt not like an honored guest, but now someone in charge of getting others into trouble.
I take the opportunity to inform him of the uninhabitable conditions of the "gym" on the fifth floor, where 100 degree hot air consumes the place. He makes no assurances to correct the matter, "You would get a better workout with the heat!" I know he was only joking, but this is not the demeanor I expect from the manager who should have the highest of standards.
The room is great, old New York and spacious with wonderful views. I hope I can write a better review after night number 2!

I can confidently say it was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had. From the moment I tried to reach them, it became clear that customer service was not a priority.
First and foremost, the phone never got answered. I attempted to call multiple times, both during the day and in the evening, only to be met with constant ringing or, worse, long hold times without any response. It's incredibly disheartening to feel ignored, especially when you're looking for assistance or have questions about your booking.
The room itself was mediocre at best, but the overall experience was marred by the lack of support from the staff. Need more towels? Forget about it. Want to report an issue? Good luck finding someone to talk to!
Clearly hotel prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction, and it's reflected in their service—or lack thereof. If you value good service and peace of mind during your stay, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. This hotel has a long way to go in understanding what hospitality truly means.

The hotel is currently under renovation and I’m sure the rooms will earn a 5 star once complete. The location and service is amazing and makes up for what the rooms lack. Great value for in the city! Allison, Ariel and Maxine at the front desk were all more than helpful and accommodating with any issues we did have, they resolved everything immediately with the best attitude. We will definitely be back.

I recently stayed at The Manhattan at Times Square, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Despite the glossy photos online, the reality was far from what was advertised.
The rooms were severely outdated, with worn furnishings and lacking basic amenities like a mini-fridge. The bathrooms were in desperate need of renovation, and overall, the space felt neglected. The thermostat in the room was broken, making it impossible to control the temperature. At times, the room was unbearably cold, while at other times, it was stiflingly hot—hardly what you’d expect from a hotel in the heart of Manhattan.
Adding to the frustration, my family and I were inexplicably locked out of our room five times over the course of our four-day stay, including on Christmas Day. Each time, we were told it was due to a payment issue, but when we approached the front desk, it was clear there was no problem at all. The repeated trips to get new keys were both inconvenient and irritating.
For the premium price we paid, the service and facilities fell far short of expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable or stress-free stay in New York City. There are plenty of better options at this price point that offer a much higher standard of quality and service.
Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
