For this to be a Marriott entity is very disappointing. This is 2nd Royalton where we have had a horrible experience. Just visited Oct 9th to Oct 13th 2025. Customer service was horrible. Everyone had a damn attitude. Diamond club butlers lazy as hell. Didn’t contact us until after 11 am each day. Scores turned off the air everyday to get us out but when “others” were there. The air was on, no problem. Ran out of water Sunday. Ants and geicos in the room. Mildew smells in the room. No sense of urgency took over an hour to get food and orders were wrong. Room service call to confirm food, took 3 hours and order still wrong. Everyone had the runs. Hideaway St Lucia and Montego Bay Jamaica are neck and neck. Marriot need to do an overhaul for training. Best restaurant was the Italian when you finally received the food. Came and conquered don’t ever have to come back.

!READ THIS PLEASE! My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Hideaway this October. We booked through a great travel agent about 7 or 8 months before. Before the trip, we did lots of research and learned a couple things other visitors seem to not comprehend. The airport is on the north end of the island, and most resorts are on the south end. This is because the water/beaches are calmer to the south - this also means you will have about a 2 hour car ride to the resort to/from the airport. Enjoy it! Don't listen to any of the ridiculous people complaining about it. The views are great and the drivers are incredibly friendly and happy to share facts about the island with you. As we got closer to the trip, we got really concerned based on some recent reviews: moldy rooms, no AC, bad food, long waits, room service is horrible, the staff is unfriendly, reservations for restaurants can't be made, hard to get towels and bottles of water, drinks were weak. Not one of those things is true....unless maybe you are delusional and expect a $15,000 resort trip out of a $5,000 resort. The staff was wonderful - they always greeted you, asked if you needed anything, and offered to help if you had any questions at all. The AC was literally set at 59 degrees....who can complain about that on a tropical island? The food was very good for an all inclusive, room service arrived in the exact time stated it would upon order, reservations were easy (read how they work and you won't be confused), the waits were not even slightly long. They cleaned our room every day and restocked the mini bar with beer and water and new towels. And at the bars, they were pouring drinks with 50% booze....not strong enough for you? All in all, I can't help but laugh at how pathetic a lot of these reviews are. As long as you go in with the right expectations for the price you are willing to spend, you will have a good time. And if you can't afford the expectations you have, maybe stay home?

Its not Hideaway by Royalton its a stay-away! This hotel is no where near a five star or even a 4 star! It says Adults Only! No, you share everything with the Royalton family resort! The only thing you get is, a small pool section for Hideaway guest, and a corner beach section near the beach stones… The service is horrible!!! You self serve on the beach and pool area. Out of the 6 nights I was there, the servers probably approached me twice and asked if I needed anything. Hotel cleanness is poor. Our feet turned black walking barefoot…. The room temperature of the room was too hot and they never made any adjustments. In addition, upon arrival we didn’t get a warm welcome. As we arrived, they sat us in front of a desk, and ask for your passports and than said you have to pay taxes! Not how was your flight, would you like something to drink… all they thought about was $$$. Room service is the worse… don’t bother! First of all it’s not all inclusive because they limit the amount of food you can order per person. All activities end at 10 PM… Saint Lucia is a beautiful place to visit, but this hotel ruined it for me every time I was enjoying myself someone knew how to disappoint me. If there is anything you are going to take from this review… STAY AWAY! Don’t waste your money and time… This will ruin your vacation. During my stay 2 sets of couples did early check out.

NOT A HONEYMOON HOTEL I caution it as an enjoyable hotel at all… My husband has been loyal to Marriott his entire career and the brand has been loyal to him. This hotel or its team however do not represent the brand we are familiar with in any way other than logo. Our son and his new bride were gifted a week stay for his honeymoon. The disappointments were exhausting. Recent hotel reviews by previous guest were experienced daily without fail. Staff was overall disgruntled in every department and held only empathy and no accountability except for one incredible guest service agent in the main building, not hideaway. May we suggest you take advice from guests our son met on his excursions from Sandals and Jade and choose their properties for an acceptable experience. Cheers Travelers!

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. From the first moment service was horrendous. We arrived to the Hideaway lobby, a separate makeshift building separate from the rest of the hotel. The staff had to pull out a folding table to check in our party and was completely ill equipped to handle more than a single party during check in. The woman who managed the buffet in the lobby was rude and angry that I even ask for a coffee from the machine, after a 2 hour ride from the airport. The rooms were generally OK but were very damp and smelled strongly of mildew the entire trip. The beach and the grounds were pretty and well kept (other than the lounge chairs and towels which were falling apart and dirty). The food and service were the worst part. Almost every meal was completely inedible. If you like drinking, this is fine as most of the hotel guests only could care to sit at the bar all day and night long. Some of the staff was friendly - some were incredibly rude and off putting, but overall everyone acted as though they were being inconvenienced by any simple request. I am angry that I paid the amount of money I did to stay here.
