I visited this hotel about 11 years ago when it was Almond Beach. It was good then but I think that it has improved since it has changed name. An excellent place to stay on the West Coast, it offers quality, value for money and very friendly, welcoming staff. The three swimming pools make up for the rather difficult access to the sea, which is down steps from the hotel beach front. The sea wasn't really easy to get into, except at very low tide, for anyone like myself who is not too good on their feet! (That's why only 4 stars for location) Overall it's a very good hotel, well run, with a manager who was in sight, checking up on guest satisfaction and keeping staff on their toes, with a super friendly staff, from the gardeners and maintenance men, to the cleaners, kitchen staff and all the front of house folks, making our stay relaxing and very enjoyable.

I have read some of the previous reviews and it seems like we stayed in a completely different place. On our arrival there was no room for us so we went given a temporary Upgrade.! We had booked 4months before arrival. It took 22 hrs before we were taken to where we would be staying. My husband has mobility issues and it was on the 3rd floor with no lift and apparently no other options. The room was clean with the most beautiful view but it became a novelty guessing what would be missing each day, eg. no shower gel , hand towel or bath mat. My issues are that there doesn’t appear to be anyone overseeing the actual running the hotel. The sun beds have a pull out tray that was never cleaned ( not while we were there) they were sticky with drink rings. The doors to and from the restaurants are so dirty and the glass hasn’t been cleaned for some time. There is one toilet behind the stage that has no hand dryer or paper towels. The door to the ladies has so much grime on the panel that I scraped my nail with an x so you can see if it’s been cleaned.!! There is not one parasol over the beds with the beautiful outlook to the sea, so unless you are lucky enough to get a spot underneath the tree you will just fry. There is one other restaurant on site other than the buffet called Enid’s. What a shock, you walk through a grubby room with a pool table and bar into an underwhelming restaurant. Lastly onto the staff, the ladies cooking at the omelette station are delightful, funny and engaging, but I’m sad to say that most of the dining room staff didn’t seem to care, it often felt like it was too much of an effort and they didn’t want to be bothered. While we were there we spoke to many of the guests who all said the same things that I have written about. I’m truly sorry to write what is such a negative review because we love Barbados and the people, but on this occasion we felt so disappointed. It will be interesting because the other guests had said that they felt exactly the same and would also be writing a review. I have been completely honest with our experience ,the resort needs management to ensure that the property is better maintained and the staff kept happy.

We just got back from a 5 night stay and I would probably rate this hotel at 3 1/2 stars rather than a 4 if the option were available. I believe in trying to be as honest as possible when writing these so that it is fair to the business and those looking to possibly stay. We have traveled around to many of the islands and have always stayed at all inclusive resorts, so we are experienced travelers. The Club was not what we were expecting but it met some of our expectations. I will start with the negatives first: The most disappointing feature was the beach...or rather lack there of. It is more of a man made sand wall that overlooks the ocean and the water below is quite rocky and hard to swim in. Our room upon arrival was a bit disappointing as they are "well worn", the mini fridges are not stocked with anything unless you want to pay extra because it is considered part of room service (strange for an all inclusive) and the floor was so dirty that the bottoms of our feet were black within a few hours of walking around on them. There never really seemed to be any entertainment (despite posted planned activity signs) not even music playing at the pool and the place is a snooze fest most of the day except until late evenings when live music is there for a few hours before everything shuts down at 11pm. I guess if you are an older couple who appreciates the quiet and you just want to sit around soaking up the sun, this is the resort for you. Positives are that the hotel is in a quiet & safe location, it is adults only so there are no kids running around, there is plenty of parking if you have a rental car, the drinks & food are top notch for a resort of its kind and most of the staff work very hard & provide great service. Holetown, which is within a short walking distance has some lovely shops and places to eat. Location wise it is about a 30 min drive from airport and seemed to be 15-20 minutes from most of the major tourist attractions/activities.

It may not be the smartest hotel/ resort on the West Coast but it is certainly one of the most fun. There is something for everyone. Even the food (that is inclusive) is sufficiently varied to be enjoyable and the majority of staff are always smiling !

Not the experience I was expecting given the high ratings. The rooms and overall resort are very outdated and need a lot of TLC. A lot of the service staff had attitudes towards me and my party. Housekeeping and drink service was extremely slow. Housekeeping would congregate on the steps outside of my room and talk loudly enough that we heard their entire conversation as if they were in the rooms with us. Found strands on hair on replaced towels several times. The beach was not accessible, no real shoreline. The room we were assigned had a king and requested 2 twins in the reservation. They just separated the beds instead of assigning us a new room. The room was very cramp and was not designed to house 2 twin beds. Food left some things to be desired, so item were good and some items were not good.
