Went to Tide for dinner , very nice ambience, staff were very attentive and welcoming. One of the staff who served me , Azuhar were genuinely kind and informative. The service is good and well taken care. The food was also fantastic. I was lucky to get a table with the perfect sunset view. Overall was a great experience.

Would Give 0 Stars If I Could – Terrible Experience at Westin Langkawi If I could rate this resort 0 stars, I would—but since that’s not an option, I’m reluctantly giving it 1 star. As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member, I expect a certain standard from Westin, but this stay was a complete disappointment. What Went Wrong? ❌ Terrible Food & Rigid Restaurant Policies • Even a simple pizza was bland and tasteless, and desserts were uninspiring. Not what you’d expect from a so-called luxury resort. • When we asked for some cut fruit to take to our room after breakfast, we were flatly refused and told we could only take whole fruit—where’s the hospitality? ❌ Unfriendly & Unaccommodating Staff • The service was robotic and lacked warmth. The staff were rigid with rules, showing zero flexibility even when we were traveling with three kids under the age of seven. • There was no effort to make guests feel comfortable, which is shocking for a high-end resort. ❌ Housekeeping Was Below Standard • Used plates and cutlery were left in the room during housekeeping instead of being cleaned properly. • For a family of four, we were given just one tiny bottle of moisturizer, along with a half-used bottle that was practically empty. Basic replenishment was neglected. ❌ Frequent Power Outages • For a resort at this price point, having multiple electricity issues is unacceptable. It disrupted the stay and added to the frustration. The Only Saving Grace? ✔️ The rooms were decent—clean and comfortable. But when everything else is below par, a nice bed isn’t enough to salvage the experience. Final Verdict – Stay Away! This was one of the most disappointing stays I’ve had at a Marriott property. The location is beautiful, but that’s the only thing going for this resort. With bad food, unhelpful staff, poor housekeeping, and unreliable electricity, it’s not worth the price.

However, Sami noted that some furniture and facilities are starting to show signs of aging and may need renovation. Beautiful property, fun pools, really comfortable accommodation." She mentioned an issue with a vegetarian dish containing fish sauce, indicating a need for better dietary awareness. Loved our pool villa and the beach access. Loved the staff who were wonderful. Enjoyed the Malay food." He pointed out that pool villas are relatively expensive compared to those in Thailand.

We were greeted by our assigned driver, Luqman, who provided seamless airport transfers both upon arrival and departure. The hospitality at the resort was outstanding—Farah at reception was warm and welcoming, making the experience feel truly personalised. She was incredibly helpful, offering great recommendations like the night markets and assisting with any arrangements we needed. The Suite was spacious and beautifully maintained, offering a breathtaking view. The pool area was fantastic, providing the perfect place to relax. One of the standout features was the private airport lounge, which was an absolute luxury—it provided a comfortable space to wait for our flight with complimentary food and drinks. Every detail at The Westin Langkawi made our stay truly memorable, and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and stress-free stay in Langkawi!

This is a big resort with a pool but not a beach place. The beach is rather tiny and not very suitable for swimming. The resort is huge and depending where you stay you’ll e lucky or not. We were lucky with a partial sea view bungalow on stilts with a terrace (perfect for an evening drink before dinner). Of course you can walk from your room to the pool or the restaurant but in general you will have to call a buggy to pick you up. As a guest, you’re rather a number and the staff is not interested. The food is not good, not up to the expected standards of such a place. The upsides are the spacious bright room, the huge comfortable bed, the little terrace, the big bathroom, the room and cleaning service. There’s a little fridge so you can stock your drinks because it’s expensive on site.

A unique setting amongst the rainforest with an abundance of wildlife all around. We were initially disappointed by our limited sea view which was obscured by trees however it did give a lot of privacy and we were visited by monkeys on our balcony. The room was of a high standard as expected in a 5 ☆ resort, quiet and peaceful at night. The beach and pool area are clean ,well maintained and also have good quality sun loungers . There is a free nature walk with their resident naturalist which I would highly recommend taking up , a very knowledgeable chap who obviously knows where to spot the wildlife which otherwise we would have walked straight past . Our only disappointment with the resort is the quality of the food , definitely not 5☆.

The forest chalet was scenic and very comfortable. Our room was clean, however the TV did not have great signal. The staff were exceptionally accommodating. Breakfast was overwhelmingly busy and while there were many options the quality was inconsistent. We loved the beach and pool area.

Had a great chillout holiday after a few crazy nights in Singapore for New Years Eve. The room needed a slight refresh but nothing too bad. Food was always good with plenty of choice and in different locations. We preferred the restaurant adjacent to the pool as it was smaller and less busy than the main restaurant. Transport to and from the forest bungalows was always prompt and efficient and all staff interactions were great as was the evening entertainment. The beach bar is a great place to chill and watch the sun go down. Only negatives - it was sometimes difficult to get a sun lounger on the beach. Adding another 7 or eight would easily solve that.

The place was very nice and relaxing. The food was amazing, and the service was excellent. The rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was well-maintained and pleasant. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, making it perfect for relaxation. They offered a variety of food options, and the breakfast was delightful. The only issue I encountered was the noise from lizards at night, as they made a persistent clicking sound near our window. Despite this, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

Staying at PARKROYAL Resort Langkawi was the best decision for our honeymoon. We stayed on August 13, 2024, for 2 days, and from start to finish, everything was beyond our expectations. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and to our surprise, they upgraded our room from a Premier Sea View to a Deluxe Suite—which was absolutely stunning! I requested a honeymoon arrangement before by email and while they politely informed me that decorations only could be arranged externally (they can suggest us their recommendations), they offered us a special cake—and it turned out to be absolutely delicious. Not only that, but they made that swan-neck towel decorations and scattered rose petals in our room, making our stay feel even more romantic and special❤️ I can’t recall the staff member who assisted us, but they were incredibly kind and took the time to explain everything about our room and the resort’s services in detail. Another great thing about this resort is that it’s kid-friendly, with a game room and playground area, perfect for families traveling with children. We would love to come back to this beautiful place, we’re already planning to celebrate our anniversary here next year. Highly recommended for a perfect honeymoon or special getaway!

Good quality hotel with a nice infrastructure, in particular splendid swimming pool on the 5th floor. Additionally, the breakfast was really good with a huge variety of choices. Nevertheless, the service is sometimes a disadvantage - I waited over 2 hours for my small luggage to be delivered to the room. Finally I went to the reception desk and took it on my own.

A big thank you to the team at Park Royal Langkawi for their exceptional hospitality during our 3D2N stay. My kids had an amazing time and are already asking to return during the school break. What truly stood out to me was the warmth and friendliness of the staff, despite being locals. I’ve experienced situations before where there was a noticeable difference in treatment, but here, we felt welcomed and valued. We also had the pleasure of dining by the shore, which was a highlight of our stay. While we were excited for our first dinner, we noticed that the menu remained quite similar on the second night. However, this didn't diminish our overall experience at all. We will definitely be back again in the future!

We stayed with 3 older children. 2 deluxe ocean view rooms. The view did not disappoint. Sunset was spectacular from the balcony. Favourite place was the level 5 infinity pool with reasonable drinks. Beach bean bag tables and drinks at night were very relaxing. Staff all very helpful. Breakfast catered to all. Had dinner at restaurant a few times, meals and drinks well priced for anyone from Australia or NZ. Although there are a lot of places offering cheaper accommodation, I would stay here again. Clean, comfortable and quiet, I didn't mind paying a premium.

We were impressed with the hotel staff, all were friendly and smiling. Hafiz served us and he gave us a confident look and commented that we will love the room. Since it’s my hubby’s birthday, he told us, they upgraded the room with compliments. Oh my! It was a huge Ocean view suite with 2 Large beds for 5 of us. Super spacious indoor and outdoor with our private garden and balcony. We love the room a great deal. Snack bars are packed for our stay. Breakfasts was an enjoyment to look forward to. Facilities are amazing for kids. Pools are extremely fun for my kids. We had our dinner there at Cassia restaurant and the whole team came out to sing a birthday song for my hubby including the live band by the ocean view restaurant. We had 2 complimentary cocktails to sum the experience and Kelvin, the F&B Head personally made the cocktails for us. We had a great time at Park Royal and we will definitely return! Highly recommended!!

The resort is a destination not just a hotel. There are a salt water pool, one fresh water lake, one fresh water pool within the resort to with a huge private beach curving throughout the boundary with one side being very quite if you prefer hanging out with just the people you’re with and the other side more public as it’s attached to the neighboring resort. Rooms are designed as Huts each with 4 rooms 2 on ground and 2 on upper floor so it’s an ideal stay if you have a family (you can occupy a whole hut with 4 rooms each room with balconies opening either towards Pool or Beach depending on room number) There’s a small zoo as well with some goats, swans, ducks etc but it was being renovated when i stayed there and i was told they are adding more animals soon. Breakfast is amazing with a huge variety of all sorts of cuisine. The nearby market has Arabic, Malay (Local), Indian restaurants and is really enjoyable to walk through in the evening through night with a lot of small shops, massage parlors and 7/11 etc.

Value for money, this hotel is great. You can’t beat the prices for a mid level 5 star hotel like this one. The pools have all been renovated which help a lot. Breakfast is great with both western and Asian options. My partner and I reallly enjoyed it. Location is great as well with sunset views and a great beach near local restaurants. Room is big and bathroom storage room is massive too. Adding an aerial photo to see the expansion of the hotel.

Huge disappointment - they are building the beach, you can vacation with excavators! In Langkawi terms, this is a very expensive hotel, located right on the beach. The beach is like the coast of a gravel pit, there are much nicer beaches than this. There are a lot of jellyfish in the water. The truth is that the beach is only usable on 1/3 of the hotel, the remaining 2/3 are being worked on with excavators, essentially a parade area. I think this reservation should be at least indicated, no one wants to listen to the noise of a excavator during the day while resting :-( Room: No concept, nothing unique. They installed 2 air conditioners, which you can't use because one of them blows the beds to the brim. The safe in the room didn't work (the battery was dead), the back of one of the air conditioner remote controls was broken. There are no wine glasses in the room, only water, water is provided daily in the room, and the minibar is filled if you request it. (Alcoholic drinks max. beer). The rooms are not soundproof, but perhaps more importantly, you can smoke on the terrace and you will feel this in your room from the terrace of the other room. It has 2 restaurants, max. 3* quality in terms of food, as it is not varied enough, cheeses, cold cuts are very poor, the soft drinks are too sugary poor quality. If you don't pay a deposit at check-in, you have to pay for all consumption immediately, you can't have it charged to your room. There are 2 pools on the hotel grounds, nothing special, little natural shade, 1.2 meters deep.

The delicious breakfast served by the beach and pool offers stunning views. Located along the pristine Cenang Beach, the resort provides exclusive beachfront access and a tranquil atmosphere. I only wish I could have stayed longer to fully enjoy this wonderful place. I'll definitely be back!

Had a really good time when visited in October. Started off with some issues, but the staff was quick to fix the issue. Overall staff were really good! The food was amazing as I'm sure you can tell from the photos. Did a cooking lesson, not amazing, but it was entertaining enough and we had fun. The drinks were also great and we enjoyed our time in the decanter room for afternoon drinks. Massage treatments were great. Bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected at a hotel like this. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will be back again.

Overall it is a very nice hotel. Good breakfast, nice restaurants and the room was great with the view of the sea. The staff is very friendly, but could use a bit more training in terms of awareness. The only downside is the beach and water. Although they have a pretty big beach, the sand could use some cleaning and maybe they can do something about the shore because you have mud after the first 2 meters.

I'm seriously surprised by the 5 star ratings all around. No doubt the service and staff at the place are great as expected from a St Regis property but the place doesn't have a real beach. It looks like an artificial reclaimed land or something and during low tide the entire stretch becomes like a swamp. So if you are just coming for a beach vacation then this definitely is not the place particularly considering the high price. There are around 10+ resorts in Langkawi that are better options under luxury option.

We had a great stay at The Danna in November. We stayed at the marina view room which was perfect: very clean, the bed was comfy with plenty of pillows to chose from, the bathroom was very spacious and was equipped with Jo Malone toiletries. The swimming pool is huge so never felt crowded. The beach was very well maintained although it had red flag out for the most of our stay due to jellyfish. If you book via hotel's website you can use sport equipment (kayak, paddle board) for free, otherwise you pay a small fee. The breakfast was great: plenty of choice of Indian, continental and oriental cuisine - our favourite was a fish curry. The hotel has several restaurants - we particularly enjoyed the italian one (great fried seafood and fantastic pizza and pasta). Service was very pleasant although a bit chaotic during breakfast time. The hotel is a 15 min drive from the airport and a 5 min drive to Langkawi bridge gondola station. There is plenty of parking space in front of the hotel. Our return flight was departing in the evening and we were allowed to checkout late. Overall the stay was great - very relaxing and hassle free - and we would definitely visit again!

A great hotel to be sure. Excellent pool. The highlight I think are the staff so friendly, genuinely friendly. Always ready to help. Nice bar for early evening cocktails and an easy listening band or singer. Rooms are very quiet and beds comfortable. We slept in every morning. The onsite Italian restaurant is also excellent. Well worth a visit one evening. Good mine selection. Some out of the ordinary excellent vintages.

Congratulations to the management and staff of this hotel. The hotel is definitely right up there amongst the best hotels in Malaysia. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas. The overall service is superb and made you feel comfortable without being intrusive. No matter where you are throughout the hotel, the service level and friendliness is very evident which really shows that the staff are well trained and probably well taken care of by the management. The hotel has amazing views of the sea which gives you a very calm and peaceful stay there. It is also not crowded and you can really relax and enjoy all the restaurants and facilities without being rushed. Will definitely come back whenever we are back in Langkawi.

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The location and setting is just stunning, set in the middle of a rainforest, on the most beautiful beach. There are monkeys and wildlife everywhere you look. The service is next level, with the most friendly and attentive staff - even someone offering to clean your sunglasses on the beach. The rooms are huge, the food is delicious, I honestly can't fault it.

The Datai is truly a rare gem in the hospitality industry. This is my second visit, and while it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what I love most about this place, I can say that I feel completely at ease the moment I step onto the property. Despite being over 30 years old, the resort continues to shine in its own unique way. The service here surpasses that of many top-tier hotels around the world—warm, sincere, and sophisticated—a true reflection of Malaysian hospitality at its finest. I was amazed to learn that many of the staff have been with the hotel for 20 to 30 years. They are the true treasures of this property. There are countless things to fall in love with here: rooms tucked away in the lush forest, the friendly buggy rides in the morning, sunglasses polishing by the beach—the list goes on. There’s simply so much to love and enjoy. You could easily spend a week—or even longer—here without ever feeling out of place. The Datai is truly one of a kind; please keep it that way and continue to shine.

True paradise at the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi! Our stay at this breathtaking resort was nothing short of perfection. We stayed at the FS Langkawi resort for one week. It was such a special experience - a truly stunning resort. We loved everything, from the restaurants to the rooms to the beaches. I've reviewed the other three restaurants separately, which were excellent, but I cannot miss the breakfast restaurant in this review! A totally perfect place to start the day, with delicious and very varied food options. My husband particularly enjoyed the congee and delicious accompaniments. However, what really makes this resot is the staff. They are so kind and welcoming, and truly make you feel like nothing is too much effort and really at home. Whether driving past in golf buggies and constantly offering lifts, to impeccable service by the adults pool from Lucknow (which is bliss!), to the most fantastic and friendly housekeeping - they are wonderful and every one went above and beyond. We went on the mangrove tour which was 10/10 - our tour guide, Annuar, was so very knowledgeable and made our trip an absolute delight. I cannot recommend highly the resort enough.

Booked a beach villa in FS, room is super nice, people and service are very very good, but some details are missing. For example, the shower door handle is loose and TV sound is bad. For a room costs over 1k a night, details matters. Beach is very nice and long, pool is very nice. We used our villa pool most of the time and did not go out much. I am super disappointed about the local food choices in the hotel, curry, roti from breakfast, ikan ikan restaurant in the resort not good at all. Local flavor is missing, who is the cook??? If you call it local food, and cannot make them as good as street food is very sad to me. Pizza, quesadillas were ok, but I was not impressed, can be better. We were in Datai before FS and the difference was huge in terms of service and food quality and everything else, both 5 star hotel and this time, FS was disappointing for me. The hotel grounds were good, big but the plants are super dry. The restaurant's service not very good (gave me the wrong bill and fish was not cleaned well around the necks and head, curry not authentic), The snacks from the manager reception were so so, Highlight in FS Langkawi is the villa location, room service and buggy service :) people work hard and thank you! FS management, you can do better than this!

The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi is undeniably a stunning property with incredible rooms and amenities, but the service doesn’t quite match the 5-star standard. TDLR: While the Ritz-Carlton Langkawi offers luxurious rooms and great amenities, the service inconsistencies and underwhelming beach make it not worth the price. I wouldn’t return and would explore other options in Langkawi instead, like the Four Seasons. Arrival & First Impressions Check-in was smooth, and the reception staff was hospitable. However, the staff member assigned to explain the resort grounds came across as rehearsed and insincere, making the introduction feel less genuine. Rooms & Amenities The room was absolutely stunning—every detail was well-designed, from the comfortable bed to the breathtaking views. As a Platinum Elite member, I received a one-tier upgrade, which was a nice touch. The pools were also a highlight, offering a great place to relax. Dining & Breakfast Experience Breakfast was well-organized with a wide variety of options, making for a great start to the day. The food quality and selection lived up to expectations. Service & Areas for Improvement While some aspects of the service were good—such as the buggy service, which was usually quick—there were multiple moments where the attention to detail and level of care didn’t reflect a true 5-star experience: Poolside service was lacking. While the loungers were well organized, the bartender ignored me completely when I approached the bar to order a drink. Even when I left my undrinkable "Ritz Punch" on the counter, there was no acknowledgment or offer for a replacement. Lack of proactive assistance. At one point, I was struggling to fold and dry off two umbrellas, and rather than assisting, an employee simply pointed to where I should put them. Small moments like this make a difference in high-end hospitality. Beach & Overall Value Despite the beautiful pools, the beach itself was disappointing—it didn’t live up to expectations, and for the price of the stay, it felt underwhelming. UPDATE: Upon checkout, the Director of Operations personally approached me to hear my concerns. He was genuinely sincere, took my feedback seriously, and went above and beyond. This level of attentiveness and generosity completely changed my perception of the hotel’s commitment to service recovery. Initially, gave 3 stars but now moved up to 5 stars. While I initially wouldn’t have returned, the management’s response made me reconsider. However, for those prioritizing a beautiful beach, the Four Seasons Langkawi is still the better option. But the pools here are seriously amazing!

The single greatest hotel/resort experience of our lives!! Our trip to the Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi started off with a free upgrade and we came to our new (HUGE) Junior Suite that was all decorated for our Honeymoon. No detail was spared, flower petals, cake, sweets... Wow!! For the next few days, we were treated so kindly every time we came across any member of the resort staff. They always remembered our names and made us feel special in every interaction. The natural beauty of the resort is unmatched, you're truly in a jungle with luxury accommodations. We saw multiple species of monkeys, Great Hornbills, Eagles, and so much more. Not only do I want to go back immediately; I'll be recommending this hotel to everyone possible!!

It’s a great resort I loved it, it made my honeymoon memories memorable. I’m disappointed they have taken a deposit from my credit card upon my arrival, and they promised me it will be returned fully back to my card since I have paid for other miscellaneous expenses. However it’s been almost a month in communication through emails and calls, yet they have not returned my money to my card. Be careful I have heard they usually do this kind of behaviors.
