I recently stayed at this hotel during my vacation and, unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The menu was very monotonous, with about 60% of the dishes repeating daily with only minimal variations. The salads were not fresh, and the tomatoes were tasteless, with some days featuring tomatoes that weren’t even properly ripened. For a 4-star hotel, this is simply unacceptable.
The watermelon, too, lacked any real flavor, which was surprising for the season. One day, I ordered a traditional Greek salad by the pool, and what I received was a random assortment of roughly chopped ingredients with no effort to make it resemble an authentic Greek salad. It was missing several key ingredients like olive oil and proper seasonings.
Overall, I was disappointed with the food and would rate it 2 out of 5. For the price we paid, a 4-star hotel should definitely do better. I’m not saying it was absolutely terrible, but there’s a lot of room for improvement

Great new hotel. No issue with check-in. Have lots of parking around the hotel. Rooms were clean. Best part of this accommodation was the buffet and the chef that went with it. We have a gluten allergy and the chef came out and detailed, in English, what we could and could not eat. Lots of gluten-free choices, as you can see by the photos. They even had Greek dancers from Creta to perform. Would recommend this hotel.

A lovely modern, airy and spotlessly clean hotel. but unfortunately there are no sea views close by.
For the most part staff are friendly and helpful; Eleni and Irene were particularly obliging and accommodating. I was very happy with my room too but the towels should definitely be replaced next season. Food was buffet style, varied and plentiful with a variety of non-meat options.
The hotel is very quiet and lacks atmosphere in the evenings. No entertainment which would have been welcome as there’s nothing else around.
The disappointment for me was the location. It is quite far out from Rethymno (9km) and a fair distance from the sea and good sandy beaches. If you have mobility issues, this is not the hotel for you. The bus stop (#20) is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and then a good 20/25 minute drive into the old Port, which is well worth a visit, especially at night when it’s buzzing. Tickets and timetable available at reception (2€ each way for any distance). Good value compared to taxis which charge +/- 20€ one way.
As a solo traveller I didn’t feel comfortable walking out of the hotel at night a) because there was nothing to walk out to and b) not knowing whether I might fall down a manhole in the dark. Waiting for buses that very often didn’t run to schedule was frustrating and meant having to wait at unlit bus stops for up to an hour on occasions. It was definitely the wrong location for me which was a pity as I love Rethymno and all that it offers and have visited many times before where I feel safe hiring a bike on a well lit cycle path along the promenade either day or night.
A final word about transfer times. I travelled to/from Chania in a shared coach. 1) we had to wait for an hour at the airport until the coach filled up and 2) it then took 2.5 hours doing all the drop offs. If that’s an issue for you, then either take a private taxi 110€ each way or hire a car as the journey should only take an hour 20mins.
Overall I found the people in this particular area of Adelianos far less hospitable than in other places I’ve visited in Crete. Perhaps they’re just tourist-weary st this time of year. The hotel closes on 22nd October.

What an amazing holiday! Our welcome was as if we were returning guests. The owner is so lovely and we didn't realise the lovely smiley man serving us at the bar, was the owner, he was assisting while they were short staffed. It felt great to support this Hotel. We would definitely re-visit! It was very good value for a couple, half board and for 11 nights. Staff are amazing and clearly enjoy their job.

My sister and I spent a week at this hotel for a relaxing getaway.
The hotel is quite secluded. If you want to explore, you must book a bus tour to the nearest town or hire a car.
The room was clean and had everything we needed. On the downside, the room was small. I also think the bedding needs updating. The duvet cover was bobbly, and I have a phobia of this. I told housekeeping, and she was very nice and understanding. She turned my duvet cover inside out when she made my bed. I don't know if it's just me, but I thought all hotels used cotton bedding 🤔
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
