Stayed there for 1 week and the place is amazing, the front of house staff is very helpful and friendly. The housekeepers did an amazing job with our room. The food is amazing at the restaurant but the restaurant staff are snobs and lazy. They don't smile, they come to your table with an attitude. I have been in the hospitality business for 35 years, a chef for 15 years and a restaurant manager for 10 years and the other years training restaurant staff from Barbados, UK and Canada, and in all of my years I have never seen this kind of service from waitresses. One of servers nails is so long that it was actually in my food while holding the plate. From my prospective the restaurant staff needs retraining or let go. They attitude does not go with the business.
Also, the owners need to do something about the restaurant and the front of the hotel when it rains. If it ever rains there, you have to walk though a pool, not a puddle, a pool of water both inside the restaurant and infront of the hotel. But the beach is beautiful and we hardly got harass while on the beach.

Liked everything about our room. Only wish there were a coffee maker in the room. There was a fridge, stove, microwave but no coffee machine. The restaurant not open until 7 a.m. and being early risers we did not like having to wait so long for coffee. We ended up getting instant coffee which typically not what we drink. Other than the coffee situation we liked it there.

Dover Beach hotel was perfect for my fiancé and I. The hotel has 3 buildings. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable and the views and the beach are lovely. If you are looking to relax and getaway to clear your mind, this is the place. We had not issues at all. Will be back!!

Booked a two night staycation but I’m so disappointed. On checking in there was a mix up with my reservation although I made the reservation on the hotel website. I was given a ground floor room pool view. Solo female travelers on a ground floor isn’t a good option for me. The room was just okay and had a weird smell. That night I was famished and went to the restaurant on site. There was one attendant on duty who was behind the bar. I sat there for 20 minutes and nobody came to my table. I walked to the nearby convenience store and had crackers and cheese for dinner. Housekeeping came to my room late evening before my departure. Linens - one towel per person. No wash cloth. No face towel. I didn’t get the friendly, cozy vibe that comes with a small intimate hotel. Instead, I woke up to workmen on the roof in front my room and went to bed with the sound of the water pump droning on at night. I’d like my money back to experience a real staycation!

Went the the bar at the dover hotel to get a strawberry daiquiri and they have tall glasses last year I drank there and what was left in the blender the bartender gave me in a little glass as not to throw it away we stayed there drank then left the bar, today I went haven't been able to make it cuz of the rain and it gets flooded there so ull get all ur feet wet so the water was gone and I went to visit, the bartender was a little nice she was there the year before but she made me a drink and instead of offering me the left over she gave it to a co-worker who was working( on the clock) she could have tried to make me happy keeping me there drinking to make the bar more money but instead she was concerned about her coworker, sorry but it rubbed me the wrong way so I drank the drink and left. Very disappointed 😞
